It is pretty cool how they staged Welkers Big Bud sprayer, the New Bud, and Cole's Case all together with those giant new tires!!!

Good overview of the show. Heard you talking to Max Armstrong while he shined his Farmall tractor. I listened to Orion Samuleson and Max Armstrong on the WGN radio since the 1970's - outstanding announcers and educators about life as a farmer.

I'm a retired bank president from central Illinois and I used to go these shows all the time to get a better feel for what my farm customers were looking to possibly upgrade to. Just love your show and especially when you go to these shows. Brings back great memories.

the sheer scale of these machines is just insane
If it weren't for TH-cam, very few of us (east coast) would ever be exposed to the scale of not only the equipment but the size of these operations. "Big" farms around me are maybe a couple hundred acres.
With an insane price to match. They're really pushing well into the unaffordable for even the most profitable farms. No mention of maintenance and replacement part costs either, but you know not a single component on any of those is cheap.

I got two push lawnmowers. One is electric and the other has a broken drive train. No herbs. Only tomatoes, melons, pumpkins.
Laura, I'm from a multi generation farm family. My father left the farm for WW2 and never went back to farming. When I retired from NASA, I bought a 20 acre piece of beautiful land in Kentucky. Not much more that a hobby really. Big garden and some chickens, and room for my dogs to run and play.
I have a JD 5085E cab tractor with attachments and a loader. My friends, and a city boy neighbor think my tractor is a BEAST. Next to the heavy metal I seen locally and on your channel it is little more than a garden tractor. Actually a utility tractor, but for non farmers, it is a world of machines they don't see . Thanks for the great education and entertainment. Best wishes to you and Grant and family. FARMER feed the world!

I grew up on a small farm about 30 miles east of Decatur, IL in the heart of Amish country, Arthur, IL. If I still lived there I would love to have met you and Grant! Love your channel ❤
My maternal grandfather was an Ohio farmer. Cattle, pigs, feed corn & hay. Drove a John Deere. His jaw would drop if he saw this. Not a farmer but ❤ your show.

i am 50 years old and i knew about this tractor when i was about 6 or 7 years old. after all this time, still undefeated. still largest most powerful.

DECATUR ILLINOIS! Soybean capital of the World! (at least that is what they called it when I worked at the local tv station many years ago.(WAND TV). News Flash, soybean processing isn't the best smelling product in the world, but only if the wind was headed in your direction. I was told the aroma was the "smell of money". (didn't smell like money to me) But as the years past and I became accustomed to the "smell of money" I realized what an amazing crop it really was. It truly was the the product that made this small little town in America prosper. Enjoy.

It's a huge toy story of farmers!
One of my favorite things at the Indiana State Fair is the backside where the farm equipment is shown. John Deere did not have as many mid size mowers and tractors this year. Not sure why. Thanks for the video tour Laura & Grant!

I'm retired and moving to Illinois soon. My Grandfather taught me about farming when I was very young. Watching your videos not only impresses me on how together you and your husband are at working the farm but, brings back fond memories of yester year.
