If there's a Guitar player and a Guitallele player how could they tune together to play a song together... or is that not possible? ( I'm asking because I bought myself a guitalele for journeys.. but if I meet people at a campsite it's sad that I cannot play together..
INdiverCT You tune it the way I indicate in this video. Then the guitalele will have the exact same chord shapes as the regular guitar.
INdiverCT if you know your chords and keys, its easy to jam with anyone. A G on the guitar is a C on the guitalele, C an F and D a G, count up 5 frets on the guitar and learn those chords inversions and you have a guitalele.
All you have to know is your guitalele chords, a C on the guitar is an F on the Guitalele, D is G and G is C the guitalele, just like 2 guitar players jamming and one is playing the same chords further up the neck

Bee If you stay with the regular A to A guitalele tuning, all the uke chords you already know will fit. If you come from the baritone ukulele the chords you know will fit the tuning I demonstrate in this video. That's a start. Good luck!

Did you have to change the string order or just tuned it a 8va higher?
Alex Zam You can buy special strings from Southcoast. The set has thinner E, A & D, and the rest are also made with this tuning in mind. You can also get DGBE tenor ukulele strings from Aquila or GHS and add a classical guitar A string tuned up to E and a classical D string tuned up to A.

Yes .. but here in my country I can not find DGBE tenor ukulele strings. My choices are between low G and high g set of strings and the only brands available are Aquila and Martin. Which one should I choose? Could you tell me some specific model?
The Italian brand Aquila has dGBE tenor strings. You can get them on amazon or ebay.
Im very new to this, but do you use guitar tabs on this or separate ones for this guitarlele?
I don't use tabs, but if you should use regular guitar tabs, they would be wrong because strings 4,5,6 are one octave up from regular guitar tuning. As for chord shapes, well , they all work.
