- The new big rock v3 looks stable being wider but I saw a few thing I questioned but with that said see the difference I see just looking at the two rc side by side also let me know if you want to see the V2 and v3 run against the traxxas hoss and how these compares to arrma 3s line ? Definite buyer's remorse for you for this one. I also have the old 3S lineup except for the Big Rock. Considered the new ones but, they've gotta be more than a pretty body or I'll wait for the next round. Good review always informative. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

They have the same chassic right? becuase im buying a Skid plate for the big rock v3 and in the picture they used a v2. should i be worried about it or no? do they have the same chassic?

Good video I have the V3 Bigrock & the newest Granite so the wife & I can bash together, I 3d printed inner body supports and roof sliders I've had 0 issues with either truck and I do before and after routine maintenance to keep my rc's tip top have fun with the V3 😎👍

I just bought the Big Rock V3, with in the first 10 minutes of its first battery pack I did a very very very soft cartwheel with it and it completely snapped the rear shock. I was like wtf

The new big rock has the diffs from the kraton 4s now though so that's a big upgrade. I have a outcast 4s is the smallest truck i have but everytime i drive it snaps drive shafts. Maybe it's a good thing this big rock being on 3s not break so many drive shafts.

Nice comparison. Matte black does look good, but I think I prefer the blue body and chrome wheels myself. You can easily buy the typhon 3s a arms and turn buckles to make a v1 or v2 big rock wider. The new big rock is essentially the same stance as a typhon 3s, but with a truck body and wheels. But stronger chassis, better orings in the shocks, better controller, motor fan etc makes the new version a good buy for someone new to this platform. But not worth buying if you have already have a previous version.

I completely disagree mate. I hate the chrome and blue one, looks like a kids toy compared to the all black. Still a great rig nonetheless.

I didn’t get the v3::::it’s basically the same truck,,,,,on my original big rock I added hot racing hex extenders and a set of proline adjustable hub ....17mm tires and rims. It’s a lot wider than the new v3,,,,added a fan,,,,very stable....love the the set up...It’s a lot cheaper than buying a whole new identical unit,,,,imho... came with the tactic system,,,very good.also. 🇺🇸👈
Does the new one have a different motor mount for more pinion gear options?

@@rcjoe406 The spur got eaten up on you? That's odd. I've never had a issue with my 3s blx ones. You're not landing jumps on throttle are you? I've never shreaded a gear in my granite or typhon. That's Weird. See if the part numbers match up on mega and blx models

Hi I have bigrock but a man on you tube told to hold down esc now slow forward and 50 backwards I do.t what I was going swap for hoss something like that so if could talk any one that could help I be grateful I swap for good 6or7 mouths

I think that .5” of width will make a difference in the tip over threshold? So an experienced operator who figures out where that threshold is, Will benefit a little? For a new person in the hobby, that is just full blast even wile steering? Don’t think it’s much of a difference honestly?

Better internals (4S capable), sealed bearings, wider arms (more stable in turns), motor fans (motor cool as a cucumber after a full pack) & better transmitter?... definitely worth the extra $10-15 bucks whenever you add it all up! 👍🏾

The biggest differences will be in the Arma Granite 4x4 MEGA! As far as value, compared to getting the older version that is. It now has the 3s diffs and the slipper clutch has been upgraded. At least, I have read the slipper clutch has been upgraded. I'm so deep into my older Granite now, I could have bought a 3s Granite and a Big Rock! That said, I do love it. If it wasn't like that, I wouldn't have had to mess with it and would never actually learned anything. Great comparison, great video. Fingers-crossed, my shocks on my MEGA haven't leaked, yet. :) I hope you do something cool with it. Definitely needs the roof sliders! (-) Those bodies on ARMA trucks are thin as paper, paper is harder to tear..lol
You sure about that ? Ik with mega typhon its not , I woukdve bought just for parts , bc slipoer clutch assembly 50 60 bucks alone , tires ect so it would've been a homerun for me , also they're saying 4s diffs in these which are exactly the same as 3s diffs
@@paulclancy2404 NO!! not SURE!And yes,that's why I said 3s diffs. the slipper is "SUPPOSED" to be different. That's why I was trying to choose my words carefully. I have spent a fortune on my older model Granite converting it. The 3s slipper clutch is what I had to get and put in mine. Again, I'm not sure. I just watched an interview where Jason said this time it was made to be converted to brushless without being such a pain and drain on wallet. I'm paraphrasing that but it is essentially what he said. Thanks Paul, now I'm questioning every word I text...lol

No no no I did the 6s from a 4s outcast and it was sooo much money and the center drive shaft is so weak and no support on a better one so intill there is no upgrades 😂😂😂😂

I'm debating adding the Big Rock or the new Kraton 4S...Already own a 4S Typhon and 3S Vortek...only want 1 more RC. All my wallet can afford and do upgraded 1 by 1.
4s line is a big step up compared to the big rock
@@earlmoorhead5555 yeah if you spend anything upgrading a 3S, you done spent more than the new 4S line cost RTR. I feel this new 4S line is gonna put a nail in the coffin for some aging 3S line RCs in the market. Think Arrma is gonna move the needle over next several months.
Chassi is differant steering rack is differant, adjustable motor mount and rubber sealed bearings
Didn’t see any chassis difference steering they said the servo saver is better but I won’t know till I run it and the links are all the way out now but will see how it holds up 👍👍🔥🔥💯💯💯
@@earlmoorhead5555 the steering rack has been modified to not get stuck by rocks and the chassi has little more plastic here and there and the arm pin retainers are now threaded on the chassi itself

I don't get why you would buy an rc and just let it sit. I wish I had that kind of money. The new big rock is a good truck. Mine is actually hard to roll over in turns. I don't like the fact the the old axles was used instead of longer ones, but I guess when they break i'll just upgrade them. One other thing about the new big rock is check the axles screws. Mine was loose and resulting in a wheel coming. Just lock tight them beforehand for good measure.

@@chrisdale2625 in that situation, I would probably look at buying one internationally on ebay and dealing with the higher shipping costs. I've never been in your situation so I don't know though, maybe there's huge taxes for imports or something. If parts are super hard to get, you might want to think twice. Its essential to be able to buy replacement parts for basher rc cars.
