LOL! It's funny that people act like feathering hair is a strange, new concept. I went to the hair dresser a few years ago and wanted my hair layered and feathered, she had no idea what I was talking about. I came out of there with hair in front of my face instead of feathered back.

The area where she was curling had to be cut shorter to achieve that true Farrah feathered look. This woman's hair was too long to curl properly, if you noticed, it dropped down and was like a loose pipe curl. But it was fun to watch anyway. :)

hm. Having bangs helps. But I wouldn't use that large of a barrel, either. You should part your hair down the center, curl your hair in sections so that they're tight. And make sure you curl the tails, too- perfect curls were what my mom and her sister slaved over back in the early 80's. after that, you spray some hair spray and let it set a few min and do your make up. Then you brush your hair back, and lift up your hair while spraying hair spray for more volume. there you go- feathered hair

if you trying to get the look of the day gone by we didn't have those big curling iron or couldn't afford it I used a brush and hair dryer and brushed my hair back while blowing it. Never was good at using the tools but once you have slept in the big curlers you could almost have any style. That video wasn't very good. My hairdresser did mine but I have layers and she used a flat iron. I must say I was so impressed it looked just what I was looking for and it was up to date. Was gone the next morning ;0(
