- I hope you enjoy this video tutorial. I pulled it out of the archives from the beginning of last fall. Please excuse  my new puppies noises,  and me getting over a cold. I had a lot of fun making this blanket pattern.

Can you please tell how many skeins of each color. Thank you and thanks for sharing
I used 6.5 red, 1 white, 1 black, remnant of gold. For the base, border would use more white.

It’s approximately 40x60 size
I watched this video and it’s great - my question is I see on some ends you drop a he last stitch and others you drop . Can you explain that process . Thank you . I want to make for my granddaughter for Christmas,
Sure thing. I double knit my color change rows like the white so they will be the same count across, others like the big red section isn’t a big deal to do that. It’s really personal preference, if you knit the end and then drop first stitch or double knit it last/first stitch. I always knit last stitch.
Will red bleed when washing
It definitely can. I recommend shout color catcher sheets in the wash. I have also prewashed red yarn in mesh laundry bags.
Brenda, I’m curious do you think a chunky blanket with a cancer ribbon in the middle is something that can be made ? I was asked to make one for a fund raiser and I’m not sure how to do it ?
Absolutely! Use graph paper to draw it out- each square a stitch. Another trick is to google cancer ribbon cross stitch and you may find a premade graph.

How many skeins of yarn do u need to make this blanket?
For medium size I use 6-7 red, 1 white and scraps of gold. 1/2 skein black. I use just over 1 skein white for border.

Question about burning. Does it hold up when washed?
@@stacyspears3366 yes, always do the tug test and no heat dry.

It depends on the size your doing. I use 6-7 red, 1 white, scraps of black and gold for a medium throw.
