- Vampire Survivors Part 29 - it's Christine Davain. I leveled up the pentagram, so I get a character that STARTS with a pentagram! Should be fun, also I quest to get 11 items for my first time ever.

Besides pentagram, what's the weapon that gets the most interesting with a crazy attack speed buff?

Why does TH-cam say this comment was posted nine hours before the video went up? Also probably garlic because then even if it doesn't one-shot some enemies the tick speed would mean that even high hp enemies can get shredded.

Kinda wanted to see this character with empty tome in action. Get Gorgeous Moon to go off every 10 seconds or something insane.
Agreed, apart from crown, it's the most important powerup item for this build. it's one of the few things that helps out gorgeous moon.
Empty tome, Clock Lance and Song of Mana.
It has a hard limit of 15 seconds between erasures
It pained me to see that he didn't get empty tome, I feel like part of the might nerf was based around the idea that you would be using empty tome
Also the birds with the crown, the birds come online very quickly.
I think the whole picking up where you left off thing is a great idea, keeps things exciting and let’s you potentially upload more losses that didn’t make it as long
Any weapon with christine and empty tome can almost perma knock back enemies

They should make duplicator affect pentagram so it has a burst fire effect. It would be almost entirely useless (except against elites) but it would be funny as hell
It would be antisynergy without evolving pentagram, since it's just more chances that the pentagram will delete all on-screen items

Doesn't really make sense. Duplicator affects projectile count and pentagram isn't a projectile, it's an area effect, like garlic or song of mana.
All the weapons in the game deal a range of damage, they have their set damage (e.g. 5) and then deal that in a range of minus/plus 5, so 0 to 10.
And a little hint, if you go for Clover you can replace Crown (talking about when you can't pick it up) and Heaven Sword. The low cooldown of her and the high luck (increasing crit chance) make Heaven Sword quite nuts and the Pentagram evolution is amazing, but it's not that beneficial overall.

Saying the pentagram evolution is not that great is truly bonkers when 9 times out of 10, gorgeous moon will top any and all weapons/evolved weapons in max DMG(no surprise there) but EVEN DPS, which is pretty nuts
@@Amodh1257 thats because of how it deals damage, it's pretty much a fake. It always deals max health damage to everyone, which means you can only overkill.
Just to explain the point: Imagine a weapon deals 100 million damage to everyone once in the game. It would have a couple billion in damage, but would you rate it well? And Gorgeous Moon is somewhere in between that weapon and a normal weapon.
@@DexTag your argument doesn't concur because the weapon your are describing that does 100 million damage once is quite simply not the pentagram evolution.
You could've said "ok so imagine the holy cross, but it only fires once and does 100 million damage to everything it hits... wOuLd yOu sTiLl rAtE iT wElL?/?"
The pentagram does a large burst of damage, clearing your screen after a set interval, which can be hyper-shortened. On top of that, it gives you extra EXP and even absorbs them all for you, it's practically playing half the game on it's own and shines both as a main weapon and a support to get your other upgrades super early.
I do really like including the early losses with a cut into where the next run picks up. You don't need to restrict it though, if you die 10+ mins into the first run I still feel like you only need to skip as far into the second run as it takes for you to get a couple weapons and things to start picking up
The early game, where you pick your build, is a lot more interesting than the midgame grind.

Whenever I can I go garlic, song of mana, and magic wand. Garlic/soup eater reduces knockback resistance, Manajjau slows enemies that it hits, and holy wand has insane knockback potential. Combine it with la borra, bracer and candelabra and you’ve got a near invincible build.
I really like this format, it feels smooth and seamless
When I saw how the run was going, I was already going to mention how much I appreciate the way uploads are made and how much effort that gets put into thinking about viewers, so you asking in the video about feedback is the perfect thing to do and right when I'm responding.
I feel like just getting caught up in a next run makes things interesting since that allows viewers to see the progress you made off camera and I really appreciate the info you said when the video got there

Solution for your early death runs: Put in highlights of said runs before the full run
The developer naming sense is literally gold, so funny with all the jokes he hid in the names

Wanted to say I enjoyed the format of the video. Picking up and summarizing what happened if you fail a run was a good idea.
Good run, i liked the way you bridged the two runs that was a good call.
If you max a secondary upgrade (clover etc) and pick up an item from the map it goes up to lvl 6+ just if you didn't know!

Fun fact: The holy cross in castlevania is a powerful and reliable sub weapon that cost more, but more powerful. It coming back is nod to its boomerang effect.
Love the split run. Hate knowing how it's going to end and 30 minutes is perfect.
Picking up where you left off on a new run is a fine idea, I think. The game is straightforward enough you can see more or less what happened by looking at the items
I like picking up where you left off is not too bad, but I would like to see a 1-minute montage of you picking the weapons/items and other important things that happens (jackpot chests, near deaths, etc.) that happened in the second run
Picking empty tome instead of armor would have been super nice to see. Just insane Pentagram spam

I think the cut to the same minute after death is a good idea, but I do feel a little out of place not really seeing how you get there, but I think if you did like a highlight reel of the first minutes of the run we didn't see, like seeing you pick some of the more important items or if there are any close calls or anything

Someday I'd like to see a video featuring a minimum-cooldown Gorgeous Moon. That would be a sight to see.
With the multiple clovers and spinach on the map, you could have actually gotten a level 6 clover and level 7 spinach! If you pick up one of them, level it up fully, then pick up the remaining ones, you can actually over-level.
Did they patch it? I remember in one vid over levelling candelabrador with the one on the ground didn't do anything
@@janong262 I'm not sure. I was able to do this just last week, so unless it's been changed since then, it should still work.
That's a no, from my experience. You cannot overlevel items.

@@quatern10n41 I've already 100% the game. Never tried it after experiencing it not working. You'd pick up the attract-orb in Dairy Plant but not getting improved magnet, when you checked your stats.
Also, regarding the 8 minute and then the reset, personally I just enjoy watching your videos in general, no matter the length, in fact if its longer thats even better at least for me.

Christine is the one makes you appreciate the defensive build, especially the machine gun defensive buff build
So I know it hasn't been noticeable but when I was doing my own run, I noticed it, the extra enemies from curse don't drop exp, at least from what I observed

I like the idea of picking up where you left off, I think maybe it could be good to show how you built the build so we have a better idea of the run you are doing. you know, maybe just a couple short clips of you picking up some of the weapons/items before cutting to the full gameplay where you left off

new character + empty tome + laurel = nearly infinite shield. its quite ridiculous how quick the new shields come up, even the reaper has trouble getting through

I don't think the earlygame is boring, since that's the time when the build takes shape and a lot of the decisions are made.
When you started including losses in main videos, I didn't know how to feel. I guess I was just always used to seeing creators win. But the way you've been doing it, I absolutely love it. I can enjoy the video almost like a story, because I truly don't know what's gonna happen.

The Game: The best healing evolved weapon and one of the best dps evolved weapon and fire wand.

3 - with all upgrades, but curse, reroll and skip
4 - get items only from bottom path SPECIFICALLY
5 - don't get any passive items from the ground
6 - don't break any rules. No exceptions
7 - rule 6 is the only exception of rule 6

26:45, you can see that pentagram is gonna activate and fail to kill the reapers
I mean I understand the format from a creator perspective but as a viewer we saw a 8min run where the most damage you took was from running INTO enemies, cause of the cross choice at the start. After that you skip the first minutes of a better run to have a seamless cut, but isnt that lowering the the overall quality of the run? I think in cases like that, where you wasn't even close for either a good build or deep into the run I prefer a whole new run more than "filling up the first minutes with a failure run and skip those minutes of a good run" because, lets be honest what good does it do for us see you running into everything and die instead of a solid run?
I think picking up where you left off is a great idea. Should really keep us on the edge of our seats in terms of losses.
Weapon idea: the dice, basically it can mimic literally ANY move in the game, but it has low cooldown and can't mimic evolved weapons until its evolved too (idk what it would evolve with tho)
Maybe skull and it would evolve to speed up the more enemies there are on screen or something.

Try and do a challenge run with Christine where pentagram is your only damage dealing weapon, I tried it and it was fun
For extra items you should take max the level then take the rest
You can go past the max level by taking the extra items after leveling up
the pick-up where you left off was a good idea I think.
early game again would have been boring. but you dying was bit of a surprise
to me, 4-5 minutes first run would be ok, 8 minutes and a fresh starts I would have to think about it. I think here it was done right, starting from a a bit painful run to a better one beginning minute 8, with a short info what was taken.
Everything looks like it does a random number from 5 above or below the regular amount but it is purely visual

Consistantly bad damage? Even with a might debuff (I think) garlic is still INSANE early-game. The -cooldown helps too!
Honestly I wouldn’t mind watching 2 runs, but i suppose it’s up to statistics. Maybe not every episode, but every few vampire survivor videos is a double feature

I would have preferred it if you did show the early-game of the second run. It felt a bit jarring to see you resume from eight minutes with a new build, I wish we could have seen that build take shape.

bit late to the party, but I just wanted to check- did you know that if you max out an item, then proceed to pick up the item from the map, you'll over-level the item? for example, on Mad Forest, you could potentially get a lvl 8 spinach.
I think you should play her again but get empty tome
