I had this problem with all 3 of the Schecter Banshee GTs I got last year! On those, the contacts are only accessible by disassembling the switch. There is a little slot on each side of the housing, into which you can insert a flathead screwdriver and pop the circuit board off. Then I bent the contacts up for a better connection with the board, squeezed it all back together, and it works! I'm not sure how well the switch will stay together after having been pulled apart like that, but so far so good.
Hey man do you think you could elaborate more on how exactly you fixed it? I have a Schecter as well with Seymour Duncan pick ups and I’m having the same issue with my selector switch where the lead position (down position) doesn’t work at all but the other two are fine
@@EJ.VQ37 It doesn't sound like exactly the same problem I had, but I'll tell you what I did. If you remove the pickup selector (assuming it's the same kind) you'll see that one side of it is a circuit board, and the other is the switch assembly. There are tiny little claws which hold the circuit board to the switch assembly, so I bent them (CAREFULLY) with a pair of pliers, and pried off the circuit board by sticking a small flathead screwdriver into the slots in the housing (which I mentioned in my previous comment.) I saw that the wiper/contact is a flap of metal which reaches from the switch assembly to the circuit board, and I figured it wasn't making good contact. So I simply bent it further in the direction of the circuit board so it would make contact more solidly when reassembled. Then I reassembled it and it worked. Very high probability that you will crack that circuit board, so I don't necessarily recommend this procedure. It did work once, but I also cracked another one. Probably best just to replace it with a better one. I don't know what Schecter are thinking, using those cheap blade switches, I sold those guitars and went back to my trusty Ibanez stuff. Good luck to you!
@@santinhowwthanks for your reply, I just take a look to the switch inside too and seems more complicated than what shown in the video. Would try with some contact cleaner first maybe!
This video came in the right time for me! I have the same HB model and same problem, but also with the neck pickup. Will try to fix it this way. Thanks!
@@MaxSoloMusic Yep! But the selector is still a bit noisy. I'm considering replacing it with something new. Anyway, after 1 year and a half with this guitar, I'm surprised with the fact that the electric part is still pretty good and will require a maintenance just now. Thanks!
@@MaxSoloMusichappening to mine now. I don't know if you remember I was the one asking about the HB fusion t Hh FNT update while you and many other reviews to cover. Haha mine has been amazing still But, When I now go into bridge it seems to split or lose power and wiggle doesn't fix requires a lot of messing with which means bad contact somewhere. I have only 3 way as you know. It still works but looses power. Now my bridge even when it does engage is still not as high output as it was. So I'm thinking I need to rewire it or maybe open and try what you did. Might go ahead and get a better switch for future. Haha thanks man!!
Last month a guy came to my house with a noisy volume pot on a strat. (He brought a new pot). Anyways he asked if I could swap them out and I said sure. Did it and as he was leaving he tried to hand me $100 and wouldn't accept that I wouldn't take it . He left it on my porch.😁
Hi Jagdish. Both guitars are pretty good and can do a variety of styles. They do have different neck profiles and don't feel the same. So, the best option would be to try both before making that choice. Ibanez will probably be a bit more versatile
Have you try this method? Any updates on the guitar? My Jackson guitar just got the same problem today and im searching in youtube how to help me solve the problem.
@@MaxSoloMusic thank you so much max , i was worried iam using cort m600 and i tried to clean the switcher many times and still hearing little bit of clicky scratchy sound while switching

I put contact cleaner on mine, seems to do the trick
I have a fender squier affinity and i have the same issue recently, i will try this solution today and see how it goes. Thanks 🙏
Did it work? I hope it did :)
I have the same guitar in HSH config, this video worked ! was scary bending the pins though.
Glad it helped!
Excellent, right to the point. Thanks for "faint" background music.
Thanks man, exactly what I needed!
Omg thank you so much! Worked on my Schecter!
Bought it brand new with the issue and this worked right after 1st attempt!
I have a Cort G300 with that problem in the bridge position too. It has those "fender styled" super switch. I'll give it a try
Hi, I got same case with you with the G300, wonder if this method works for you? Thanks !

I'm wondering if you tried to fix it and whether it worked

Man, you are a genius!
Have the same issue on HB JA Baritone - sometimes bridge pickup doesn't switches, and requires extra touch. So it's not only the case with HB Fusions
Also a common problem in PRS too
nice ! ...this problem tend to happen a lot in the Harley Benton's switches ( ...or at least in mines )

Wish Fender Strats came with a backplate for the switches.
Thank you!
I replaced my selector with a higher quality switch in place of the pc board style that is so common. Simple.😊
Hi max can you tell me i should buy a cort kx300 or an ibanez rg421mol.
I like to play everything from jazz , funk to hard rock but not metal.
