Thanks for watching my channel. As for the sound crunching, it's very common, please lubricate the sound regulator with wd40 or something similar. Also lubricate all other switches and regulators. As for finding radio stations, there's a simple system, a plastic strip, I don't think you'll have a problem. As for the belts, you email me, I will repair the same one after the new ones, I can help you.
Hey! Just bought this from goodwill. Mine seems to have the same belt issue yours has, along with some contact issues (scratchy volume knob, tuning knob functions but doesnt move the slider). Where can i buy the belt needed to repair this? Or how can i figure that out? Thank you!
I just bought one off eBay with the tape part not working. So I’m trying to figure out when I get it in how to possibly fix this common problem with vintage boomboxes and take players, Also, I was trying to replace the one I had and thought it was the FM 27, but then I saw a FM 16 and that one look more like the one I had and I guess was the earlier model. Anyway, thanks for posting and keeping these great machines another life and preserving them also.
Also, it’s too bad electronics repair shop and tv repair shops mostly went out of business. Bc back in the days, you didn’t have to try to fix on your own and took to them. Also the disposable era also made it easy to just get rid of the old and buy a new one. Look at all the vacuum cleaners and microwaves you see thrown out on the sidewalk
Sorry, I don't remember. But it is very important to choose the right length and width. I had installed one that was a little too thin. Everything worked fine, but there was a problem with the autoreverse. Not enough power. When I changed to a thicker one, everything was fine.
i got a few units of this particular model,, I upgrade one of them with Bluetooth and new speakers, new belts and works fantastic!

Awesome tutorial! Very easy to follow. Does anyone know what size belt this uses?
