I’m 56 years old and I have my grandmother’s molcajete and I will be giving it to one of my sons when the time comes. I’m grateful for people like you that keep our traditions going strong.
Thank you for sharing such a meaningful tradition with us! It's incredibly heartwarming to hear stories of passing down cherished family heirlooms like your grandmother's molcajete. It's a privilege to play a small part in keeping those traditions alive. Wishing you and your family many more memorable moments shared around the kitchen ❤
I’m not Hispanic, but when I get one and have children, I’ll ensure one of them gets it. My mother gave my sisters many cooking items. Not me, her only and oldest son. I don’t really know how to cook well.
@@jflsdknf I ordered one recently and the quality is amazing. Typically you deal with balancing issues with handmade molcajetes but the ones from masienda are very sturdy and balanced
I've had my oldest one for about 35 years A gift from a friend from his daddy across the river. The more you use it, the better in gets. Don't forget to grind up some rice first about a half a cup at the time Good Luck
This molcajete specifically is the best one I have ever had. Extemely high quality. I hope it lasts in my family for the next 100 years as Enrique mentioned! Is there a way for us to support Enrique and the others directly?
I’m in the market for a good molcajete. I love making home made salsa like mi familia did when I grew up in Mexico. He is right about about salsa doesn’t taste the same even if you use the same ingredients, same portions. Salsa always tastes better if it’s made in a molcajete.
What are the delicious looking things that everyone is eating around the table at the end? They look like a cross between a sope and a tostada sort of. Can you teach us how to make them? The texture and bite look unreal!
You're very welcome! We're thrilled to hear that you found the video interesting and informative. If you have any more questions or if there's anything else you'd like to learn about, feel free to let us know. Thanks for watching and enjoying the content!
I am fortunate that my mom gave me an extra molcajete to grind my spices and/or make the fideo soup broth part...I remember growing up that's the only thing she would let me help w the grinding of the spices w garlic mm always smelled so good!
i adore my molcajete, even if it isn't my mom's, as she still has hers. too bad my tias misplaced my abuelita's. :( i use it lots for serrano salsa, habanero salsa, guacamole, & sometimes i'll even borrow the tejolote to smash some garlic on the cutting board. great quick pro tip!
La salsa de molcajete es mejor porque machucando los ingredientes suelta mas moléculas de sabor. Y mientras una liquadora usa navajas filosas para cortarlos muy finos, pero deja las parades celulares de plantas mas intactos, soltando menos sabor.
I just got my molcajete as a mother's day present!!! It's BEAUTIFUL!! I have a question. Do I have to cure it before use and how, please and Thank you!!
I just placed an order for a 9in molcajete with a lot of corn. I am curious if your molcajete is still made by the same manufacturer in this video? If not who is your new manufacturer?
Just bought mine all the way from AZ! Stop singing to my wallet. She is a romantic and she is just not equipped to refuse this level of poetry k? Gonna have all Masienda gear next time we knoe it...

Just got our order delivered today, it is absolutely stunning. It is not only useful, it is a work of art.❤
We're so happy to hear this! ❤
Love Mexico and its people. God Bless!
Un "abrazón fuerte" al pueblo mexicano, desde Brasil
Saludos! ❤
Much respect to the Hispanic culture and cuisine!
Didn't even know I wanted one of these until I watched this video. 🙂 They're delivering it next week.
Amazing, thanks for buying and hope you love it!
I want to buy one. How and where can I purchase one.
How do you like it?
@@jflsdknf I ordered one recently and the quality is amazing. Typically you deal with balancing issues with handmade molcajetes but the ones from masienda are very sturdy and balanced
Be carful when buy online they sell fake ones that use different rock material and aren’t like the original ones that are made in Mexico 🇲🇽
Makes me glad to have purchased from masienda, hard to find an authentic molcajete anymore. Thanks for sharing the video ordered mine today!!
Looks like really hard and difficult work. Respect! The result is beautiful!
We agree!
Wow, had no idea these are so necessary. The flavor imparted from the stone is illuminating. Thanks for making this video, y gracias a Enrique. 😊
Thank you for watching!
These are hand-made for the food preparer. To prepare hand-made food! Such a good service to everyone. 🙏🏼
Not so much gathering any
flavors as much as a blender
pulverizing and heating up
vegetables/herbs with a fast
blade and altering flavor in
a bad way.
Acabo de comprar mi molcajete , gracias por sus bendecidas manos y su obra , de MEXICO 🇲🇽 para el MUNDO 🌎

Oh never mind,I just watched Rick Bayless video on how to do it. Thanks !

What are the delicious looking things that everyone is eating around the table at the end? They look like a cross between a sope and a tostada sort of. Can you teach us how to make them? The texture and bite look unreal!
Enrique calls them gorditas -- in the centro of Puebla they're typically known as chalupas or sopes.
@@Masienda the texture of the ones your video look much better than any sope I've had before! Maybe some inspiration for a future how to video?
Love that!

Was curing a new one that I bought the other day then found this video.
Good stuff!
We're glad you enjoyed it ❤
Great job!!! I definitely appreciate a well made product.
Que belleza de trabajo. Amo mi molcajete!
How to tell if mine came from you? Looks like the ones you made, but with a pig head. Tool marks looks like it was finished with that round blade.
Qué gran trabajo

Exacto! ❤
Power tool also creates unwanted heat that changes
flavors in a bad way
Muchas gracias Senor por favor ,busque la manera de protegerse la mano, quiza una esponja o toalla. Cuidense. Bendiciones .

Yes. Use a mixture of rice, salt and pepper

We guarantee that our partners in Puebla, Mexico, hand craft each molcajete from volcanic stone.
Do you have a website so i can buy some?
