The T2 3-D variants were available at Toys"R"Us when the attraction was picking up. Also, there was Hidden Power Terminator in the T2: Future War lineup if you wanted a battle-damaged sunglasses-wearing Terminator.
With a paint job and a bit of customizing it's actually a really solid representation of the Fat Boy from the film. I've customized two for people and one for myself.
My twin brother and I had a few of these along with the Last Action Hero guys. I loved the Power Arm Arnold. We were so excited because now we had Arnold toys to recreate his other movies like The Running Man and Commando lol! It was awesome.
My best friend from Middle School had several of these. We were mostly into playing with the Toy Biz X-Men figures, though. I specifically remember that power arm Terminator. If he still has these, at his parents house, it's probably yellowed and covered in an inch thick layer of nicotine.
FINALLY! After all these years, now I know what the deal was with that weird widget thing that the Exploding T-1000 came with was! Both the gun and widget originally came with the "Headhunter" character in the Robocop line. Thanks for helping me check that bit of knowledge off of my bucket list!
My brother went to Kmart when this line was still out, and found where someone returned the Bio-flesh playset. We loved that damn thing. Even though you had to buy extra "powder" or skin.
I had the leather jacket terminator with half of his face peeled off, cyber-grip, the full exoskeleton terminator and the bike….such fun times as a kid.
I had the one with the blast away chest. Really wanted to get one of the endoskeletons, but my parents convinced me to get a dollar store Halloween skeleton and paint it silver instead. That would have satisfied me well enough, but my dad went the extra mile again and glued some old computer chips inside the rib cage to make it look more like a proper robot.
With a solid paint job and a tiny bit of filler on spots the Heavy Metal Cycle is actually a pretty legit representation of the Harley Fat Boy used in the film. I've customized two.
I did have a giant... It was 12+ inches, Endoskeleton. He came with a giant plasma rifle with a button to play sounds. He was slightly larger than my GI Joes. I want to say I got him from Kaybee toys back in the day? Also had the 12" T2 3D Arnie which came with his shotgun and GL. Unfortunately you can't really display those out of the box these days because the fake leather just sheds everywhere.
That one was done on a camera that had a remote control that could allow the camera to record for a fraction of a second. Then move the toy and record again I've also taken hundreds of photos and combined them in a video editor.
Ah man I had all of these. The rapid deploy T-1000 with the missiles that fired out of his buttocks, the same buttocks that flipped up behind his head. Sooo stupid for so many reasons :) The bioflesh Regenerator was a nightmare and created such a mess that my mum forbid me to use it anywhere but the kitchen. 1st time a friend and I used it we threw all the waste down the sink, not realising this was the one thing you were absolutely not supposed to do! we blocked that sucker for days. Let's not forget Cromium, the bull-headed terminator that... grew taller? they really ran out of ideas didn't they :)
John Connor , the endoskeleton and the T-1000 who is half silver and with the blade are the only 100% accurate figures. others are weird, odd and iconic.
Loved this line when it first hit, as I was obsessed with all things T2 at that time. I remember the first T-1000 (biker) and John Connor being terribly difficult to find in stores at first….I think I still a carded T-1000 that I got back in ‘91. 😅. Had the entire first series of figures from ‘91, vehicles and the bioflesh regenerator, too. From the 2nd wave, I had a repaint of the battle damaged T-800 (with a yellow tank top and weird camo pants 😂). Lost interest in the line by 1992 and whenever the Future War rebrand rolled around though. Great episode as always!
Bionic man maskatron ( also Kenner), had the exploding mechanism but it started to suck over time. You would put him back in the box wearing his clothes and his arms and legs would be constantly shooting off him even if you had the locking mechanism on. I’ve been a vintage toy collector for many years and action features suck for the most part.
in T2 Arnold didn't shoot his face and chest off to prove he is a machine to Dyson~ john gave him a blade and the T-800 peeled off the skin on his left arm and showed him his mechanical arm underneath~
@@ghostchaser1631 idk whose channel is this~ am talking about the guy in the baseball cap he said "and arnold shot his chest and face off in the living room" and he/you mean T2 right?!
I had the entire line, all the vehicles, and the battle damage lab, sold them all in a garage sales for $$$. Don't miss them. They were great, but a weird line.
😂 I had all but the future war toys as a kid. Yeah, that "skin factory" thing never worked right and the thick motorcycle missile cop always confused me as a kid.
I had the exploding T-1000 and the one with the missile firing arm. I shot myself in the eye 3 seconds after taking ot out of the packaging. I was 11 or 12 at the time and I remember thinking "I'm getting to old for this."
Wasn't into Terminator 2 as a little boy (I'd find an appreciation for it when I got older), but my mom did get me the Bio-Flesh Reginerator out of the blue. Cool idea, but the toy was garbage. Was hard to use, made a mess, the mold only vaguely resembled the sculpted figure on the box, and the flesh came apart too easily. There was also no real playability because the figure had zero articulation. They resurrected the idea for Terminator: Salvation. Not sure if it worked any better or it was just the same thing.
I had exploding T-1000 only because my friend at the time bought it for me...because he had a T-800 figure so now we could have our figures fight each other. He did this because somehow he had gotten in to see the movie, and loved it, even though he was only like eight years old in 1992. I wasn't allowed to see R rated movies yet because I was twelve that year, but there I was with an admittedly cool T-1000 figure that I had no idea what to do with. That Bio Flesh Generator did look awesome to me back then though, and the squishy pink putty used as the "flesh" was the same stuff that a dentist uses to make castings of peoples' teeth which means that you could still use that playset, all you would have to do is find more of that powdered dental putty. I didn't know that Universal had re-issued those piece of crap figures in their theme parks. Interesting...and kind of a waste of money...for both them and us.
the future wars arnold figure wherein you could swop the left arm and the head was great, but they should have made it in the biker leathers, not something he didn’t wear. The T 800 was cool, but wasn’t really in the movie. John Connor was a great addition to the line.
The made the worst terminator figures nothing like the movie at all however at the time when I was around 9 or 10 years old back in 93 or 94 they actually seemed quite awesome I had the full set at one stage I'm so glad that years later neca made quality looking movie figures that you just enjoy looking at I really love having them in my collection now days & I really can't stand the old kenner ones now
I loved these figs as the T2 3D line at Universal. They carried that line for years
Yeah, I assume they had a big old warehouse of em.
This was such a nostalgia trip for me. I had most of these guys and the skin factory when i was a kid.
I absolutely loved them
The Skin Factory!
@@Pegwarmers yea where you put the endoskeleton in the mould and pumped the liquid skin around the figure 👍
John Connor n his motor bike was my favorite of the action figures
Good choice!
The T2 3-D variants were available at Toys"R"Us when the attraction was picking up. Also, there was Hidden Power Terminator in the T2: Future War lineup if you wanted a battle-damaged sunglasses-wearing Terminator.
The chest burster terminator looks like John McClain
I still have some of those figures. I was absessed with them and loved them.
Awesome!
I carried my battle damaged T-800 arnie everywhere i went those first few months. loved everything about T2.
That's great!
That $10 dollar Ultimate Terminator would be sold today as $50 dollars.
Thanks Biden
I only remember seeing the Secret Weapon Terminator at Toys'R'Us and wanting it so badly. Parents wouldn't let me have it.
So he was harder to find in your experience?
The motorcycle was frocking awesome! It had a rocket also! Terminator and the fricking rockets!
Too bad we didn't have the bike.
@@Pegwarmers deffo. Childhood ruined 😂

The bike was sick.

Classic!
Rapid repair terminator had a great sculpt for the era
Not one we featured in the episode, but you are correct.
Also I remember for years I would refer to the t 800 endoskeleton in the movies as "techno punch" because of that toy 😂
That's funny!
Loved this toyline, picked up a few of them cheap a few years ago for display.
They are good yardsale and toy show fodder.
I loved these when they came out
Kudos on that Alien3 poster. I actually loved that movie! Just viewed it as a prison movie with an alien backdrop.
If you like Alien 3 you should check out Tony's channel Hack the Movies.
I'm pretty sure I still have both my battle damage and secret weapon figures. Back in the day, toys are toys, even if they weren't screen accurate.
Yeah, it's just funny how different some of the stuff is.
My best friend from Middle School had several of these. We were mostly into playing with the Toy Biz X-Men figures, though. I specifically remember that power arm Terminator. If he still has these, at his parents house, it's probably yellowed and covered in an inch thick layer of nicotine.
Yeah, the X-Men were huge! Gross about the nicotine.
I got the first wave of T2 toys at the K-Mart in Warminster
Warminster! A local guy.
Loved these toys as a kid
They are fun!
FINALLY!

Thanks for helping me check that bit of knowledge off of my bucket list!
You are very welcome!
Spawn Mobile actually makes sense as Spawn did take over a motorcycle in the movie he also took over a car in the comicbook
The NECA version of the Power arm Terminator is awesome I have it somewhere I also had it as a kid it was the only Terminator figure I had as a kid
They do some great updates!
My brother went to Kmart when this line was still out, and found where someone returned the Bio-flesh playset. We loved that damn thing. Even though you had to buy extra "powder" or skin.
Wow man. What a trip down memory lane. 3:36 - I got that claw arm Terminator for my 7th birthday. What the hell is even time?
Awesome episode! Kenner terminator is one of my favs!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I had the leather jacket terminator with half of his face peeled off, cyber-grip, the full exoskeleton terminator and the bike….such fun times as a kid.
You had a good collection!
I had a bunch of these as a kid and now as an adult I have the remakes that necca put out great video!
The Neca remakes look fantastic!
Still have my John Connor figure w/ dirt bike after all these years .
Nice!

Ha, we dud an episode about large Marvel Toys and Gambit's coat was flaking.
Making a kids toy line for an R-rated movie most of their parents wouldn't let them see. Those were the days.
Yep!
How'd you do the stop motion please instruct me would love to know been wanting to do that for years

One of the arms basically gives the finger

It's called sarcasm 😅
They re-released the bio-flesh regenerator when Terminator salvation came out, it was literally the exact same thing.

The bioflesh was made from dental alginate which is readily available to buy!
Good to know!
What weirded me out about the mobile assualt vehicle was that it has this big letter "T" on the hood. Why? Who tought this was a good idea?

The Cop is pretty terrible.
Complete with rocket launcher ass.
But does the big Terminator figure have Arnold's voice from the movie? Or is it a hilariously awful sound alike ??

Girl action figures don't sell. (Is what the toy companies say)
Kenner makes great toys, gimmicky but creative...until the company was bought out
Hasbro, until all are one.
That was the policy of Kenner in those days. It must have an action feature.
