Hey guys! Retro again. It's another remix from Pokémon X/Y, all done by ear. This time it's Champion Diantha; the person you only see a couple times in the game before you fight her and doesn't really serve a huge significance to the story at all!!! I started this remix at about 8 PM and it's now 5 AM! Oh well, it was worth it. I'ma go to bed now, goodnight. :3

They need to make a hard/normal/easy mode for the next pokemon game
***** Uh no. That's a challenge and fan made. They need to make it so you can fully enjoy the game, but with smarter AI and harder leveling. AND FIX THE EXP SHARE BACK!!!
***** When a trainer uses quick attack on my Banette 300+ times, I know the AI is fucked.
Also give the trainer's higher level pokemon with better EV and natures!!

Plague Seeker Well, you do seem to be missing a key element: Pokémon has an audience of children as well, it's not just teens and adults. I mean, there are only so many things you can do to keep it possible. Ever done Lunatic mode on Fire Emblem? Yeah, that's incredibly difficult in the beginning, but if you grind for levels, then you can sort of breeze through. The AI could definitely be improved, however in XY, there have been some pretty smart, albeit very crappy for me, strategies the computer used and beat me. (Like using trick-or-treat and then using a stab, now super-effective, shadow ball, like wtf)
The lower levels and exp share makes the game shorter, not harder but the ai does need a buff.
Seriously though, I love X and Y's soundtrack. The characters are great too, but like everyone says....its a tad bit on the easy side.
TEH NEXUS YO! After doing this myself I've grown to like Diantha, I just wish she was a big stronger the second time around you battle. And I love that Hoenn unf ;o;

@@appleslice4412 not really weak, I think Pokémon x and y just had a really bad time balancing levels. Hell, I had a little bit of a tough time with her because I didn’t use any healing items in the elite four tbh. If you weren’t absolutely overleveled she 100% would have been a true challenge and road block.
Still one of my favorite Pokémon remixes of all Time. Takes everything I love about the original and amplifies it tenfold. The intro, build-up and climax are fantastic and give me goosebumps everytime

They should either make her more powerful or just change Champion in the next Kalos game. (she was sooo easy)

ScienceInfinity129 Yer, but my level 55 salamence took out two of her pokemon, and my level 61 Sylveon took out the other two. All the other pokemon I had were level 68/69 and I barely had to use them. I guess you could say Salamence and Sylveon are pretty OP in story mode, but still, a 16 level difference and a 5 level difference didn't make much difference since I mopped the floor with her.
I vote Youngster Joey be the champ. Or at least he gets to be your rival or a gym leader >:) He's just too awesome with that top percentage Ratata

Diantha deserves justice!! She had so much potential. She could had been as hard as Cynthia back in the day.
I like the spin you put on this theme. Seems kind of "darker," somehow, if that makes any sense. Probably just the amount of emphasis to the bass. Would you mind if I used it for a Smash Wii U Greninja montage? I'll give credit and link back to this video, of course.

You know what would make a champion battle truly intimidating... If at LEAST some of the champions pokemon had perfect IV's and was ev trained. Now that would be interesting.
Or at least if you lose it their Pokemon get higher leveled as if they trained whenever you lost so all the levels fighting the Elite Four doesn't really help you over and over again

Well, the game is targeting little kids, meaning they can't make it too hard for them, it would be pointless to make the last battle in story mode be competitive.

I'm gonna go on a limb here and say that Diantha looks hotter in this video than the game. No joke.
As bad as Diantha was in the game, she isn't my least favorite in game champion.
My rankings would be like this:
1.Cynthia. Difficult, great character design, awesome battle music and was not boring.
2. Blue. A decent challenge, a simple but well done design and that battle music was insane.
3. Wallace. Despite having a mono-type team, Wallace made me work for victory. Design is sorta over the top... Music was good.
4. Steven. Similar to Wallace, but a simple design and minus the Metagross an easy team to work againt.
5. Diantha. Elegant design, nice music, below average challenge. That broken exp share though...
6. Alder. Apart from design, Alder and Diantha are quite similar. His team is below average for a challenge, just use your head and you come out 6-0.
7. Lance. Mono-type... failure... A fast Ice beam throwing pokemon. Done. Or in gen 2. Rock Slide everything. winnn But the music was awesome.
8. Iris. An extremely annoying little girl... With an extremely redundant team. Countered easily and not much of a threat. The only thing she has for her is that battle music. It was nice.
I agree with you exept for the worst champion I think it's Lance because he has three same pokémon. It's not interesting for a final boss
There was Kingdra, who was even introduced in the same generation Lance became Champion. I always thought it odd Lance never used one.
Alder felt like he had a really interesting story of his own that was never told. It was kind of disappointing actually.
I wholeheartedly agree with this rating. People put Steven on a pedestal far too often and then shun Wallace for being monotype. It's too bad Wallace was the only champion that got a single type team right.
Gotta agree with this list, except I'd put Lance in third for my fave Pokemon theme of all time.
Iris can go to hell though. She is impossible to beat under-leveled if you don't grind an Ice Pokemon for 12 days on end. And since I lacked one, the only reason I pulled through was because my Lugia I got from my Black 2 copy (The day before I lost it!) Is a F*cking tank, for being my lowest level.
In love how you did the trumpets for the Hoenn part! That was just amazing and nostalgic at the same time.
She's my favorite champion, character-design wise and music. But I just wish they incorporated her more in to the story. I wish she played bigger role than just seeing her once or twice. She could've been the first lady of the Team Flare just to have our first villain boss champion. She could've had the obsession to beauty and perfection type of personality. Then have a shiny Mega Gardevoir with black coloring to make it appear it was raised by someone with malicious thoughts.

Great remix of a great and unappreciated Champion theme. If only the Champion herself were as exciting and involved as her music...

Diantha may be almost a minor character, but her theme is probably my favorite pokemon track ever, and you nailed it. Great work! I had a lot of fun listening to this.
Everytime I listen to this song, I just get transported back down memory lane... I absolutely LOVED X and Y, and I am insanely grateful for Retrospecter and his remixes.

The main two things Diantha had going for her was her stage and this theme. Her party would have been more intimidating if it took one super-strong Pokemon from each Generation and climaxed with her Gardevoir. But that's just me. Either way, much better than the disappointing match with Iris.

Yup, you can clearly hear a part that sounds just like that in Deoxys' theme.
Good remixes of Diantha's theme are pretty hard to find, but this one is very nice.

Heh, I defeated her with only a vaporeon.. I accidently went into the Pokemon League and realized all my pokemon were level 30 or something and my onyl high level pokemon was my vaporeon which was lvl 100.. So, I kinda had to beat the pokemon league with only Vaporeon..

I did not think this theme needed a remix as it was so applesauce, and I still think the original is the best it will ever be. BUT this comes so very very close to surpassing the original that this deserves a place in all x/y fans' music playlist. The only things holding this back for me is that this intro is a little too long, though it does drive up the anticipation, and the hoenn theme is layered on top instead of really integrated into the song. I liked the addition, but it tried to be louder than the song to be heard rather than complementing it. Don't ask me to make a better one, I can't, those are just my opinions, like I said, this comes so very close to beating the original.

I laughed a little bit at the anger at her Gardevoir. I guess no one got a Umbreon! I breezed through her battle, but it was still exhilarating and fun! Everything was quite easy, but it was so much FUN!Now I've pretty much done everything, even the Looker sidequests. I just need to complete my Pokedex.

Dat Nexus~ ♪ Silly how i"ve never heard your stuff before, sounds like Glitchy's stuff pretty much. As for transcribing this song I'd say you did an excellent job! I thought there really weren't many XY remixes out yet but I guess everyone is just now hopping on that boat. I'm slowly working on my own two remixes from the game... still not sure if I'll get to this song yet or not but happy to hear something of it never the less! Add some compression to those kicks and snares, keep it up!

I remember doing this battle twice. I one shotted her Mega Gardevoir with one Flare Blitz with Mega Charizard X. Never stood a chance against me to begin with.

Diantha was kinda, pathetic. especially for a Champion. didn't lose a single Pokemon to her. Now Cynthia or Blue on the other hand were definitely a challenge
Totally... But her Champion Room, outfit and mega Gardevoir were BEAUTIFUL. I loved the design throughout this game, so much detail!
+DatTop Engie Diantha was spoiled for me accidently by a remix but Diantha wasn't hyped up and from the top of my head only appeared once before her big debut. Plus our antagonist already surprised us with Mega evolution. Still I don't like 6th Gen in my opinion. It just had really forgettable characters, Pokémon and areas. I can only even remember one name from all the Gym leaders and Elite Four and that's Viola.... and that's only because I just watched a Wonderlocke of the battle. Still if there was a highlight then that would go to the optional post-game story.
Whenever I faced her Mega Gardevoir, I just send out my Mega Garchomp and OHKO Gardevoir.
