- Vampire Survivors Part 3 - no powerups / meta upgrades. Just going in raw, as if it's my first ever game. It's harder, actually, because there's a wider pool of ingame upgrades. My synergies are diluted.

This is a sweet challenge, somehow manages to be difficult at all stages of the game. Would highly recommend.

18:28 I like that whenever a big crowd of enemies appear the video quality drops to near 144p even when I am on 1440p.

a lot of pixels changing = bitrate die
That's compression algorithms for ya. TH-cam wouldn't be possible without them but when a lot of pixel change radically it really shows. Snow, confetti and similar things are terrible for quality and the worst being white noise. Without compression, a 1440p video would need to be streamed with ~5.3 gigabits per second (3,686,400pixels/frame x 60fps x 24bits/pixel).

15:00 on library there are two secret drops, if you go right (like you did) you can find the stone mask. If you go left, however, you can find empty tome on one of the seats next to a table. You can also find multiple copies of these items if you just continue to go right or left for multiple free levels. Using this strat you can have up to 8 items. They spawn randomly though so you might find them quickly or it might take a really long time

@@soup3583 The game can handle it just fine. On Tyler's screen it would look unchanged. It's the video compression that can't keep it pretty while having an efficient bitrate.

@@soup3583 it's a TH-cam thing rather than game or computer. Search up why confetti ruins TH-cam. Or something to that effect
9:00 ive been playing this a lot recently and im pretty sure as you move too far away gems will actually get dragged along with you slightly offscreen and when there are too many the game starts combining them into one red gem like the one you found here! i suspect this is to reduce lag from having tons of gems spawned with their own unique positions, it would just be too much with the infinite map system in place. though i don't think the game does this with items, i believe they stay in one spot permanently which makes sense because they are much less common :)
This is correct! That one red gem is typically a lot more than just 100 xp too, which is what reds usually give. It would be maybe-nice if it had its own model to signify it's the big thing, but it's also fine and a little charming to keep it as just a red :)
you can actually just walk straight into the medusa heads, rock monsters and green blobs with garlic, as all of them are either at 1 or very low health, and the garlic hits enemies as they come into the radius. This also woks with bats in the fields and can net you a ton of XP in library.
yep, you can get quite a few levels bevor minute 1 :D just walk down the enmy line, go right, walk up the next enemy line etc :D
I’m glad this series has continued I expected it to be a one episode wonder but this was a great surprise!!

I noticed you dont have the secret character unlocked I think that'd be a fun follow up video if you intend to do more. Just do a quick google search as I dont want to spoil but you have to type something in in the character select screen to unlock him. His weapon is the dove and if you get both doves to lvl 8 there is a synergy :)

Eh you would never even know this character existed unless someone told you or you came across it in a guide or something. For those that want to try to hunt I gave them a starting point. You guys are free to your opinions. I still think it would be cool to watch.

tip even if the bigger guys go off the map the chests still spawn in the map so no need to worry about that
You should try the screen wipe when the last enemy at 30 mins is on screen.

A good strategy when starting with double whip is quickly changing direction so it tricks the game into thinking that your back is your front and your front is your back so it basically deals double damage
Since level 1 garlic insta kills the first enemy on Library, you can just run into the crowds and take no damage, instead of trying to keep them in the garlic circle
Iv been watching you since BTD Battles, and beyond, and you never fail to make exciting content💪🏻👍🏻
The nice thing about Poe is that garlic lets you just charge through early enemies without worrying about taking damage until you see the first elite/skeletons
Wow, I didn't even think that challenge was possible! If you want a more fun although probably easier challenge there is a secret challenge character to unlock. If you type in x-xviiq in the character select screen, back out and then go back in you unlock Exdash, who has 100% base luck but way worse stats overall. They're pretty fun, I'd recommend giving them a go!
I'm really glad that you played this more than once! The game is not only really fun, but the devs are super cool and the modding is super intuitive.
Knife would have been really good in that hallway map, you'd be able to dig a hole in either direction easily, and since enemies only come from those two directions the tunnel might stay clear for longer?
I might pick up this game soon.
honestly idk if its just me but the library feels like a free win, the high health enemies dont show up until its way too late unlike the first map where those werewolves show up before most builds have scaled to the point where they can quickly be killed
Just saying, you actually CAN just walk through the enemies in the beginning. They don't immediately disappear cause they have a death animation, but as soon as they are dead they lose their hitbox
The green blob enemies are based off the "Ectoplasm" enemy in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (in the Hreat Library area to boot!). Yup basically a floating blob of screaming ghostly heads.
Its one of the greatest Metroidvania's ever made, highly recommend!
This game seems pretty fun, missing Strange Horticulture a lot though

If your liking this game I would recomend nova drift its a bullet hell based around asteroids but if asteroids was on crack. You can pick A hull, weapon and shield and upgrade said base gear with tier tree based upgrades or mutations it has a very good visuals and I would think you would enjoy it a lot.
Tyler making more than 3 videos is a sign this is a fun game. Can confirm.

Just a tip, you can rush through everything on library with garlic and speed level until 3 minutes when the skeletons spawn, no need to just skim the crowd, just run through them
I bought this game because of your first video. It's so frustrating and satisfying at the same time.
Do a “showcase” of all ascended weapons through different runs if you have the time. It’d be cool to see how you use them in a natural run
Tyler the library has a free Empty Tome if you walk left and Stone Mask if you walk right. Also the right spawns more enemies

With garlic you can just walk straight through the starter enemies
At 13:42 no enemies on left is a combination of axe, running right and in library fewer enemies spawn left for some reason.
if your not aware aliensrock, there is a secret ghost character you can unlock in the game. but its currently only obtainable with a cheat code. its a very challegenging character to play due to how its passive is

No, he's immune to the effects of insta-kill items like that and the pentagram. You are not meant to be able to do anything against him.
You can however, perma freeze him with the clock lancet. I managed to survive for an extra minute before a second one spawned and killed me
@@west1694 It is possible to survive a while afterwards if you use the clock Lancet and laurel. Also if you get them caught on one of the structures inside the library then you can survive until the next death spawns super easy.
You can only get upgraded weapons through chests so it might sometimes be smart to save them until you reach level 8 on the weapon (especially late game)

with lvl1 garlic on the library you can just walk through all enemy's up to the mummy's without worry. no need to stop or kite just walk into them.

I love how the characters' names are all in Italian
You can do 6 evolved weapon run with duplicator. First way is to use library, cuz it has empty tome on the ground in like a minute walk to the left side, and after updates you can take birds synergy which don't need any items.
I think you should consider doing the "Fresh savefile challenge".
Beat the first stage with a fresh savefile using Antonio, on the first try, the point is to win without the stuff you unlock later.
Duplicator evolves lightning ring now ;)

If you want "the hardest challenge", use the hidden character.

try the character with the magic wand (milisa something, yes I butchered that) use garlic, cross, whip, santa's water, rune, luck, speed, damage, weapon cooldown, and duplicator and you will reach the final vampire boss in no time. just make sure you max the speed and damage first

I think the library is a bit easier than the forest because you only have to worry about enemies on 2 sides instead of all around imo

A ranged enemy would suck late game, but I’d be down for one early game.
I'm not sure if you know, but there is also a secret character you can unlock with a "cheatcode" might be fun for a run

what happens if you take an insta-kill pendant when the death-god thing comes on screen at 30 mins? i tried to do it in a run and had the pendant there and everything, but i ended up dying before i could reach it... :(

In the description. No meta upgrades I understand, but "powerups," what is that?
Is this just, merely, and only, playing the game as if it was his first time? What's the challenge in that? Or is there some challenge I'm missing? It just looks like normal gameplay without any challenging limitations.
If people like this as being a challenge you could call it the "Beginner Challenge" if anything tbh.
I've just survive 33:03 minutes. They need to spawn 4 Grim Rippers to take me down xD
Starting from 30:00, every minute new Grim Ripper is spawned. They can't be killed, but you still can take drop from lights.
Tyler, you can just walk through the first two hordes of woodmen and flying snot using garlic, it instantly kills them so they can't hit you
also IMO whip is basically a wasted weapon slot, even with maxed meta and mortimer it will never spawn a whip attack at the height of your feet or below so it will never do damage to units below you, and you can't even just sit on the bottom bookshelf since not only do units spawn outside the bookshelves and attack you from below, but with large swarms they get pushing out-of-bounds and attack you from below aswell
I'd be interested in seeing if the amulet can kill the guy that comes at you at 30 minutes.
I would love if you make this a series maybe like a challenge series.

Are % bonuses added or multiplied (compounded)?
For example, if you start with 100 HP and get +10% max HP five times.
Is it 100 -> 110 -> 120 -> 130 -> 140 -> 150?
or
100 -> 110 -> 121 -> 133 -> 146 -> 161?
Wait wait wait, what happens if you use an Instant Kill trinket at the end of a run when that guy that kills you comes? Tyler, you have to do it, I know you can ... FOR SCIENCE !!!
Unfortunately both insta-kills in the game have no effect on him. its possible to survive a little with him around but you can't kill him.
You should hope for pentas and be pleasantly surprised when you get triple pulls from chests, fortune favors the bold after all.
The ultimate challenge: do this same challenge with the ex dash hidden character.
Hey Tyler not sure if you’ve avoided the tank strategy because it seems boring or not, but I’d love to see what you can do with it.
What happens if you use the amulet on the enemy that kills you at the end?
