I know it's just a random battle scar you chose to add to the design, but every time I look at Ashfur's ear all I can think is "haha he got taken to the cutter"

I never used to give cat different faces, maybe just bigger/smaller/fluffier/less fluffy bodies and different tail shapes, but after owning 4 cats I'm shocked at how different they can all look. And not just the eyes or bodies. They way they hold themselves and walk, the shape of their snout and nose, mouth shape, their expression, etc. Cats are just as unique as humans, and its so cool to see an artist exploring this!
Like one of my cats has small, round cute features, but angular grumpy eyes, another with big round eyes and cheeks, but a defined snout and a lil crook in his nose (it's the cutest thing ever)
I like the detail of Ashfur having a tiny bit of red in his eyes
i think trying to have a completeley unique faceshape etc for every cat is a hard thing to do since cats cant rly be as varied as human faces in that way imo
They're much more varied tf you talking about? We don't have pushed-in face persian variants, nor as many dot and stripes possibilities, nor as many eye color possibilities. They have the same amount of variability if not(absolutely and most definitely, not actually if) even more in their facial morphology.

it rly depends on the artstyle, i can understand that point for realistic cat drawings but personally i really enjoy exploring different shape language in designs
@@BingBongFairy💀 when your drawing its harder especially when they are all normal breeds and when they mostly dont have any stripes or whatever also no need to curse its just a comment you dont need to give a paragraph reply about why they are wrong.

also eye color isn't face shape
Crow feather got the "Feather" in honor of feather tail so it wasn't because he was "Feathery" 😅

i'll be honest i could tell most of the characters apart in your artstyle pretty well already but theres also nothing wrong with improvement and growing as a artist. amazing work as always sky
Y'know... I actually haven't seen Cinder drawn with a warm gray palette. I oftentimes see her be bluer. And, y'know what? I kinda like the warm gray, it works well with her eyes and I think it makes them pop out in a pleasing manner. Great work!(I also love when people draw Cinder w/ rlly thick, fluffy and round tails, it just adds a lot of charm to her overall look ^w^ )
I will always think blue star has a longer muzzle than most other cat.

hey vro, you can only make literal cats look so different. it's great to have unique designs, but color is a huge part of that! not trying to say your improvement was bad or anything, just wanting you to keep in mind that everything was already fantastic and not to worry about it too much

I love the idea of Ashfur having bloodshot eyes and, knowing the kind of cat that Squirrelflight is, she would of course see past that and ignore the blatant red flag. AHEM _Brambleclaw_ (Since she’s very openminded and doesn’t discriminate.) I love all of your designs here! Crowfeather looks sooooo mysterious and Cinderpelt looks so gorgeous!

@@Greatflabbergasted thank you! I haven’t read the books in like a year, and I haven’t read the new ones so I forget/don’t know a lot of stuff about him. But now that you reminded me of some of the things he did, you’re right, he’s not a great cat 😭 I will definitely check out some of the videos. Thanks for explaining

its funny how you indirectly made ashfur triangle ish, and in shapes meaning, triangle=danger, square=smart, responsible, circle=friendly, lovely
For me, I feel the eye shape in my drawings show the character's personality, and make them more distinct. So same face syndrome is easier to fix!. Big, small, round, slanted, upturned, downturned, lidded, ect. The eyes are the window to the soul after all!
I love how unique your Ashfur design is! I've never seen him look like that. May I ask how you got such great anatomy and the tecniques you use? I honestly don't really like my current artstyle and I would like to change it (maybe still keep it for animation and stuff but still). Absolutely amazing art!

I feel like ashfur’s head was made a bit small for his body size but his body is also seems like cloudpaws head on tiger claws body so idk

Tbh, they look different enough for me.
Same face syndrome is less bad in cats due to them not actually having a big visible variation in faces due to their fur covering a lot. Obviously there's eye shape, eye position, muzzle shape, nose shape, ear shape, and vague jaw shape differences, but those are pretty subtle.
Your art amazes me anyway lol

I haven’t posted on my TH-cam yet, but I do draw! I started on my art journey with drawing cats, what I have found is looking at certain breeds, shapes and especially the animals they are named for helps. My art style is cartoony but….It works! Anyways, these look beautiful.
As someone who also has a cartoony style, looking at different breeds has definitely helped with my own same face/body syndrome
Many of my OC's now have traits or are entirely based on a specific breed, or are a combination of similar breeds, like one of my OC's has traits from maine coons and norwegian forest cats

Wondering Whats Easier to draw to you (to anyone really) but to a more advanced artist level experience- So Humans vs Humaniods/Human like creatures vs Animals? What is better or worse to draw for beginner artists or just in general?
For beginners I would really just go with what brings you joy the most and branch out from there! I started drawing animals and then branched out to humanoid characters.
If you want to learn to draw but you go directly for something that stresses you out then you're not gonna have fun and not develop love for the process imo!

I dont think you really have a problem with the shapes. There's 1407 or so characters. No wonder they look alike (they're also all related so it makes sense)
