    Hi Dan. Looks like timber kit house. Up here in Scotland the majority of new houses built have been timber kit for the last 30 years or so. Initially it was 100mm timber stud fully insulated with vapour barrier and plasterboard on the inside. OSB with building paper on the cavity side, cavity and brick or rendered block as an outside skin. Modern kits are now typically 150mm stud fully insulated. Some also have additional insulation on the inside of the stud before the plasterboard. We rarely have inside block skin now. Soil pipe sleeve is a no no though. Good video

      That’s interesting to know mate! Thank you, this house is about 30

    • @ScottPark-t2l
      @ScottPark-t2l 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Soil pipe is to protect the flue from kit shrinkage.Flues have to be sleeved in kit houses according to building regs.here in Scotland.

    • @WilliamBell-tj9sq
      @WilliamBell-tj9sq 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ScottPark-t2l Agree flue requires sleeve through the kit but not a plastic soil pipe. the sleeve must be metal or other non-combustable material. This is primarily to prevent the spread of fire through the cavity. In the event of a fire in, for example a downstairs room, a plastic sleeve could quickly transfer fire into the cavity and into upstairs rooms.
