    I was a little confused by your tutorial because the texture for the carrot is very specific and detailed, and I had a very simple texture for my object. Btw, it helped me a lot, thanks! (I was trying to make a lightsaber, specifically)

    This doesn't seem to have the same workaround in R20... I tried but I didn't make it work. Transparency reacts differently I get a white structure instead of the object becoming luminescent...

    One of the most in-depth tut I can find. Keep it up! I have a project 195 frames long and I was just rendering it with the picture viewer and it renders each frame but just before it starts rendering the next frame the frame background goes all 'Corrupt' with these randomly coloured lines in replacement. Is there anyone that has c4d that could help me out? It would be much appreciated.

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Hassan Haider Weird! You might be seeing the Alpha being calculated if you have Enable Alpha turned on, when you load the image into an app those "corrupt" lines and garbledygook won't show up

    • @hassanhaider2380
      @hassanhaider2380 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually yes! A few hours later the same day I looked at he png sequence files and they were absolutely fine. It was related to the Alpha Channel. I then imported the sequence into After Effects and I'm actually just about the render the whole thing!

    This is great! I was looking for something like that but GI was killing my times, I will definetly try this on my project!
    Btw, does the Light Source object need to be textured in order for it work? 'Cause i get the whole "Light inside the object" thing but I'm not sure about that part!
    Thanks a lot EJ!

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      VEry welcome! It doesnt need to be textured, no.

    I love your tutorials, thank you so much! Any ideas how to apply this effect to metaball?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make a copy of the metaball and apply a Displacer and add a Color into the Shader in the Displacers Shading Channel so the mesh will grow a bit based on the Displacer strength. I use this same technique in my Creating Outlines with Sketch & Toon tutorial

    So this way works no problem for me; it's when I use Extrude on my spline. The area light only wants to light the caps and not the fillet. What am I missing in my steps?
    ...Yes I know it's a video from 2016 and it's 3/4 of the way thru 2019

  • @jameseverett4976
    @jameseverett4976 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The bad thing about area lights is they won't let you have visible light [or volumetric], or else you could have alot more cool effects. Or do you know a way to make the visible option available on area lights?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct, Area Lights don't allow for Volumetric effects, but you could always position Volumetric Lights strategically along the surface of the object for similar effects, or do it in post!

    Hey dude, your tutorials are such a great help!! Quite the talent. Wondering if it's possible using the matrix mograph and inheritance effector to morph a group of objects into another group. I followed ur tutorial about morphing one object into another but I can't seem to do it with a null of objects as children. I hope this makes sense. Cam.

    • @eyedesyn

    • @eyedesyn

      I would add the Glow in AfterEffects to prevent that, or add the DOF in AE as well.

    hi, tq, but i have a question, i have created some objects and tried this, but it has some weird noise in the final outcome, what would be causing it? how can i reduce it?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! I cover why that may happen and that's due to the Samples option, just be sure to up that and you'll remove those splotchy noises!

    I'm trying to use this for a LED Line but 1) i get noise in my light and 2) there are focal spots around the edges of the walls. Any idea how i can solve this?

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mention in the video that you can crank up the Samples to avoid that type of thing, hopefully that will help in this case as well!

    • @SelbyRL
      @SelbyRL 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, i did crank it up to 500 already, i will try max tomorrow hehe... Changing the distance of the samples solves it a little bit... But still some focal spots. The noise was fixed by cranking up render settings of shadow subdivision

    • @SelbyRL
      @SelbyRL 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BlercNet
      @BlercNet 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry very new to this, i mean is it possible for the light to act as a rainbow, or more than one color. I saw that you can change the lights color in to a gradient if it's a spotlight or omni, but it wont work as an area light
