One genius marketing plan I saw today was a coloring book brand had a free digital coloring page every month if you sign up to their email. This makes people stay with your email marketing and tell their friends to sign up too as they know they'll get free stuff forever. You can just use a page of your new book each month and if they like it they can buy the real book
So far, YOU are my fav KDP Educator. I like your advice to go in the direction of higher quality content always. PEACE. Working now on my first cover. WILL publish THIS WEEK!
Sean, your deep dive into 'Coloring Book Cafe' was both thorough and enlightening. It's impressive to see how they've integrated different strategies to stand out on Amazon. The way they blend quality designs, smart pricing, and digital offerings is genuinely inspiring. Thanks for shedding light on these tactics and providing invaluable insights. I've taken away so much from this video for my own projects. Keep up the fantastic work! 👏🎨📚
If you do 6x9, adding a larger hardcover book with less pages (if it's text based) can help as well. And larger size paperback can drive down print cost and offer 6x9 as compact version. Both paperback can be sold at same price but a 8x1p or 8.5x11 paperback with less pages can print lower. You can price it a little.lower but you don't have to. With color books, you can offer a pocket size as well.
Thanks for the info, Sean. We are just getting started and this gives us so many ideas. We are about to submit our first coloring storybook to KDP so keep your fingers crossed. Have a fun day.
Thanks so much for the information! I am a writer, and have my own fiction series which I want to finish and sell on the platforms you have shared. I have also done editing for a publishing company and ghost-writing where I have had very good reviews from customers. So, this video has inspired me to write my own books instead of writing them for others. Unfortunately, I live in South Africa, so buying into the community is not possible when it costs almost a whole month's salary with the exchange rate. But this video has given me a lot to work towards.
I've used Corel draw 2018 pro. It has a symmetry tool to draw one wedge and it repeats around the entire thing. Takes a few mintues for things like that. Mandela's. Snowflakes etc.

My 8-9 books have been in KDP review since July 27. They’ll review one or two with editing requests, either in the title or description box, but they all look really good. Worked very hard on these, creating high quality covers and contents. Is this normal for low content books? I’ll never quit, but it is frustrating! Thanks for your videos by the way, I’ve learned much from you!
Hey Sean, I discovered your channel by accident but I'm glad I did. I've got a quick question about running ads on Amazon. Do you have a separate course on that? I think a lot of people know how to generate books for free but they are afraid of running ads, because it costs money and therefore they want more guidance. So let me know if you want to sell a course just focus on how to run ads to promote book products. Thanks.
I have about 8 low content books still in review with KDP since July 27! They’ll review at one or two books at a time, with a requested edit in the title or description box, which I do immediately and it goes back into review. These books, although low content look really good. Is this normal? I am getting frustrated with how slow their process has been!
im about to sell my first colouring in book... Do you think its worth changing the author name to a brand name such as "coloring cafe" rather than my name john cooper?
Hello Sean! I follow your channel and I really like your content. Following your lead, I created my own store on Amazon KDP and try to run it carefully. However, when I run an ad, it doesn’t work for me and doesn’t charge me any money. In addition to this, there are still many problems, for example, I cannot create an electronic book format. Sales 0. I have a proposal for you, maybe you can start sorting out the problems of small stores like mine?
QUESTION: To understand the value of investing in the coloring book business, could you explain what is the value of an adult coloring book? I don't quite understand why an adult spends money buying those kinds of books. Thanks in advance for any answer.
Many different ones, Mandala books were originally marketed for relaxation, etc. Then, there are some for people who like to engage in arts and crafts, such as painting, etc. and some buyers are really advanced in either coloring pencils or other mediums (some can be used with watercolors) so it's basically painting pictures they like or develop their craft. There are different markets, cute coloring books with puppies and cats, fantastic creatures, flowers and landscapes, even pinup books with sexy artwork, etc.
Besides being fun to do and a creative outlet for people who maybe can't draw anything, they cost very little to buy, I've been buying and sending them to my aunt in a memory care facility. She has what Bruce Willis has, a hard time with words, aphasia. Finding words is hard, imagine trying to watch a TV show or movie when your communication ability just gets worse and worse, it must be very boring to not be able to talk with people or understand what's being said on TV. These coloring books don't require words. I also sent her colored pencils, a cool pencil sharpener, and markers, also all from Amazon. Every couple of months I send her a couple more coloring books, at least she doesn't have to just sit staring at the walls. That's just one market for them.
My activity book for adults is launching in a few days. I want to get reviews. I’ve looked at services but thinking of posting on my neighborhood FB forum offering a free book on which they can provide an Amazon review if they wish to do so. Is this against Amazon’s rules? Since it’s an activity book, I think it needs to be to provide the actual printed book vs a PDF. Thoughts?
How are coloring book authors getting so many images on their pages? Mine is still in draft mode but i want to upload more photos. Can i add some in the "details" part by pasting some images with the description?
▼Hi there @GinasOnlineFinds - I'm trying to work out what you mean, to see if I can help. Are you asking about the additional images on each book's Amazon page when you scroll down? If so, that's a free marketing module called "A+" for Authors. When uploading (or after uploading), an Author can access the A+ Modules and upload extra images to match the pre-set Modules. It's a fantastic way to show what's inside any book. Hope this makes sense :-)
Hi Sean! I did watch your training video, great stuff! A lot of people on message boards and FB groups, things like that are such downers who say this is impossible for the average person. I have been learning and building for three months and am excited about it! I'm in it for the long haul. I have to wonder if people who say it's impossible because millions of people are uploading books if they are just doing it for a few months then giving up. Anyway, thank you again! Cheers from Nova Scotia!
I have set the price of my product to 7.99 but amazon changed it to 8.82. As I understand iI will keep getting my royalty from the price I have innitialy set, right? Should I just change the price of my product to what Amazon have set and therefore get bigger royalty?
▼ Hi there @TheDManiak - Amazon will keep changing prices depending on what their goals are. ▼ I'd leave the price for the moment, and see how it goes for a month or so :-)
Then you don’t understand, that besides some people just want to inspire and help others, it’s also another monitizing strategy 😉 besides you make people enthousiast for his courses etc, he also earns money with these vids through TH-cam.

No prob. I think the biggest reason why people stay poor is because they think they need to spend more as they make more. I constantly travel around and stay in 1 bedroom airbnbs cause thats all the space i need. And no you dont have to start by spending a lot

Examples of books not suited to the Kindle format include the following:
• Puzzle books
• Blank Journals
• Pattern books
• Coloring books
Kindle means ebooks. This video is about paperback books on KDP.

I've actually got that 125 Mandala colouring book. It's nice, but for some of the designs you need a magnifying glass.

I have a doubt. Can a Amazon employee do kdp business side by side ???
I’m not 100% sure. But I don’t think a few of them doing kdp will affect us in any way
