"The Rape of Nanking" is what they were referring to. I believe you were thinking of "Unit 731" which also took place during WWII. They are extremely disturbing topics. I legit can't recommend that anyone investigate it, but at the same time, we can't allow these things to be swept under the rug.

They did everything from seeing how long someone can live wuthout certain organs to seeing what a grenade does to someone and how far out it kills. The US government also pardened the leader of the Unit to get all the research after the war. We learned a lot about diseases from Unit 731 giving candy to kids in china. Youd be surprised at what stuff we use now that came from all of that research.

      Well said, agree 100%
The Rape of Nanking is the atrocity that nobody learns about in the West… In school we all learn about the Holocaust, yet the Rape of Nanking was every bit as cruel and barbaric as the Holocaust, honestly
Fine examples of the utter cruelty and evil humans are capable of visiting on our very own
The Armenian Genocide is another example… The modern government of Turkey wants to sweep it under the rug, just as the modern government of Japan wants to downplay the Rape of Nanking, but history cannot allow that to happen

One thing that no one seems to remember when wondering why the Allies did not just go in with all guns blazing earlier. The leaders of France and the UK at the time had just 20 years earlier watched basically an entire generation of men get torn to shreds in the last great war....they were willing to try almost anything that would not repeat that. In hindsight we can see that they would have been better off being more proactive, but that is with hindsight of what happened.

Britain and France had little choice but to try and appease Hitler. Neither country was ready for war...not even in when they did declare war in 1939...that is why there was the "phony war" period. However, even more than that, the Brits and French had no choice because their people were absolutely opposed to war...and the will of the people actually mattered in Britain and France, at least in some way, as opposed to they way it was in the dictatorships. The British and French people did not want to go to war to save Austria or the Sudetenland or even all of Czechoslovakia. Even when war was declared in September of 1939, the British and French people were not all that enthusiastic about going to war for Poland. People today think that appeasement was an actual strategy...it was not...it was what happened because there was nothing else Britain and France could do. 🖖✌

In regards the RAF’s casualty rates during the blitz, they were often lower than reported or believed as they were flying over home soil, and any pilot who bailed out his plane and survived could fly again soon enough. German pilots on the other hand spent the rest of the war in POW camps in GB, Canada, South Africa, or Australia instead of fighting another day.

So some interesting stuff has been coming out about Chamberlain in recent years that the UK government has been sitting on even as appeasement was taking place... While he was appeasing Hitler and publicly pushing for peace and not provoking Hitler by building up Britain's armed forces, he was behind the scenes working to build up Britain's military ASAP because he actually knew appeasement wouldn't work and was only hoping to buy time(which very much annoyed Hitler - he was hoping they would reject the Czechoslovakia agreement and give him an excuse to go to war) to do it in.
Some of this info also indicates that the only region he intended to let Hitler keep was a small but significant section of the Sudetenland that Germany had a major legitimate claim for, and the he may have been willing to eventually go to war himself over the rest if Hitler had not invaded Poland.
So why did the UK sit on this info until recently? Well, APPARENTLY in order to help keep the buildup secret, Chamberlain probably did some very underhanded and possibly illegal shit to move funding around for it. The kind of shit that gets politicians kicked out of office if found out.
The problem with this info is that it's been sat on for so long, and details about the funding movements is so spotty, that we will probably never be able to verify ANY of it. Which is a real shame since this would be a pretty god damn big deal if it could be proven.
All but the harshest historians admit that Britain needed the time provided by appeasement, but it's only recently as this information has started coming out that some have begun to soften on Chamberlain. It's strange to realize that it's very possible that Chamberlain's only true fuckup was how he handled the start of the war.

    • @kabirconsiders
      @kabirconsiders  3 ปีที่แล้ว

One thing that I’ve read about WWII is that the British, French and to a lesser degree the United States were more collaborators with Germany at least in the beginning.
Remember the biggest fear/threat in the west in the 1920s and 1930s was the Soviet Union and Stalin and the fear the Bolshevik would spread westward. They wanted to keep the Soviet Union in check and the west was using Germany to do so, that’s why despite Germany’s aggression the British and French gave Germany the territory they wanted. Their plan was to keep Germany satisfied and send Germany to oppose the Soviet expansion in the East. Stalin saw the potential threat from Germany and wanted to form and alliance with the British and French who refused.
This lead to the Soviet-Germany non aggression pact which killed the French/British plans to use Germany against the Soviet Union. Even after declaration of war, for about a nine month period nothing big happened on the western front leading to what was called the Phony War as the west was still trying work out an agreement with Germany until the battle of France began.

Yes the US did get involved, but after the point of the blitz strategy by Hitler in the UK. December 7th 1941, Pearl Harbor, is when the US got involved. Before that, the merchant marines and lend lease were the only real support from the US. Merchant marines took food, war materials, etc from the US to Britain to keep the war effort going. Lend lease allowed the Us to legally let the UK “borrow” ships, guns, bullets, everything needed to prosecute a war. It was supposed to be illegal to sell any of these to the warring parties, so the loophole to help only Britain was lend lease, where they were technically “borrowing” it.

This Oversimplified is pretty decent...but there are errors in it. Most are minor, but there are issues with the script about Hitler's rise to power, to varying degrees. For one thing, Oversimplified says that "the German people loved him", but that is not factually correct, he needed to specify that a portion of the German people loved Hitler...and not even a majority. The Nazis never managed to get more than about 35% support in any of the elections, but they were able to use that to force President Hindenburg to appoint Hitler as Chancellor by leaving no other option. I know this is about "Oversimplifying" history, but it still needs to be factually correct and not misleading. You actually asked a really good question about how does a guy with a record become Chancellor...because Oversimplified left out just a bit too much information.🖖💯✌

He actually makes other mistakes in the second part...but I still like that he makes the effort. So i must fix it a little bit because it's a little bit wrong and details are important in that topic... besides I'm German and we do learn way way much more about this whole thing because our land wanna say it was absolutely bad because it's just true.
So Hitler was really psychological at the end, really, he was not right in the Head Wich is proved. It has many reasons like this one Art school if they would have take him as a student this whole thing would be not happened. Because many things that make him so strong and important was actually luck like the German eiche table that saved his live on a bomb attack or the Versailler contract Wich was completely unfair (his Art was even not that bad... So wow Art school)
His ideology was wrote in prison it was just all propaganda shit with the "Arische" race like he was an Austrian and told the "Germans" (Because the Nazis were no real Germans they wanted to destroy our democracy) how a German has to look like and more shit like this.
He only was a really really good speaker like he was not even really smart he was actually really dumb in military Strategy like most of the things did his generals.
Most people say "how could they just follow him" Wich, Sorry, i think is extremely difficult and dumb to say because it were hard times,... Germany was absolutely down from ww1 they had no food, no water discrimination and the Versailler Contract made Hitler that important because he used it and said it was all unfair (Wich was mostly true because Germany don't started ww1 and Germans were really really proud at that time so they really don't liked it) so he said i can fix this give you food, water, Work and what you must say even he was a absolutely mad man - at the beginning he did all that! He gave them all that and his group made smart decisions like creating main roads and when you have children at home that had nothing to eat you must follow him because at the beginning he seemed good and did good things even he was inside a absolutely insane person. time and time passed and the shit came out like holocaust and the Germans realized that he was absolutely crazy so many real Germans made underground groups and there were so many attacks on him but all failed. Many many good people lost there life's in the revolutionary groups like the Great Major: He had Hitler in his hand because he worked himself up and was winning Hitlers trust so before a special meeting he placed a bomb under the table and it worked... Not because the Table that was made from the tree German eiche protected Hitler I mean it was German handwork this table was unbreakable.. In that time the major was in the Parlament and was so close to bring Hitler down they had a great plan they said all that was the SS and NSDAP Hitlers groups and they had good prove but... In the last minute Hitler came and give the command to shot them down. Rest in peace
If he would have not been absolutely crazy and hear his generals out that he should finish the first front and than attack Russia we would probably speak all German today! because Nazi Germany was really Strong probably the strongest army and There are many psychological facts about the army that are really smart like the Nazis were just stylish at that time.. And what you must say even they were shit this black uniforms with the skeleton heads just looked awesome and there all had the same size so it looked really really good and cool when there walked its really psychological smart. But we can be happy he was a absolutely mad man and complete crazy Wich again is proved so we can live free now more or less.. better if he would have won
