    I just received my S1500 and literally just finished charging it. I know mostly nothing about electrical but I saw this on another YT video and decided to give it a go. Glad I also caught this video. Ive been using my Jackery 300 while waiting for my Pecron to arrive and I think the Pecron will relly do everything I need on the road.

    I was waiting for Pecron to bring this S1500 back onto the market for purchase again, after it made it's debut in 2o21.04. It was unavailable for a couple of months afterwards. I ordered mine at the Pre-Order price of $1099 on 2o21.08.05 and it arrived on 2o21.08.20. Yep the outlets are turned right side up now and it also comes with the MC4 connector cable and it comes with the battery clamp cables. It's the best power station available for the co$t. I'm EXTREMELY happy with the purchase

      Actually, it’s not the best value if you want to charge it with solar. Pecron makes you use their $400 panels. You need a mc4 solar panel that provides a minimum of 36volts. Only Pecron sales it.

    Hi, according to an email from Pecron regarding the PV input of the S1500: "PV input is 29.4-40V, 15A, mac Voc 45V, max wattage = max volts x max current = 40V*15A=600W, doesnt matter if its parallel or in series/daisy chain as long as you don't exceed the max limits." You can use any third party panels with those guidelines in place. Anyone saying you are forced to use Pecron panels if lying of spreading FUD. I use two BougeRV 180W 12V 5bb panels in series and it works great. Pass through while charging (free electric for the fridge) and recharges in about 4 hours. Hope that helps. Newpowa panels would also work great, but BougeRV had a better deal.

    For upside down recepticles, it is common practice to have them upside down to easily indicate that they are switch controlled. That's all.

  • @sarge1231
    @sarge1231 ปีที่แล้ว

    One of the possible reasons for the upside down plugs is this....many chargers are rectangular, with their length below the plugs. If too long, it might be unable to plug in if on the table if the plugs were not upside down. I have one of these, but it was under 600 on sale...great deal.

    Outlets are placed upside down like this for safety reasons. If you where to place/ drop something that gets down to the plugs. It wouldn't end up shorting the power leads together and running the risk of fire or worst.

    • @kimmer6
      @kimmer6 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard this BS for over 30 years. I was in the power generation and distribution field and a very few knobheads insisted on outlets being upside down. In my travels, the only time that I ever saw a spark from shorting a half plugged in cord was when I would take strands of old fashioned Christmas tree tinsel and lay a strand across the 2 blades. I was 7 years old in the late 1950's and my mom was horrified when I showed her.
      I have owned commercial buildings, apartment houses and single family rental homes for 35 years and never once had a fire or arc from a 120 volt receptacle installed with the ground on the bottom ''smiley face'' style. My maintenance people replaced thousands of outlets over the years mostly because older ones lost their spring tension and would not grip the plug prongs. If you can cite an instance where a ''right side up'' outlet caused an arc or fire, I would appreciate hearing this.

    Actually, residential codes in many municipality's changed gradually from 1990's to early 2000's to put the ground on top.
    Before that it was easier to break the ground because poorly spaced electrodes were not able to keep a plug in the receptacle. Consequently the plug would pivot on the ground as it lost it's battle with gravity and the constant yanking and break the ground.
    Many people would continue to use their devices any way. Only a few instances of fire and injury were enough to get the receptacles inverted to remedy this situation.
    So yes, OCD and living partially under a rock for the last 15 years were enough to enable you to make that erroneous observation

    Watts is just Amps * volts, so it isn’t really accurate to say this thing draws more amps than watts, or more watts than amps as they are directly related. Watts would just be volts * amps.

      Wrong, DOWN so that when you're pulling the plug your index finger doesn't risk coming in contact with the positive and instead you only risk coming in contact with the ground. Doesn't matter though, electrical code allows for up/down/sideways.

    I am nowhere close to having an understanding of electrical devices.....did i hear you say you could run these units "in tandum"? As in i could buy two of these and in effect, turn the two into one double-powered unit? I'd have 3000 watts to play with? Sorry for all the questions but i've saved a bit of money towards some type of power outage solution.
    Ideally, I'd like to run a 6000 BTU room AC, cool my small area, turn off the AC then power my windows desktop PC for 'several days' :)
    I just don't want to buy gas and use an old school gen - unless i have to.
    Any advice or suggestions from anyone here would be nice. Cheers!

    • @mrmozart41
      @mrmozart41 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can't run 2 of these power stations (or any power station for that matter) in parallel, as in connecting the AC outlets with each other for twice the power. The 2 inverters generate A/C (alternating current) at 60 Hz (cycles per second), and there is no way to synchronize them. You would certainly destroy both units if you attempt to connect their 110V outlets. Your room AC wou; need to run on one unit and your computers on the other. Also, even a small 6000 BTU room air conditioner would deplete this power station in 2-3 hours. A desktop PC will draw maybe 150W (including the monitor), so you can expect 12 hours from one of these 1461 Wh (usable capacity is ~85% of the battery capacity). A laptop should be able to run for "several days" on 2 of these units if you sweat it out and don't run the A/C. In conclusion - for a multi-day backup you'd either get a gas-powered generator or shell out a few thousand dollars for a much larger battery.

    • @kimmer6
      @kimmer6 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it won't start the furnace blower motor without tripping. The starting amps are too high. Your furnace circuit breaker is probably 20 amps while most other house outlets are 15 amps. Besides, 1500 watt hours won't run that furnace for any decent length of time.
