Big hair and bigger sunglasses😉I feel like I'm back in the 80's again.😂 Ya😂squished pocket eggs sucks.👍Time to start getting ready for next season, it has been great watching your family grow into your farm keep up the great work. I Hope you all had a Great Christmas and have a Happy New Year.😁
I'm watching this on Saturday, 12-30-23, and 2024, which is like 26 hours away. So sincerity is only 26 hours. What are you going to grow in your high tunnels? If the sun is out, the idea of those tunnels is to be able to help you start crops in cooler temperatures. If you can keep at least one if those tunnels can be heated during your night hours, and the sun should heat it during daylight hours. If not your tomatoes or peppers, how about crops like cabbage, kale, and those types. At least through the first 3 months of 2024. And a way to heat thst high tunnel at night is the candle in ceramic flower pots. That handful of soil you picked up looked dark to me. Anyway, I love the video. The puppies are so freaking cute, and the sour dough looked good.
unfortunately I have no way of heating them so they are just season extension! I can plant in them about a month earlier than outdoors in the spring so im going to use them to get a head start on things like tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers as well as a few sensitive flowers like ranunculus! I am also going to use the winter months to try to have hardy greens as long as possible!
High tunnels should be a lot of fun. I might get one someday, even though where I am at it is debatable about how much benefit they provide. You may even be able to plant citrus if you have a heat source.
@@honeytrailfarm Start saving the cattle lick tubs if you use them. I would start with peaches and nectarines since they could take much lower temperatures, and if you can keep the temperatures in the twenties or even mid teens, you should be able to grow some of the cold hardy citrus such as satsuma's and kumquats. I had a Ujukitsu lemon (sweet lemon with no tartness) survive temperatures down to 12 - 13 degrees for one night.
