Definitely can relate to the record button mistake - filming a rugby game a few years back and after a pause in play I thought i'd pressed record again to resume filming but turned out I didn't! Thankfully I didn't miss much but easily done - mistakes are always a learning experience!

Yeah one of my biggest mistakes I’ve made when filming sports was forgetting the final step in syncing the wireless mic that was on the coach to the receiver on my camera before an opening high school football game. Luckily still got some good footage of the game and still got a kind of good audio from filming the coach’s halftime speech so the highlight still turned out alright.
Yeah there was also a time where I had issues with the white balance on my camera, was accidentally hit in the face with a water bottle and ran over by one of the football players during a play all during a game that was on Friday the 13th 😂

Gosh, your mistakes are not so serious. Did you do the #1 once more with the guy? In one of my first videos, when I started (4 months ago), I went to make an interview with the top Bulgarian judoka. Two times Olympian and a Top 15 guys in the world. And it was the first or second time when I used tripod. So when I fixed it, I overoiled one of the extension nuts. And the leg just broke out. So instead of 3-leg tripod, I've got a crippled two leg. So I ended up holding my small Lumix for 20 minutes, asking questions and trying not to move. Later I learned some technics from a video how to fix the camera with an elbows close to the body and three points of control. The funny stuff was that I tried to repair the tripod after the interview. Lost 20 minutes, before deciding to just get the parts and clear the field, as the coach was watching me, cos I was the last one in the dojo :) Thanks to another youtube video, I was able to repair it at home and I am still using it :) It will be great if you make a video regarding that topic. How you are capable to keep the camera not moving too much during filming.
I'm a journalist student not yet specialized in sport but I still made the audio mistake once . Also the light thing one of my bulb exploded because one guy fell on it, it fell on the beverage we were filming I can let you imagine the damage 🤡 LMFAO It's crazy to think that we can have the same problems even if we dont film the same kind of content. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
