“Fun” fact: the Evac Fighter (slightly repainted and/or without the decals) is played with by Picard’s dream son in “Star Trek: Generations.” I guess they figured it would pass as a future toy. Or maybe, because Picard is an amateur archaeologist they figure his son would play with a toy the equivalent of a Colonial toy for us.
I always liked the Space Marine figures. Had all of them as a kid, and lost them while growing up. As an adult I bought them again so my boys can experience them. The Alien tabletop RPG series has the Hovertread, Stinger, and Svac Fighter as cannon vehicles. The Evac Fighter is similar to the X-Wing for the Colonial Marines.
A couple years ago I collected all the Aliens and Marines figures. You can get most of them pretty cheap. If I had been at Kenner when they were making these, once the cartoon got nixed, I would've pivoted, and cancelled the Marines figures and positioned the Aliens as adversaries for your other toys. They are such natural antagonists that you can use them against almost any other action figures. Also, for clarification, the single carded versions of Vasquez, Hudson, and O'Malley were UK exclusives. The later 2 pack versions were a wide release.
Had em all except Hudson, Vazquez, and O’Malley since they were UK exclusives. I remember those 2-packs as being Kaybee exclusives, but I was out of the Aliens collecting game at that point and never picked em up. Nice repaints on the Marines and the Aliens themselves….kicking myself all these years later. 😅🤦🏻♂️
I remember having all the aliens and I had Corporal Hicks and Bishop in the humans. I still have them all somewhere. My favourite action figures as a kid.
Bishop rips apart, but you have to do it manually. Take either his left or right side and just pull really hard, along with the arm it comes off. Then, the real fun begins. You see, there is a little post that sticks out once the arm comes off. There is a hole in the gattling gun that you can mount on to the post and he can become a bipedal gun turret :) Also don't feel bad about the gun breaking, they all do. Those handles are really delicate for some reason. OH and Apone, the grenades are thrown by twisting the waste. Vasquez did not have a smart gun, her Kenner toy had a huuuuuuge backpack that flipped up over her head and fired not 1, not 2 but 4 alienator missiles. You could fire them one at a time or really fast at once in a rapid deploy action :)
"Enjoying the 80s a little too much" is my new favorite euphemism Apone's waist is springloaded, you're supposed to use that to make him throw the grenades. My favourite bit of bio photo for these is Bishop, they just airbrushed the cyborg parts onto an actual photo of Lance Henriksen 😂
since i was 8 i have had a Flying Queen Alien figure. I was never into the Alien franchise until recently. My wife discovered the vintage toy and has had it in her collection for a few years. At his very video has had me buy Ripley and a very reasonably priced Bishop moc (he’s coming off)… many aliens are in my watch list on ebay right now. Thanks guys
@@Pegwarmers appreciate the advice. I have just posed Ripley with my JPLW Dr Ian Malcom, JP Dr Alan Grant and Nedry… with GI Joe weapons because, ya know, aliens
Vazquez, O’Malley, and Hudson were UK exclusives. There was also a UK version of the Queen and Flying queen. These marines were repainted and released later in 2 packs. The 2 pack versions you show are not nearly as valuable, only the original UK versions with the colors on the back of the package are. Additionally there was a proper drop ship that was never released in a wave 4. It was later released in the VR Troopers first series.
I remember these! The colorful ones were def UK and Euro exclusives. My aunt dated a guy from Italy and she brought me back Hudson and O’Malley. I lost my mind! Then I saw the military green ones in the US at Kaybee toys. Man! So cool. Ended up finding the red shirt Vasquez for $10 at a toy shop. Her bubble was square which I guess meant she was a US release. Rumor I heard is that they only released a few and discarded the rest. The UK/Euro release versions had the bubble that was shaped as the figure.
You guys should check out the recent (a few years ago) LANARD Aliens line. The aliens are colored like the arcade and 16-Bit games. And a cool power Loader. And the APC tank.
With regard to the Slashy Meals, If ever any man were destined to be depicted in the form of a semi-anthropomorphized chicken nugget, it is our boy, Jason "The Bedsplitter" Voorhees. You don't even have to try. In fact, and I say this with nothing but love, the lumpier the nugget, the better. Sculpt a machete on the side, make a little hockey mask for him, and give him a sign that says "Welcome to "Camp Crystal Pepsi" as a stand. You hear that? Listen. There, you hear it? It's the sound of those hotcakes selling out even though you haven't even decided to make them yet, amigo, a cosmic explosion of "STFU AND TAKE MY MONEY, TOYDADDY" echoing back to us through time itself. *holds hands up dramatically* Dew it. Get Licenses and watch them fly off Target shelves for $10.99 each like books in a haunted library. Cordially, E. Didn’t have any of these. Comics and X-men figures mainly got my pocket money. I remember seeing them and thinking they were cool. Just not as cool as super heroes lol.
I really do hate to be that guy, but they never were gonna make an aliens cartoon, the animation stills were from a cancelled animated commercial which was then replaced by the classic "kids in the sandbox" style live action commercial
I disagree. There is a variety of merchandise that was released with that Operation: Aliens branding. Several t shirts, a watch, puzzles, and the carrying case for the action figures. I don’t know that it makes sense to have branded merchandise for a commercial given toy line trends at the time.
So upset that NECA stopped making colonial marines movie figures....they didnt finish the whole line of marines and so tired of so many aliens xeno figs.
Really cool line, I like to think that the queen face hugger was just a way to make a face hugger a kid could kind of get on their face
Oh, like a role-play item!

I called that out the first time I saw the movie as a kid!
miss that toy line lost all mine in a fire
Oh no!

The kenner toyline inspired me to get into the Dark Horse comic series because of their aliena predator and terminator toy lines
Dark Horse did some fun stuff.
I have the other queen alien toy. It also has a button in it's hip that makes it whip its upper body and tail.
Yeah, we did the Aliens in an older episode.

I had all the humans as a kid, even O'Malley and Ajax
Nice!
The alien figures are amazing. Always thought the human figures were boring.
Yeah, same.
It's a shame they don't have the accessories for Vasquez. She came with a gun that actually looks like the pulse rifle.
Yeah, she's the one we didn't get fresh from the pack.
It's a Tony episode!
He's so famous.
Fantastic episode, really enjoyed it. Any plans for more episodes with Far point?. Would love to see those guys again.
I'm always game. They have been so busy lately.
For real ! Been awhile since they been on

We all have regrets.
Ooh, nice long episode!
Yeah, this one was pretty substantial.
I remember having all the aliens and I had Corporal Hicks and Bishop in the humans. I still have them all somewhere. My favourite action figures as a kid.
Great show, Thanks all
Glad you enjoyed it!
Australia also got the red shirt Vasquez wave.
I actually bought that female figure from Congo & made her Ferro the dropship pilot from Aliens.
That's cool!

I forgot about the spring loaded waist.
Don't forget the best Marine, A-TAX and his big bad bug suit
We talked about him!

Understandable, but I'm sure the Xenos out sell the Marines by a big margin.
The likeness issues with them seem to be the problem. We may never see another Paxton or Biehn figure
