I love how when Wilson asks House to promise not to let him die in the hospital House gently puts his hand on Wilson's hair, followed by that "ok, I promise". Never heard House use such a loving, genuine tone, not even with Cuddy.
Yeah I saw it in his face that he wanted to cry trying to hold back watching a Brother dying right in front of you wishing you could take all his pain emotions that he feeling and thinking but you can't
Watching this clip, I felt secure in the belief that the very next scene after House made that promise would be Wilson in an ambulance/hospital. I'm pretty sure I thought the same thing when I watched the series, too. I think it's time for me to re-watch the entire series.
Actually he does it quite a bit, 1 example the episode where the girl lies about her parents being dead, and then saying they raped her, which were both cover up stories because she felt guilt for her brother dieing, he sat down and was very sincere with her

So as a friend he doesn't want him to go through that.
When House gave Wilson his painkillers, and Wilson asked, "you have enough for the both of us?", you can just see how Wilson, no matter how much pain it caused him, would always care about House, and he always has since the beginning. And, House knowing he will be in agony as well by giving Wilson the Vicodin shows that, though his care for Wilson hasn't really ever been noticeable, it has always been there. I think it's a bit deeper than that. Wilson is indirectly saying that House deserves pain, and in a sense, House agrees with him. Which is why it matters later on when Wilson realizes what it means that House feels constant pain *all the time* without Vicodin. Frankly, a life of constant pain seems worse than a painful death.
@@TheEddagosp Actually, you get used to it. I haven't gone a day without leg pain in 18 years. It's not as bad as House's condition, but even my good days would still be bad enough to absolutely ruin the week of anyone who isn't used to it. People with chronic pain live differently. It's not just the limitations on what we can do, it's also constantly 'taking your temperature' in the sense of gauging your abilities and tolerance at any given moment, and having a completely different scale of what counts as "too much pain to keep going," compared to scales other people use.
Love him or hate him, one fact is undeniable: House does care. In his own twisted backwards ways, but he does. And will do literally anything for those who he cares for. Especially his best (arguable his only) friend.
In season 6 episode. Wilson donates his liver to his patient. Which house is against it Wilson asks house to be with him during operation. House says No. When Wilson asks why " HOUSE SAYS IF YOU DIE , I AM ALONE " just this quote shows the bond & friendship between Wilson & House. House cared about only Wilson more than anyone.. Both House & Wilson is a example of pure friendship.
I hope one day to come across such a friend to make me smile again after such hell. I have many friends but not one that ever go this far. I hope for that one day.
1:23 "If i didnt do nothing wrong, why did i die?" I watched this show for the first time 6 years ago and those words have stuck with me ever since. Such powerful and agonisingly sad words
The writers of House really like to do callbacks/references to previous events in the show. 5:28 is dead center exactly the same way House pleaded with Stacy about staying on their own personally designated treatment, and now House is in Stacy's shoes staring exactly at his past self.
I did chemotherapy once every two weeks for 1 year then maintenance for 2 more . I had stage 4 lymphoma non Hodgkin’s low grade follicular . My mother had small cell lung cancer she suffered like Wilson on chemo. I got lucky I never once puked never got sick just got weak and tired and my bones ached , no pain killers either due to a past drug addiction from a surgery . I’m 5 years in remission and still deal with symptoms but I’m 39 and I’m here with my children and wife so I count every minute as a blessing
the treatment I got was called RChop . I don’t know the details im not a doctor but I was told it was very aggressive due to the stage of my cancer . It was not only chemo it was Rutoxin short for rutoximob but it was not fun .
I really liked Robert Sean Leonard's role in dead poets society and I wanted to see him in other shows more and now I've only been in a House marathon. Didn't know it would ALSO bring me pain
This episode's ending added an extra 5 years to my life span. If I ever have memory loss severe enough to forget, this'll be one of the first things I need to re-watch.
Geez, the scene where house promises to wilson reminds me of my grandpa who died on our couch but at least my father kept his promise. Great acting, House MD FOREVER
The title had me thinking something else, Then I got all of these feels. The moment where Wilson gets super angry and says the most hurtful things he can to House and House still stays with him. I hope we can all have that strength in us.
I know how you feel, Wilson. Even the pathetic with adult diapers part. This clip highlights the most important thing you can give someone you love who is sick, miserable, or dying. A smile 😊❤ Even if they say they don't need it or want it, even if they say they don't want to see anyone, even if they say they're fine. Do everything you can to make them smile. You have no idea how much they need it. And honestly, from my own personal experience, neither does the sick person. I never realized how lonely and sad I was until I got a visit from someone when I was feeling terrible and said I didn't want to see anyone. They didn't talk, but they didn't leave. After a while I let it all out. And cried. Then eventually smiled and even laughed. There wasn't a better present in the world that I could have gotten. I didn't know how much I needed it.
The answer to why bad things happen to good people is equal to a cat in a mixer. The mixer is the world, and sometimes, the world is a little more ON than usual. But the world is a mixer nonetheless, no matter what cat is in it.
In a cruel and sad way, I think it's better that we get things that we don't really deserve, be it good or bad. Just imagine how sad and depressing life would be in a world where you get what you actually deserve. Imagine that in that world you dont get really good things, like getting an apartment by yourself or finding a job you enjoy that pays well, but you only get like the 5/10 experiences in life, while your childhood friend randomly wins the lotto, suddenly falls in love with a random stranger in Vegas and starts a small restaurant chain with her wife. Imagine how sad and depressing would be a life where you get stabbed and you deserved it, because "Life is fair"
The most amazing part was Wilson's newfound understanding of "you feel that most of the times??" Also, it's pretty obvious House loves Wilson a lot more than his love for Cuddy....
This reminds me of a friendship, at the end of a life, from the real world. Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra were close friends but had a falling out. One day, Dean called Frank out of the blue. Very unexpected. He asked Frank if Frank would like to hear a joke and Sinatra said yes. So Dean asked Frank, "What did one casket say to the other casket?" Frank didn't know, so Dean told him: "is that you, coffin?" which made Frank laugh. A few hours later, Dean Martin died. Imagine that, a dying man making a joke out of the whole thing just to hear his friend laugh one more time. I'm sure it eased Sinatra's greif to know his friend was thinking of him and their friendship even at the end.
I have never seen an episode so deep and emotional in any tv series I’ve watched in my life. However, I have a question for doctors or/and med students: the treatment that Wilson was planning for himself could have actually worked? I don’t know anything about medicine but I always thought that it was useless and just painful... And I don’t understand why they already know that the cancer is lethal after just one chemo session.
Chemo reduces the size of tumor so it is easy to operate. Some tumors respond well to chemo while some are resistant to it. Here tumor on wilson didnt shrink after chemo...
the part i like is when wilson acknowledges that house's life sucks with the amount of pain he's constantly in, it just feels so validating for him to say that, and the reason house glosses over it so much is that he cares for wilson enough to not make it about him, even though thats assumed to be his character i think its a good beat that people miss
House getting the strippers so he could surprise Wilson when he got back has to be one of the deepest things house has done. Sure he took care of Wilson and even dipped into his own stash for his friends sake, but the pics of strippers really showed that House was willing to do whatever it took to help Wilson during and after.
The kid was a cancer patient of his who died and yes before he died he gave his toy robot to Wilson. Wilson felt guilty about not being able to save him. Poor Wilson.
Wilson in his pain state effectively saying "you deserve to have Cancer" to House was a shocker. And i love they kept the flubbed line in at 5:35ish when House says he doesnt have the tools to help him. He slurs and carries on, it feels more real that way.
About to finish the show, on the last few episodes, just finished this one up and man I cried during these scenes… so much emotion, so much love, so much heart… they’re such amazing friends, and could really teach some lessons.

Somehow I find that hard to believe. I believe there is a cure discovered many years ago. Just think how much money would be lost if the cure was revealed. All those drugs for Chemotherapy make Big Pharma billions per year. Just follow the money.

What's worse than living in pain is living without Wilson.
Things that he didn't mean, as illustrated at 7:34.
Well he's in great pain...
People in such condition usually became so emotional, they'll say anything even if it's hurtful
To whoever keeps running this channel: much love!!!
“yeah, but at least id feel like i deserved it” poor house. poor wilson. this whole episode breaks my heart
Yeah. You could tell that really hurt to hear but that it wasn't a priority right then for House.
Love him or hate him, one fact is undeniable: House does care. In his own twisted backwards ways, but he does. And will do literally anything for those who he cares for. Especially his best (arguable his only) friend.
In season 6 episode. Wilson donates his liver to his patient. Which house is against it
Wilson asks house to be with him during operation. House says No. When Wilson asks why " HOUSE SAYS IF YOU DIE , I AM ALONE " just this quote shows the bond & friendship between Wilson & House.
House cared about only Wilson more than anyone..
Both House & Wilson is a example of pure friendship.
Wilson's laugh at the end was great. House is a good friend and he realized this.
I hope one day to come across such a friend to make me smile again after such hell. I have many friends but not one that ever go this far. I hope for that one day.
I can
Then they are not true friends
we can be that friend for someone else
often jerks who slap reality in your face like a huge middle finger will do this things for you. trust me, I know.
Hello
The way he laughs at the end when he sees the little montage house made for him
Was gold
This was the epitome of Wilson and House. A tough friendship, but one full of love. I enjoy seeing house caring for Wilson.
This is almost as sad as them having to mute the music on the slideshow to avoid being flagged.
House is such an amazing friend. They are lucky to have each other.
Yin and yang can't have one without the other
1:23
"If i didnt do nothing wrong, why did i die?"
I watched this show for the first time 6 years ago and those words have stuck with me ever since.
For the people that didn't understand the subtext, Wilson is going through the five stages of dying.
These two truly love each other. This was one of the best written shows on television.
Even official tv re-uploads have to mute songs, what a sorry state youtube is in.
" At least I don't have cancer " .... what a line
And did you see House's millisecond smirk just before Wilson sees laptop ...
it’s extremely well played, in a level that when you watch, you’re getting exposed to huge pain.
Different chemo drug, different doses……
the treatment I got was called RChop . I don’t know the details im not a doctor but I was told it was very aggressive due to the stage of my cancer . It was not only chemo it was Rutoxin short for rutoximob but it was not fun .
That "everybody lies" House snuck in was perfect
I really liked Robert Sean Leonard's role in dead poets society and I wanted to see him in other shows more and now I've only been in a House marathon. Didn't know it would ALSO bring me pain
Same like why is it always him 😫
One of my favourite scenes from the whole series! I cried like a baby when Wilson started laughing...
Robert Sean Leonard is probably the most underrated actor ever. He is brilliant. The vast majority of the cast is, btw.
The casting on this show was second to none. One of the best series ever IMO
This episode's ending added an extra 5 years to my life span.
If I ever have memory loss severe enough to forget, this'll be one of the first things I need to re-watch.
yeah, just gotta remember to re-watch
me who's about to start season 5 but ended up rewatching season1
Robert Sean Leonard should've won multiple awards for this performance. He was brilliant.
Geez, the scene where house promises to wilson reminds me of my grandpa who died on our couch but at least my father kept his promise. Great acting, House MD FOREVER
8:10 Wilson finally understood what life was like from house's perspective
The title had me thinking something else, Then I got all of these feels. The moment where Wilson gets super angry and says the most hurtful things he can to House and House still stays with him. I hope we can all have that strength in us.
“Just remember they’re a gift, so it’s rude to keep throwing them up” 😂😂😂😂
I know how you feel, Wilson. Even the pathetic with adult diapers part.
This clip highlights the most important thing you can give someone you love who is sick, miserable, or dying.
A smile 😊❤
Even if they say they don't need it or want it, even if they say they don't want to see anyone, even if they say they're fine.
I was balling my eyes out the first time I saw this episode. Crying and laughing at the same time. House is the ultimate bro
Wow, Hugh and Robert both did such an amazing job with this.
I just love the last scene gets me emotional.
And its great script writing with english sarcasm and wit. The fact hugh laurie is a comdien explains his perfect dead pan humor.
I loved the last season of this show. It really showed how much House care about his only friend.
Seeing Wilson made me think why bad things happen to good people ?
At least they could've been bad so as to make them feel "deserved" for the pain
I nearly cried the first time I saw this episode, and almost gets me everytime. I love this show
The saddest part is the fact that very few people have a relationship like this in real life.
The most amazing part was Wilson's newfound understanding of "you feel that most of the times??"
Also, it's pretty obvious House loves Wilson a lot more than his love for Cuddy....
Probably one of the few things house did out of genuine care for someone and not self gain
That is several levels of thoughtful. House truly cares about this man. You don’t need much more evidence than this.
Here tumor on wilson didnt shrink after chemo...
the part i like is when wilson acknowledges that house's life sucks with the amount of pain he's constantly in, it just feels so validating for him to say that, and the reason house glosses over it so much is that he cares for wilson enough to not make it about him, even though thats assumed to be his character
i think its a good beat that people miss
House getting the strippers so he could surprise Wilson when he got back has to be one of the deepest things house has done. Sure he took care of Wilson and even dipped into his own stash for his friends sake, but the pics of strippers really showed that House was willing to do whatever it took to help Wilson during and after.
In season 8 we got to see that House really cares about Wilson and it's so cute😍and this episode is so sad 😭
When Wilson is laughing at the end, you see the toy robot from the cancer kid patient of his who died that he was hallucinating about 💔💔💔
Did the kid give it to him before he died, or is this just one of those things like someone leaving their coffee cup in a shot?
The kid was a cancer patient of his who died and yes before he died he gave his toy robot to Wilson. Wilson felt guilty about not being able to save him. Poor Wilson.
The irony of being petrified of going to the hospital as a doctor, very cool very cool
Embarrassment is one hell of a deterrent
I’d kill for a friend like House.
We should all strive to be as good of a friend as House is
Me too. I need some vicodin, stat!
The whole world abandoned you but there's only one friend that stay with you.
Okay to be fair though House is the friend all people with chronic illnesses want. He has lived it and understands and he really does care allot.
their friendship was so well written.
The ending of this was one of my favorite moments from the whole show. Really wish they did a standalone mini series or film showing they're adventures after the finale
Wilson blaming himself is like newton blaming himself because grandma broke her hip falling down the stairs. The guy discovered the cancer he didn't cause it
Just sad. Fact that we STILL don't have a cure for cancer is just heartbreaking.
And we never will, the only way you stop cell growth is dying
Somehow I find that hard to believe.
I believe there is a cure discovered many years ago.
Just think how much money would be lost if the cure was revealed. All those drugs for Chemotherapy make Big Pharma billions per year.
Just follow the money.
Thank God we didn't have to see Wilson pass away. I honestly wouldn't have been able to go through that.
Everyone deserves a friend like House!!
5:44 this is the most emotion I have ever heard House
House is one of the few shows that didn't squander its final episode and also i can't think of any episode that was bad
Also house have up his pain meds to Wilson even tho house finds them essential for him to get through anything this shows that house really does care about Wilson
Anyone else here understand how lovely a cold floor can be when sick?
Yes, I do lmao. I have a condition where my blood pressure is very unstable so it drops to very dangerous levels, and when it happens, it feels horrible, even if I'm in my bed getting on the ground is weirdly comforting, also once I was very drunk that when I got home I puked my heart out. I couldn't even stand up from how bad I felt after puking that I just got down on the patio floor and I almost fell asleep there because it the cold felt very good LOL
"An oncologist with cancer, of all the things that could be killing me. It's like the universe giving me the big middle finger."
No Wilson, that was just the writers running out of ideas.
In the description, it said this was from season one- I’m confused because I thought Wilson had cancer in season 8
I thought it seemed weird that the description said this was season one.
And Cuddy said No to this man. Because he wasn't "there" for her.
She can't be sure, because she doesn't truly understand him. He will do it for Wilson and even thirteen. Of cox her too
It was done because Lisa Edelstein had to be removed from the show. So they made them break up.
@@AnimeCritical why was she removed?
@@americanrroyalty She was asking the same money as house and Wilson. That is same money as main cast because she was kind of in the main role after becoming house's girlfriend. But the show creators wanted to keep paying her support cast money.
So she was removed from season 8 and for that reason the story was changed to house not being able to support her, them breaking up, house being a worse doctor because of her, to house crashing his car in her house (something that doesn't fit house's character) and lastly Foreman being dean of medicine.
TH-cam muted part of this videos audio due to copyright of a Journey song. A song the show got the rights to use for this episode and clip. The clip being played on the youtube channel owned by the show itself.
How much do you guys wanna bet that whatever shell company filed the claim has absolutely nothing to do with the band?
House's editing skills are on points.
Wow, even the official channel's got to watch out for copyright strikes? I mean, that Journey song at the end plays through the end in the actual episode.
I know this is probably super obvious but the way you can see the color come back to his face when he is looking through the pictures is so perfect
We really need that post-Wilson’s death movie
El camino a doctor house movie
@@mark0183 Oh my God. Genius.
Because I'm gay, because I somehow managed to live through the AIDS epidemic, this and the previous clip bring back horrible and loving memories. I have no doubt that this shows us a true bromance. It's not just respect, it's love. A friendship in sickness and in health. I like being teased about their relationship...to me, they really should have been a couple. But this scene is just so excellent. I've watched this many times.
One of the best bromances ever put to TV.
I’m an addict and the idea of loving someone so much you give them the last of your drugs is amazingly moving.
I wonder if non addicts understand how hard that is..
I don't, i'm not sure i ever will but it must be very noble
You’re not alone bro
Trust me man, they never will... But that's okay because we do.
Did you really had to lower the volume of the song just to avoid copyright? Rights you bought to play the song in the show?? Wow
TH-cam doesn't know they have the rights
It's probably youtube who did this not them. It happens automatically when their system spots copyrighted music in the video I think it can be reverted manualy if they contact youtube with the evidence of having those rights but I'm not sure
@@Grubenz probably not tho this show is nearly 2 decades old and the rights to the song probably no longer exists but then again it was on netflix like not too long ago so idk
It's messed up.
