Saint Leopold Bogdan Mandic - OFM Capuchin - 1866 to 1942, B 1976 & C 1983

Choosing St. Leopold Bogdan Mandic as a example for a confessor seems to be close to Pope Francis’ heart. The Pope requested the relics of St. Leopold to come to Rome for the Jubilee of Mercy. Pope Francis also offered St. Leopold as an example of a merciful priest for the Jubilee Year of Mercy 2016. Born in 1866 and died in 1942, St. Leopold Mandic ofm Capuchin was beatified in 1976 and canonized in 1983 by St. John Paul II. The Liturgical Feast of Saint Leopold Mandic is May 12, and The Franciscan Media shows St. Leopold's feast as celebrated on July 28.
