@@TheHonestPeanut Well, I may not have specified but I was talking musically in this case, and the garbage that covers 99% of the mainstream is an affront to creativity and music in general. BUT, if you dig deep enough you will find the best music that has ever existed, which SHOULD be more mainstream but is not. If you want to speak more generally about the state of humanity, we are such a huge waste of potential we are literally risking our return to the stone age daily just so a few people out of 7 billion can have another yacht or whatever, and I think that's pretty bad too. The health industry is about keeping people sick (but not too sick to work!) to maximize profits, many jobs which would have provided for you to buy a house and raise a family are now minimum wage dead end jobs, even though they are just as vital as they ever were. Elections are just a mockery where we pick the best liar to betray us, over and over. And to top it all off, any time in the past if it sucked this bad, you could simply leave and start on your own somewhere... now there is nowhere to go, so we are slaves in all but name. Plus there's still literal slavery going on, child and regular, to keep the illusion that our society works great as long as you don't look too close at the reality of it. Lame enough for ya?
@@AngryLotus I completely agree with you about contemporary music and I'd extend that to all the arts. As for socially, I'd have to say although there are a lot of things humanity is still struggling to overcome (slavery/human trafficking, genocide, powerful groups pushing to return to the dark ages, equal rights) nearly everywhere in the world is demonstrably, objectively better across the board than any time in history. This is no time to sit on our laurels! More than ever we need to focus on unity and pushing ahead :)

In the medieval days it was bad, but there wasn't really much to aspire to anyway. Now... well if 7 billion anything works together it can accomplish a lot, and we are top of the heap as we know it, and are not taking advantage of 7 billion minds working on a project together. I feel like we're born in the middle of a transition from shitty to epic, and powerful people want it to stay shitty for as long as possible to min/max profits. :O

Orchestral Metal has been rejected by many metal fans. I've always found it to be as Great as the classics!! Imagine what the classical artist of old would think if they heard This and Metallica's!! I know some were deaf and never heard a note of what they had written...but if they were around today or in the 70s80s...they could feel what they had written...like TSO and Gary Hoey. Cheers!!!
