  • The Nemco Easy Chopper 3 features everything you know and love about the Easy Chopper 2, but makes it better. The new color-coded push blocks and corresponding blade assemblies makes destructive mismatches a thing of the past. And now that the blade assembly is completely separate from the guide rods, switching between blades is easier than ever!

    I purchased the 1/2" model recently and so love how quick and easy it is and how safe compared to using a chef knife. I'm going all in and getting the 8 pt wedger, slicers and more dicer sizes. I love solutions that don't require electricity or electronics. Don't get me wrong, I have all the "gadgets" too...but there's just something so satisfying when you can be this efficient using gravity primarily.

    I spent $500.00 plus on the easy chopper 3 with added dicers and slicers. On my first cut, I was doing soup. I chopped carrots...they bent the blades...and chopped off lttle pieces of red from the pusher block. I notified the company...they said it IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO CUT CARROTS. ugh..... So, I suppose I have an expensive chopper...to do bell pepper, onion, and soft items. Not the ones that require more effort and you would love to have another way to cut, chop,. This wasnt the fault of Tundra...it is Nemco. They should make it clear what can and can not be cut with this item.

      You make a good point, and sorry to hear about the trouble. Did you ask Nemco if par cooked carrots would work? For carrots you may want a food processor outfitted with a dicing blade instead.

      Sorry to hear your experience.. how is it going now?
      Bought mine Easy Chopper 3 with red blades from Amazon just some days ago... and of course we started with a soup....
      We chopped carrots and even beets... but we did pre sliced them in circles... it works for us that way.
      So like you say it would not chop whole carrot? think it should not be a problem at all, probably you got bad item...
      See what they say on their site:
      "Suggested Uses
      The Easy Chopper 3 is the all-in-one heavy hitter for fast chopping, slicing and wedging of onions, tomatoes, potatoes, celery, peppers and other firm veggies. It’s even the go-to for cutting fresh herbs, like cilantro, basil, parsley and more. It even cuts cooked chicken and ham! This reliable versatility, combined with its user-friendly fringe benefits, makes it the perfect tool for any high-speed kitchen."

      "it would not chop whole carrot? think it should not be a problem at all"
      Actually, it IS a problem. The very thin blades cannot hold up to hard vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes; they can bend out of alignment and then they'll not have proper clearance from the parts of the pusher. Note that Nemco says it's for "fast chopping, slicing and wedging of onions, tomatoes, potatoes, celery, peppers and other FIRM veggies." [Empahsis added.] "Firm veggies" and "hard veggies" are not the same.

      Let me add. Etundra replaced my bent blade. 😄. Their customer service is tops. I’ll just have to replace the feet if they wear out. I use it almost weekly. Love it!

    Great product! Sharp enough for veggies, but not sharp enough to cut my finger to pieces when I had an oopsie at work today! Would recommend, just pay attention to what you're doing lol

      Can you please tell me if it slices tomatoes for sandwiches as well? I cant find an actual example this and that what I'm waiting to confirm before I buy. Thanks

      @@johnreed2278 If you want diced tomato then yes. However it will not slice. If you want tomato slices, but a decent knife that wont go dull immediately

    Nemco or Volrath.....?
    They both seem pretty darn good. What benefits of choosing one over the other in their Large Size models?

    How does this product hold up when chopping harder veggies, such as carrots or turnip? Thanks

      I have a similar one and I just now tried cutting a carrot. It worked fine. Before I was trying to cut a small slice of carrot that was too thin. What worked was cutting the carrot in half (it was about a 1 inch cut diameter,) then I place the 3 inch long top to bottom carrot on the dice blades and pushed down easily. So, yes, this type of manual machine does chop carrots in my experience.

    So these veggies aren't diced into small square? Just long 1/4 x 1/4 ...correct? What would I use to get 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 veggie pieces?

    • @TundraRestaurantSupplyBoulder
      @TundraRestaurantSupplyBoulder  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      To get the dice, you'll need to first slice the veggies then put them in the chopper. Otherwise you might look into getting a Robot Coupe R2N with a dice kit (sold separately) to get that dice you're looking for more quickly: bit.ly/2noLF0w

    how hard is it to press? We are only girls and I am afraid we will not be able to really put force on this.

    • @seikibrian8641
      @seikibrian8641 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Don't force it; let the weight of the pusher do some of the work. Lift it all the way to the top of the slide bars and then push it down quickly. Sometimes the first pass will just break the surface and a second pass is needed to finish the job.
