    loved the video. I used HP5 and FP4 a lot and Kodak 200 and Portra 400 mainly on the streets.

    Nice work. In 35mm with sunny days and for my daily basis APX100. Cloudy days and personal projects HP5 in HC-110. I do shoot Fomapan 100 now and then, mostly when I’m on a tight budget. In color 35mm, Fujicolor c200 is my choice.

    I've been watching this channel for years, but had stopped watching "Film TH-cam" in the recent year or so. In these past few days I've started watching some again, and I gotta say, you are easily top 3 film photographers out there. Forgive me for qualifying with "Film" because of course you are a great photographer in general, but specifically in the real of film shooters, you're clearly one of the most consistent with high quality compositions, subjects, and exposure. Wow!

      I agree. And for whatever reason it’s cheaper than TriX in the US these days.

      Same here with Delta 400! Once you got the contrast right in the development it really shines and I also prefer it to HP5+. And here in Europe Ilford is considerably cheaper than Kodak anyway.

    Great video Hashem! I almost always shoot Ultramax 400 on the street and I just recently did a POV video shooting street with that film at the NFL Draft in Kansas City. I feel a strong urge to shoot a lot more black and white and my favorite B&W film is actually Rollei Superpan believe it or not

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate! (clearly I'm falling behind on comments 😅) Superpan is really nice, I don't see it around as much... but might find some soon and shoot more of it.

    TriX pushed to 1600 was SO much fun to play with! Consistently good results, TONS of great contrast with surprisingly low graininess. When they killed Kodachrome, that was the beginning of the film massacrer. 25 ASA? OMG, what epic colors as long as you had good light!! Nowadays it's whatever Fuji film that hasn't been cancelled and strangely, Kodak E100!! EE100 seems to scan quite nicely with good color.... Good video Mr. M!!!

    My picks are: b/w: Illford HP5 400 (obviously, right?), AGFA APX 400, Fomapan 400, Kentmere Pan 400 - color: Kodak Colorplus (if i can find some). Kodak Gold & Portra 400 (if i can afford it). I use Olympus cameras, the OM-2N & Mju 2.

    For now, Kentmere 400 35mm pushed to 1600 is my most favourite BnW film. For colour it would be Fuji pro400h exposed at 200

    I loved ProImage, but it’s getting hard to find. They keep hamstringing us, lol.
    I also used Superia 400 as my everyday carry film. Paired with the XA it was an inexpensive way to shoot film daily. I’m going to have to try bulk loading!
    Great vid as usual 🙌

    B&W = Ilford HP5; Color = Kodak Color Plus 200

  • @DavidWilliams7037A

    Thanks for the video Hamish. I too live in Melbourne. It is now impossible to find affordable colour negative 35mm film, and harder to find ANY colour stock. I cannot afford to pay $27 for a roll of Portra (if you can find it in stock.) The stocks of 120 colour film fortunately are in better supply, but still no 'budget' offerings. So I shoot B&W film (Kentmere and Fomapan are still affordable) and for colour I revert to digital.

    My favorite street would be bulk Tmax 400, or Fuji Superia 400. I must re-try HP5 though. The only rolls I’ve shot of that turned out pretty flat. As so many people have said, you can always add contrast..

    • @LuqmanHM

      I would shoot hp5 at pushed to 800

  • @TheChosenOne_
    @TheChosenOne_ ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I hope one day in the future there will be high speed color film again. My b/w choice is apx 400 cause it’s cheap and available. For color its more difficult, the easiest to get in 400 is ultramax which is fine but I’m not really a fan of the look. Colorplus is great but sadly 200 iso is really hard to manage in central europe when it’s not super sunny. So honestly my choice for street is often digital unfortunately

    • @extremelydave

    I think Kodak Aerocolor IV is also a color film great for street shooting in my opinion. Personally I’ve been enjoying Kodak Gold lately purely because it’s available locally, affordably.
    Kodak ProImage 100 is my personal favorite but it’s so expensive nowadays.

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @TheFilmFellow

      @@pushingfilm I get my ProImage online where it’s now around $70-$75. Locally, at least here in Texas, there has been no ProImage available for quite a while. I’ll still pay more for ProImage because it’s worth it to me.
      I get my local film at Don’s Used Photo Equipment which made a brief appearance on All Through A Lens’ last podcast episode. According to him, Tod, the son of Don film prices eventually will come down again! Let’s hope so.
