Wow. I can’t believe this! It seems too good to be true. I need to make balloons, but I HATE wrapping balls in fondant… it’s so hard and annoying. I also dont want to use sphere molds. Is it really this easy? And I see you said you use nestle melts. Is that just like the white chocolate chips in the baking aisle, Or does Nestlé actually make candy melts? Thank you so much for the tutorial!!
It really is that easy, and yes the nestle melts that are chocolate in the baking aisle of the supermarket, just be sure to use an oil based colour for the Chocolate like colour mill
Btw I’m planning to make a similar cake I already purchased the styrofoam balls I’m just trying to decide whether I want to cover the balls in fondant or try your method which looks much easier!
I made them on the day off but you could make in advance but you might have a little condensation from the fridge which is bound to happen anyway once you refrigerate cake when finished
@@oli45c did you use coloring that was specifically for chocolate or just any gel coloring? Also..is the cake covered in fondant or buttercream? Can you tell how you colored it for the grass and sky?
Hi Joann, yes I used oil based color for chocolate specifically the brand color mill and the color was baby blue. I used the same color in my buttercream for the sky. The cake is buttercream not fondant. I applied the buttercream in the usual way to cover the cake just with in bands of color so green then white then blue then scraped around the cake as usual. I do have footage somewhere I’ll see if still have it.
Mind Blown 🤯 you just saved me hours 😂 thanks 🙏
So beautiful!
Thank you. Makes me want to do cakes again. Where did you purchase the foam balls? Thanks in advance.
I just purchased it a from a variety store in there craft section, I have also seen them in cake stores but I’m in Australia
Thank you. Found the foam on Amazon as well 😁
Where did you buy the balls
How did you make the Peter rabbit on the bottom of the cake?
How to melt white chocolate ?
I melt In 30 second burst in the microwave. Check and stir every thirty seconds until fully melted

@@oli45c hiya so can gel colour not work for chocolate melts?
How do you get your chocolate to melt so well? Mine always starts to harden super fast and it’s never this runny!

I use nestle melts the chocolate is already tempered and it just melts really lovely and liquid
Covering balls in fondant is very fiddly and time consuming this way is so much faster and cost effective too.
Hi! Can you make these in advance or day of? If you can make in advance, how do you store - fridge?
I made them on the day off but you could make in advance but you might have a little condensation from the fridge which is bound to happen anyway once you refrigerate cake when finished
Makes sense - thank you!
How far in advance can I make these? And can I refrigerate them?
Yes you can make in advance and store in the fridge you can make a few days in advance they won’t be edible anyway
WUNDERSCHÖÖÖÖÖN🥰
Great idea!! Did u use candy melts or an actual white chocolate?
Hi Erika, I just used nestle “melts” white chocolate.

What is the name of those balls?
They are just craft styrofoam balls.
What are those balls called
They are faux balloons made using styrofoam balls dipped in chocolate.
I make balloons out of chocolate. And then decorate them.
I tried this but the balloons were really dry and tasted horrible.
