  • Regular draft beer cleaning is essential for home and commercial systems! You should be cleaning beer line and faucet parts every time you switch your keg. Watch Robert Hess clean beer lines and get great tips for cleaning your own draft system.

I used this video as a guide as I bought your clean beer lines kit. This helped out a lot but somethings I just had to figure out on my own which is not a bad thing as there are many kegerator systems. This made it much more easier. thanks for posting.

Cool! I don't have any of these items, but I find the whole deal interesting. Now something to say I know how to do because of a random video watched.

Great video, but at 1:12 you remove the faucet before removing/disengaging the coupler on the keg. If you do this, the pressure in the keg is going to force beer straight out of the shank as there is no faucet to stop it... I have done this myself.

+Chris Harding this is correct! Nice catch Chris, we mixed up the procedures in the edit.

You can run the cleaning solution through faucet just as long as you can attach it to the coupler and run it backwards.
The fitting that we sell in our cleaning kit attaches to the faucet however, so with our kits it's not possible. Hope that helps!

Cleaning recommended every half keg? You just did a good job convincing me to stick to bottles.

Is there any reason you didn't clean the tap that goes on the keg itself?

How much does the solution costs? What are overhead costs for starting up?

Hi Cole, the cost of the cleaning solutions varies depending on size and type, but most are currently under $20. The kits themselves also vary in price depending on type. Check out our website for more information and pricing! kegworks.com/draft-beer/cleaning-maintenance/

You need to use a tooth pick and make sure the two air bleed holes in the faucet are clear. I pump my solution from the shank down and thru the easy tap into a bucket.
