Her comic is so cute! I remember when Kasey and Lavendertowne had a couple of collabs a few years ago I would love to see that again but like drawing frames from each other's comics even though it probably won't happen lol
As someone who tends to stress out so much about making storylines neat and perfect, this video was so calming to watch. It's okay to make thing up as I go, nobody will know. (I also have this pressure to make the sketch layer of my digital art perfect for some reason, as if anyone would ever see that...)
I’ve been watching you for years! I’m a foster mom and you helped me connect with my placements with drawing. You’re an amazing artist and I like how you keep things simple and approachable for newbies.
@@KaseyTheGolden It has a nice "roundness" to it and I like that you write it all with the small differences between al the letters instead than just do the alphabet and copy it. More work but it has a reason and I do appreciate that. ☺
I feel like the universe is speaking to me when videos like this are suggested on my feed. I want to make a comic but my writing skills are trash 😩🥴❤️ maybe I’m overthinking it and need to make something regardless of how silly it sounds. Thank you for the tips and cute art Kasey 🥰
I do a longform story comic in the same writing method that Kasey writes her comic- wing it as you go along. There are some people that absolutely cannot push forward with a comic until a script and everything is planned out first, but if you find yourself too unconfident or scripting isn't working out for you, just dive in and wing it. see what happens. If that fails too, maybe you can try a middle ground. Sometimes laying out the visuals first and THEN planning the dialogue around it works wonders! Making comics is a bunch of trial and error until you find a workflow that fits your schedule and thought processes. Have fun and good luck!
Thank you to EVERYONE who replied to my comment 😊😍 I’m in the process of creating that comic as we speak 😋✨it’s a such a pleasure knowing there’s still people who encourage others to do what makes them happy ❤️✨
Bruh… this is some of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.. I’ve never seen someone’s brain operate like mine and it is a huge boost in confidence. And this color pallet idea… yes.
I like free form comics done in the way that you're doing peryou're doing. You know not really planning a script in all that, and just relying on your imagination.. I think that's what a lot of these artists are missing these days. Open heart creativity.
Oohhhh yesss a comic, I would love to see Kasey do it! I’m so exciteedddd for the video :) Ps I really like your type of art style, it’s very like a comic style and you would be great as a children’s illustrator, so go and pursue your dreams :) 👍👍
I just LOVE watching you draw this-it was mesmerizing! Mine is: "Didn't draw the hand backwards". This has kept me from drawing people and is the real reason I only do abstract art.
Rewatching this video the following September, and hearing you talk about how you don't really have a plan, that's my thought process making a story as well. It forms in my head and I just draw how it'll play out.
Ive had a comic i have been working on but neglected. It was all done traditionally and I did the boxes and speech bubbles by hand as well. My handwriting is not that great so seeing Kasey do hers by hand makes me determined to perfect mine. I don't know that it will ever be finished but i hope to be on Kasey's level someday. ❤️ I love reading about the scouts
Awesome comic. I just want to say thanks because I have been watching your videos. And it's making me want to draw more and more. So thanks for getting me back into drawing.
Love how you make comics. How it should happen naturally. I never write a script prefer it flow. Don't forget to tell the story of Ghost Beard tho. Because a huge amount of people have no education on Ghost Beard. Ghost of hair a guy who s balding use to have now on his face.
Well Kasey, you are quite a prolific artist and I have seen you churn out a lot of art in many different ways. I believe that one of the BEST “comic”or story writers/artists I have seen on TH-cam is Dina Norlund! Even Her short story books are truly amazing and so inspirational too! I have enjoyed reading your sketch scout comics and I even have a couple of your merch pieces! I am starting to save for an Ant book. Have you decided on a format or style for this project? A coloring book? Or coffee table art book? Well I want to be ready when you get ready to release your Ant opus! See ya next video!

Why do I keep hearing a very faint old timey sci-fi blasting noise like one would hear in an old video game?! DX Also this was interesting...defiantly not what I do for even my joke comic strips, but whatever works. Ya know?
i had an epiphany about the letter I - with upper case “I” the lines on top and bottom aren’t actually part of the letter they’re just serifs! i realize now that should have been obvious, but way back in hand writing class they taught us to draw the lines, so I always did it that way, but when i started hand lettering it felt really wrong. Now i only draw them as one line.
It’s funny that you use technical pencil for line art because I use it for sketching lol I used to line with the marker brush before I downloaded custom brushes

What’s the first badge you would earn as a Sketch Scout? Probably “drew on the wrong layer” as I did it SO MANY TIMES in this video. 😂
My dog steals my pencils and hides them for attention soo.. The finding my freaking pencil badge XD

Unfinished sketchbook badge
Most likely the "never ending drawing" badge. I tend to start and seldom finish my projects.
