Thank you for this video. I secured a job in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and I have to pay for Iqama. I have arranged a meeting online to dispute that. Any advice of what I should say will be appreciated. The Iqama cost was not mentioned to me before and it is putting me off going.

    • @reshapingyourdestiny

Normally the employer pays for the Iqama, that is what I know. Yes, go ahead and do this online meeting and find out what is happening. Then decide.

As a Saudi I'm totally shocked by the amount of wrong informations you have mentioned, even though you have been to Saudi.
I think the root of this problem is coming from the fact that you haven't integrated in the Saudi society, that's why you claim stuff that are not real.
    1. Women in Saudi can go without a male permission, this has never been a case. How on earth you haven't seen a solo women on streets? Did you even go out?
I think the case with this maid who you were talking about is about her boss, she works as a maid, so it's obvious everywhere around the world that she will need to take permission.
    2. Are you even kidding when you said no parks in Saudi? You didn't seem to.. of course it's not green in parks like Germany but YES, there are parks.
    3. you said not many foreigners want to work in Saudi? Are you even kidding with me? So the 12 million immigrants who live in Saudi do what? Immigrants form 40% of the Saudi demography, meaning according to stats. Saudi arabia is the 5th most loaded country with immigrants around the world. Not seeing a lot of white people not because they aren't any? No, there's around 200.000 westerns, but they are not comparable with the amount of indians and syrians.
    4. the time you came was the Hajj period, where 2 millions people around the world visit Mekkah, that's why it was crowded. It's was a special occasion.
    5. In Germany it happens every now and then some stuff against syrians and Arabs, does that represent the German mentality? Ich bin sicher NEIN. That's why some bad stuff happen to some people from India or philippine, because they form the highest amount of immigrants in Saudi.
    6. There's a train system between most cities in Saudi, in Riyadh the metro system is gonna be open in June 2021.
    6. Life in Saudi has dramatically changed the last few years.
Please educate yourself before judging other people and disturbing wrong facts.

First of, glad we had u in Saudi. Let me explain that treating different nationalities "kinda" differently is really not intentional, but it may be real. But why & how? Well, we consider Arabs (Egyptians, Yemenis, .. ) and Indians as our brothers; so we feel that we don't need to treat them extremely nicely. There r millions of them here, we're very used to each other. It's like when you shout at your sibling, but at the end of the day, both you & him relize that u r brothers; one family.
Now, when it comes to nationalities that rarely work abroad especially in Saudi, we consider them as guests; and we understand that they need special treatment because of the huge difference in culture. So we try to make life easier for them here. But I guess all this happens naturally (without intensions).
For Germans, maybe because of WW2, or because Einestein and Blank were German, or because many German r crazily smart; maybe that is one reason we respect u a bit more.
Anyways, you are very very much welcome to Saudi anytime u wish to come. 💚💚💚👏🇸🇦

Let me know if you need more information. Danke 👍

It depends on your position and nationality. A normal cook from South Asia will get around $US 400 net per month.

“ Riyadh is very hot country” Riyadh is not a country my friend. For your info, Saudi Arabia is more than 6 times bigger than Germany. Not being disrespectful but lots of misinformation and disinformation of FACTS not OPINION.

It’s very simple rule , Be respectful to us, we will respect you, some nationalities names connected and still connecting with many crimes and illegal things here, I’m a simple citizen who likes his country I can’t help to not respect them because they don’t respect themselves first, being unwelcome in many many countries means the problem in your community not in the country, more than that..you can’t hear the story from one side!! We all meet these ppl who act like victims but they are guilty as hell ! You have problems and you think you were wronged !! Do as what we Saudi do .. go to your country's embassy, or to the Ministry of Labor, the Police, or the Judiciary.......if you can’t deal with it anymore - praise be to God - the exit door expands even for the camels. God’s land is vast.
