I have a 40l that fits the dimensions of under seat bags. It's all I am bringing on my 16hr long haul. I have 8 days of clothes and a washer and dryer where I am headed. It's a backpack/ carry bag. I'll buy a cheap suitcase for souvenirs for my return trip that I'll check.
While it may fit under the seat, it definitely doesn't meet the majority, if not all, of the personal item size guidelines. I don't know why that bugs me me, but it always does when I see people with a carry-on item and a "personal item" that is the same size. lol. I'm totally hating, I know.
Thanks for the great tips. I have started to wear the compression socks before I leave home and it has transformed how I feel after the flight, plus, one less thing to carry.
@thetravelcoaches I returned the Wandrd 21L and the knock off BesNfoto bags in favor of the Bagsmart. It's not the best still but definitely better than the first two at least for me for the purpose of a personal item bag when traveling.
That is a great question! I actually use a money belt for all my long international travels. the money belt fits my passport, cash, credit card, and things like that. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the tips great help. Question.. do you have to put your drone into a tote going through security? My husband has one for his first trip to Europe.
Great Question! No, I normally do not take it out. Certain countries have different rules when it comes to drones, for example when going through India I had to take it out. But in Europe, he should be fine. If they ask to look at anything it might be the batteries that come with the drone. Thanks for watching our video.❤️
It can be when it is very full because as soon the roll top gets opened things tend to just fall out! With that being said though for under the seat use on a plane it works great. I am always looking to try and improve my travel set up and I will be experiencing with different bag set ups in the future. Thanks Tim for watching❤️
If travelers don't respect or invest any time to know the size limitations for their personal items, these conversations are moot. Far too often travelers bring personal items as large as their primary carry-on and choose to place BOTH in the upper bins (taking away space from others). This generally results in attendants demanding others check their carry-on at the last minute. You made no mention of the size of your bag but admitted it was probably too large. Average personal item size by airlines: 40 x 30 x 15 cm. Those of us who bring one bag have to be prepared for space being taken-up by people who bring oversized bags. Sadly, I now agree airlines should have mandatory sizes limits for all bags and mandatory measure before allowed on the plane.
20lbs isn't heavy for a backpack. Mine is 23.5 lbs stuffed, and it has lots of pockets for electronics. The airlines I am using says 22lbs, but mist airlines don't weigh your carry on if you don't seem to be struggling with it. My hiking backpack usually has 45 to 50 lbs. So this will work fine

This is great!! Just need to add snacks 😝

Valid!
If they want to sacrifice their own foot space, who cares? Really makes personal item size dimensions merely a guideline at best.

Great video as always. Great tips
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching
I saw a review of the BagSmart camera backpack, that's an amazing personal item bag! And cheap too!
I will check it out!! Thanks for watching❤️

Im going on my first flight next month and its a long distance flight too lol im nervous but excited
So Exciting!! have a great trip❤️
@@thetravelcoaches Thank you! I've been watching all your videos to prepare
Spork! Nice
This reminded me it’s not all about clamshell opening bags. 😂 Sometimes the top loading bags are still useful, like under seats in a plane. 😊
Glad the video was helpful! Thanks for watching❤️
Great video helped me a lot 😁
Glad you enjoyed it!
Always have something in my hands.
New video! Yes!!
Thanks for all your videos. Where do you put your passport and cash when going through security and once on the plane? Thanks

I always include my medications and my liquids bag
Good strategy!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching ❤️

Collapsible water bottle:👍
A heads up. In Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda, drones are not allowed.

Agreed, very annoying. I will move peoples stuff or ask them to take it out if it's above my seating area and a "personal item". lol
That backpack is giantic for the european cheap airlines
Dude that’s not a personal item backpack. May not even pass for a carry on in some airlines.
With Wandrd 31L, packing a mirrorless with a few lenses a laptop, you're probably already looking at 20lbs weight. That bag is heavy!

@justaguy68 Yes, most airlines don't, but when they do, you'll be forced to check it in. In any case, I'm not a fan of roll top design.
Everyone packs a swimsuit when they travel - it’s not weird
