  • Beverage refrigerators are compact, stylish, and allow you to have chilled beverages on hand away from the kitchen. These types of chillers put beverages on display through the front window adding style and function at the same time.

Recently, we were considering adding another refrigerator to our home - or possibly the DirtFarmerJay.com shop!
Our residence is comprised of three levels, with an apartment of sorts in the basement, the ground floor comprised of kitchen, dining, and entertainment areas, and the top floor with bedrooms and laundry room. There are a surprising amount of times that we’ve been upstairs and found that we didn’t have a beverage handy and had to make a run up and down the stairs. While that’s good for heart and joint health, it’s also inconvenient just when you’ve sat down to relax or are setting up in bed to read a good book!
Just about that time, we were contacted by Newair, who was just bringing to market their 100-Can Anniversary Series Beverage Fridge. They asked if we would accept one of these fridges for review.
We had a forthright conversation with them about the terms we require for reviews. While they were providing the unit at no charge to us, we would only agree to review the product if we were granted full permission to state our full opinion - what we call “the good, the bad, and the ugly”, a phrase borrowed from an old Clint Eastwood movie! Newair agreed to this stipulation with no hesitation. So, in this review, you’ll see what we like, as well as what we feel could be enhanced. In addition, since what is shown is our initial impressions of packaging, quality, features, and so forth, we have scheduled a one-year later follow-up episode to see how well the Anniversary Beverage Fridge has faired.
Here are key pieces of information about Newair’s Beverage Fridge.
Newair’s model and description for the unit are NBCA20BK00, 100-Can Beverage Cooler. As is typical for this type of product sold in the USA, it runs on 110-120 volt outlets and draws about 95 watts/1.3 amps.
The size is about 18” deep, 17” wide, and just over 29” tall, and weighs about 47 lbs (Depth: 45 cm, Width: 43 cm, Height: 73 cm, Weight: 21 kg). It is black in color, has a glass front door, stainless steel finish and door, 3 beverage racks, and LED interior lighting.
Our initial impressions are positive overall. The product appears to be of good quality, with substantial racks, a low operating sound level, nice lighting, and a compact footprint. The removable racks allow you to configure the refrigerator for other purposes as well - such as creamer or milk for coffee.
It arrived well packaged, with very minor damage to the exterior packaging, but none to the unit inside. The packaging was adequate for the job, and not excessive for this type, size, and weight of product.
You can check out all of the specifications, view a robust photo gallery, see reviews and place an order (at the time of the filming of this episode, the product was being offered at $299) at glnk.io/y439/dirtfarmerjay.
Enter the following discount code and receive 10% off your order FRIEND-TZN39M3.
You can also visit their website directly at www.newair.com to see this and their entire product line. If you do decide to purchase one of these units and you utilize the “dirtfarmerjay” link, we do receive a rebate that we reinvest into video production and shop equipment for further. As always, that’s up to you.
Thanks for watching and stay tuned for new episodes on the shop, home, garage, garden, kitchen, and related product reviews!

Thank you for the review. We have a similar Danby DBC120BLS 120 can beverage refrigerator we have had since September 2014. Other than the side getting pretty warm when running, our main complaint with it is that the shelf wires are too far apart which makes it difficult to get cans to stand up straight when the refrigerator is not full (wires are about 1-1/16" apart). Cans and especially bottles tend to tip over if it isn't packed full. As a quick fix, I added some plastic mesh shelf liner and zip-tied it to the shelves to hold it in place. I went with mesh because I did not want to impede the airflow in the unit with a solid refrigerator shelf liner. For what we paid for it and how long that it has lasted, we're happy with it. When it does quit, we will consider the Newair and look forward to your follow-up. 👍

Thanks for writing. Great insights. You'd be pleased to know that Newair has addressed your concern on the racks. We just measured ours and the wire are just slightly over 7/8 of an inch, center to center. Standard beverage cans are very stable when placed on the racks. Thanks for being part of our viewer family!! Best, DFJ

I don't have a mini-fridge... but we have a Sanyo kegerator that has had a real workout for over 20 years and worked perfectly. No cans or bottles to dispose... doing my part in saving the earth by chugging draft beer!

Curious if this has an adjustment for temperature control and could you use it to store wine? We don't drink much soda or bottled water. Also, as an FYI, the link to the DFJ shop has a typo so not able to click and check out the merch!

Hi Fran. Yes you can adjust the temperature from 37 to 64 °F. Just curious, what temp is the best for wine?

Also, Jay just tried the Merch link and it worked....not sure what's going on there.

@@DirtFarmerJay 55 to 59°F. They suggest 55 to 75% humidity too, but considering they just sit out on my wine rack right now I think the fridge would be a better option!

@@DirtFarmerJay I’ve been online researching for a little fridge to hold small cans of soda, I appreciate you sharing this one.
