In Royal Rangers we were taught the value of a first aid kit, I always carry one in my vehicle for when there is trouble and I may need to help someone. The first time I had to really use it, I was the one that needed it. My jeep was in a serious accident, my 20 year old airbags didn't deploy, and my seatbelt didn't work. I relaxed before the impact - I knew to do that. Last thing I remember thinking - just relax, there is nothing else left to do, don't tense up that makes it worse (broken elbows, shoulders, etc) just let the seatbelt catch you. Next thing I know I rag dolled off the steering wheel, and cut my forehead open. I turned the car off, checked myself over, I knew I was in shock because I was very aware, and felt no pain. I got out of the car grabbing first aid kit and got to safety. I opened my kit and had no idea what I was looking at. I didn't know a bandaid from a pair of scissors. Fortunately some person stopped and helped me find some gauze. I never thought I needed it for myself. A few moments later the police arrived. The police officer was amazed that I had a First Aid kit, she exclaimed: "No one ever has a First-Aid kit!" - moral of the story - don't neglect your seatbelts, don't trust 20 year old xj airbags, and always carry a First-Aid kit!

That is the sickest Jeep from old that I've seen in a long time. I did however fix up a 1975 CJ5 that was the same color. I Love It. And you did exceptional work for not doing it for a living. I've been restoring for 35 years now, but you've done well... excellent video work too.

Love this project! One thing I’d have done with the headliner off- would have used rust oleum truck liner instead of rust stop. That will inherently encapsulate the rust, but also add more insulation, for both noise and heat.

At 12:57 I see a York A/C Compressor with Backseat valves used for R-12. I'll bet that systems leaks and needs replacing. Let me know if you need an upgrade to R-134a, I am an Engineer that has all tools and parts to make everything for a 1970s York A/C system and make it work well. I even preserve the OEM appearance as period correct because I produce these for my other car passion, my 1974 Ferrari 246 on YT channel "Club Dino USA".
A/C is not just assembling parts but understanding that filling requires the user to balance the condensor's Subcooling ability to be able to "feed" the Superheat for the evaporator. Controlling the location of the Gas-Liquid State Change is far more important that heat exchanger size.
I have complete digital A/C gauges and producing tools. I would budget $2000 in parts as a conservative guess for all new parts in the system and be happy if it was far less. LMK if I can help, I am a past TR customer and am in your buyer deatils

I enjoy having it very original but the smell gets a bit old and you can’t cruise with the back window down. I’m motivated to fuel inject but a cat could let me enjoy keeping it original. Running it on 100LL is a definite helper. Did you amp meter bypass / delete on yours for the volt meter? Muy importante!

Really dig old Jeeps. Had a '75 Wagoneer, have a '77 CJ 5. Props to what youre doing/have done with the Cherokee. But after all the emphasis on upgrades to the interior because of too many different shades of color you go with avred cooler..😮 Green man you need the green cooler. Tho those classic metal bodied coolers are not quite as good as the the newer Yetees, Rticks, etc (see what i did there) they are pretty decent units. Anyway its a cool project that an old dude like me appreciates. 👍

We had a 73 Jeep Waggoner with Quadra-Trac and a low range box with a warn 8000 winch out front. This brought a lot of memories!we actually installed a divider behind the back sear. I understand just wanting to get it on the road, but just taking the time to really address the rust is always the best option. Painting over rust never works and covering it with sound-damping material is just going to make a bad time for the next guy who wants to do it right. You should have removed the roof cross members and chemically removed or walnut shell blasted the rust. Yes, it would have taken some more time, but it would have been a completely correct job that would never have to be revisited again.

Why would take those super epic classic seats out?? Those are super sweet & what keeps the heritage of these rare classics.. I'd put those back in asap even if there not as comfortable as new seats.. thats what owning a classic is all about.. using it as it was originally designed.. you may as well take out the period correct cooler.. lantern & everything else including "the cool vintage camping gear".. otherwise have fun with your restomod... its a shame to see these rare trucks get ruined 😔

For example I need to replenish one of my extinguishers because a homeless man started the side of the road on fire and ran. PS I sat there on the side of the road with my extinguisher and my shovel for 30 minutes until the fire department showed up so be prepared it may take time for a response.
