An Unknown Mortal Orchestra "How to produce" would be cool

I’d love to see some content on using virtual instruments and midi vs using and editing/chopping audio. Or maybe there’s a technique to do both, bouncing and then editing a virtual instrument part into audio and then editing that? Thanks
Also, how to use space and silence to create music. I forget who said it but some great musical legend said that music is the space between the notes. How do we cut back on complexity and clutter to let the music breathe?
Wanna see peaches song from justin bieber sir, Please
After a heart attack and in recovery, at 60 years old I just got my little Studio together, restarted my guitar practice. I just got Ableton and been looking at tutorials when I found you.
What a wonderful fucking time I'm having watching you. It's fabulous work brother and so mesmerising. Hats off to you.
Thankyou for your time and energy.
PeacNLove mate.
You're never too old,,,😊😊😁
I am so grateful to hear this! excited for you
This is by far one your best remakes. The details!😍
Thanks had a blast doing this one
This is perfect! I’ve been looking everywhere for someone who broke down what goes into producing a more authentic instrumental piece. You should definitely do more of these, we need more of this and less 808’s haha In all seriousness, great explanation!
Glad you enjoyed it.
808s are great what you talking about hahah... but yeah i get what you are talking about... i agree... What can you do kanye made moderen pop music hahah and that is all 808s now
Way less 808s
@@7lgk827 Lmao, 808s are shit. And they are being pushed out of the mainstream really fast.
@@lavat9958 if u dont like them... u dont like them... i realy dont care like in some songs you hear only bass and u dont know if it is an 808...
This kind of production is what I’m really into as I come from more of a traditional musician background and I use a lot of virtual instruments including everything you used in this video. It is truly hard to get virtual instruments to sound natural and authentic but it can be done. I’d love to see more on getting horn parts done with virtual instruments vs audio editing. Well done!
Sure I’ll do one the horns
@@BeatAcademy How powerconsuming was this project in terms of CPU and RAM usage? I'm considering buying the new Macbook Pro with m1 pro chip, but im not sure if should get the 16 or 32 gigs. I know i'd like to make stuff like this and do hip hop sampling
Agree, except drums, I play everything ‘live’ but it’s difficult for me get realism from the orchestral instruments
@@BeatAcademy Please do!! Thank you so much
@@nicovo9237 I produce tracks similar to this in terms of CPU usage with the M1 Pro 16gb Macbook, it's more than enough power to handle big sessions. I did a lot of research and the difference between 16 and 32gb is hardly anything, so I'd go with the cheaper one and maybe upgrade the CPU if you've got the spare cash!
Can you do more of Bruno Mars i really like this... Thank you
ill keep it mind
💯
Brilliant, Ivan! The amount of production details and sound design in a track like this are insane!
suuuuuuper helpful
Glad it helped!
WOW. 😲 I've been following you for a while and for me, this has been your most impressive tutorial to date. You really nailed the texture and feel for this song. My producing has improved so much from your work, so thank you!!
Thanks so much ! Truly do appreciate it.
Woww, hats off to you brotha. I've learned alot especially the pitch bends, multiple sends and sampling technique on arcade. Definitely expanded my horizons. This is one of your best tutorials hands down. Thank you ill Factor.
Amazing! You nailed it man! We definitely need more of these authentic 70s and 80s tutorials!
this is one of the best remakes for a song i’ve EVER seen on youtube, thank you so much!!!
Great video. Obviously every instrument was played live in the actual song, but its cool how you show how to program those sounds
Thanks yea the live players make a big difference
I love these kind of production videos, not a lot of videos out there that tackle replicating live instruments, thanks!
One of the best tutorials I’ve seen in a minute, just gained a loyal subscriber cheers
Dude!!!! This is amazing. You've opened my eyes to a lot of great techniques. A+ tutorial.
Glad to hear it!
that was one of the best breakdown/tutorial i've seen ! I wish i could have seen it when i first started producing, that would have helped a lot.
So much good stuff on this one! You’re such a great teacher! 🔥🙌🏼
This is 🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for the best insights, much appreciated 🙏
Thank you so much Ill Factor. I started producing this year, I chanced upon your channel while I was looking for a video on “how to use Ableton”; i subscribed after 10 minutes of watching. I have wondered away from your channel so many times in my quest for more knowledge about music production and mixing. However, whenever your videos pop up on my screen and I do myself the favour of watching them I realise how valuable, clear and detailed your method of teaching is. You are different from the rest. God bless you.
Truly my pleasure...now don't wonder too far ;)
@@BeatAcademy i won't. :)
phenomenal
Just listening to the end result at the beginning (btw thank you, not enough youtubers do this) and I was immediately impressed and able to appreciate the level of detail and nuance in the production! I can already tell this will go deeper then I expected and I'm all here for it!
Wow, thank you!
Amazing tutorial!! This is INCREDIBLY helpful.
spot on
loved your video . very helpful ❤❤
Fabulous introductory comments I’ll Factor! I like the sound you got too.
Great video! This thing of mixing VSt's with samples changed everything! thank you very much!
Glad it helped!
Hands down the best tutorial ive seen. Really good explanations and attentions to detail. Legend
My pleasure grateful it has been helpful for ya.
Excellent remake. Thanks for sharing the details in making 70’s beat
Loving this new Silk Sonic record so much, and seeing you do such a great job re producing it makes me even happier about my Addictive Drums 2 Purchase for Black Friday! I've always used sample packs and one shots in a sampler with velocity modulating the filter cutoff and sometimes even the pitch slightly to make my one shot samples have a bit more life, but I'm really pleased to see live acoustic drums and more complex grooves becoming mainstream again. Drumming is an art, and the backbone of any music, seriously, hats off to any skilled drummer, can't wait to dive in. 10 Kits, 10 Midi Packs & 10 Individual kit pieces for $249 is a killer price when you consider recording live drums at home with 1 kit or hiring session drummers for each track.
Awesome insight there. Glad the video inspired you.
thanks for your tips, really interesting !! Greetings from New-Caledonia
Loved the Details!
great tut, thank you!
You are honestly the GOAT! Very educational love learning from you!
I was searching so long for a tutorial like thisss…really appreciate this!!! You not only helping me but others to develop our sound(bring back this gold sound!!)🙏🏾🙏🏾

Amazing production...Thank you!

Thank you so much for doing all of these tutorials. You have no idea how much I appreciate everything that you do. They help me better understand everything that I want to know. And I haven't found any other videos on here that explain it as well as you. Seriously I am so thankful for these videos. There's so much to learn.
My pleasure. Glad the channel had been helpful for you
This was awesome, specially to get that natural feel, thanks. Would love more on this type of production.
Long time watcher but just subscribed and commented for the first time. Love all of your tips! Clipping and lowering the gain instead of deleting is a great tip - thanks for that!
Love this video! Great to see how you go about creating realistic drums 🙌
This is genius level stuff! When you played the complete thing I honestly couldn't tell the difference. 🔥
Thanks hope the video was helpful.
This is the video I've been looking for... So authentic
Thanks man.
No problem!

Excellent!. Please more of this. There is so little of this genre on the internet. Thanks
dude you are so crazy talented.
Wowwww
U nailed this bru💯
Just amazing wow!
I’ve found myself saying “he’s so clever” a few times watching this! Great great work! Inspiring and managed to learn a few things!
My pleasure. Thanks for taking the time to watch
Silk Sonic's album is the result of multiple creative minds on a journey for the right sounds for one track. Remaking it is easy as the hard work is mostly done. The nuances and complexities of this song, and others off the album, are drastically different from most of todays "beat makers" that loop the same pattern for 3 minutes. Patience, creativity, and innovation are what you're really going to need to compose something up to par or better. Not saying this to disparage anybody, quite the opposite in fact. I'd want to hear this level of creativity not only from traditional musicians, but digital musicians as well.
Agree. I see this as a complement to the brilliance shown in the original.
THANKS! 🙏🏽
Fantastic !!
nice! great job, thank you
Only one word is needed for this remake: Wooow!!!! Absolutely stunning!!!!
One word for this comment! Awesome
Awesome job! We need this for vocals mixing too next!! 😂
thanks!
Wow! I searched for this tutorial. Never thought that it actually exists. And uploaded today😁 so lucky
Lovin' the Poly D!
Incredible! I really enjoyed this session.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for making this. I love that Philly Soul sound and haven't quite nailed it in my beats.
Great!! A lot of knowledge here..thanks so much...
My pleasure!
Appreciate bro...this advice helped me alot🔥
Time to put it to practice 💯🤘
🔥🔥🔥
i enojy this ill factor production videos. BUT i feel theres a big thing missing wich is the WHY this song (or others) work. The chords, melodys, rythm (drums vs. guitar ex) and thats the most important thing in songs. so i feel this is more like a "how to sound like". Thats the only thing im missing in this videos, a little theory . Great work
Agree. I also felt like something was missing. No theory behind this type of music at all. Didn’t really learn how to make this type of music more so how to manipulate the sounds with effects. Good tutorial though.
inspiring
Ahh - getting at the James Jamerson bass tone. I really was looking to hear that name 😂
Phenomenal tutorial brother!
My god, this man is a master at his craft.
Superb recreation!
Great video. Thank you so much
You are so welcome!
This was extremely helpful please make more!! 😁
Fantastic stuff, always enjoy your tutorials especially as I use ableton.
Thanks for sharing!!! I thought this record was all the way live!!! But it’s nice to know that you can get away with midi!!! My favorite is what you used!!!
amazing. Cheers
Best tutorial on TH-cam 🔥
SPOT ON
So is this comment!
Super detailed! Helpful, encouraging and inspiring, for sure! Thank you Ivan! I love glass animals atm. Maybe this next time?
Check the channel I made one for them already.
@@BeatAcademy Thank you I will! 🙏🏼✌🏼💜
You're amazing man 🔥🔥🔥🔥 helped so much Thank-you
My pleasure

thanks
