      I appreciate that a lot, thank you - my goal was to make something that many people could enjoy instead of a dry and overly technical video. My focus is on the concepts and the overall process, not on the specific buttons I press inside an application.

      @@konotori_vfx Well besides the point that I think he is just saying he likes that he is here on youtube teaching and when something like this is a fulltime job it takes a lot out of you; I work for an advertising agency as a lead product animator and can honestly say the amount of red tape we have just for commercials, which is not at the level of red tape of feature films, it can be very difficult to show behind the scenes or do educational videos. I was never barred from teaching but I cannot cover techniques unique to the application of anything done in any of our projects without both our agencies and the clients written and signed permission for each case. That means there are a lot of things offlimits simply by association

    • @daycred
      @daycred 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      @@konotori_vfx its just pretty obvious that VFX companies are even better at sucking out every drop of passion someone has for VFX than banks are at sucking out all you have for programming. I can not imagine working on one mini shot for 3 months straight with barely any pay or credit in return is gratifying.

  • @noaburr

    Love that you continue to compare with "rookie" version throughout the video, and without intentionally making the rookie version bad. A lot of content creators would have made the rookie version intentionally bad to make the final result look better, but instead you made the rookie version simple and straightforward, how a beginner would actually create the effect.
    It's a small detail but it made the video feel much more honest about how effective the "magic 3" rule is.

      If works for every type of art too! It's just a great rule. I see it most in comedy. Or even plot. Telling the joke 3 times with 3 as the maximum before it gets old. It is the same with film. You can have 3 "references" to an event in a plot before it gets old. 3 surprises. 3 is always the best

    To be fair, your first iteration of the portal is not bad. Even though it is not photorealistic, it captures the essence of what the portal is, just lacking the chaos. It could fit into a cartoonish art style quite well.
