INFJ male here. My happiest times in my life have been where I found myself serendipitously in a small, tight group. These were wonderful times, but alas, never lasted long enough. Also, INFJs tend to do better where the group is very supportive of each other or where the focus is spiritual, IMO. Of course, another sustenance is deep, meaningful one on one friendships.
Thanks for sharing! I whole-heartedly agree with what you shared as an ENFJ. I hope you have a supportive community in your current situation. Have you ever explored the Enneagram? It is also an amazing tool for self growth that most INFJs love!
This interview was very insightful. I am an INFJ female and I can agree with a lot of what he said. It’s very interesting to see the male version of INFJ and the similarities and a few differences due to social expectations. In the beginning of the interview I felt his pain when talking about his parents. I felt how he restrained himself but I was able to feel it all. I also disappear into movies, and tv shows. Escaping from reality is so soothing. Honestly, I dislike being an INFJ because I don’t know how to be a healthy INFJ. I’m currently in therapy, on my second zoom therapy appointment, and I hope it will help eventually. I really like how you interview people, I love how you know what questions to ask and especially with the INFJ, you give them insight about their feelings and experiences and even validate them. I think we INFJs have such a difficult to accepting who we are, we have a difficult time understanding ourselves. It’s all about purpose but personally, I have a lot of fears. I’m stuck in fear right now and according to my therapist I am on survival mode. She wants to take me off survival mode and start living day to day without an alarm on 24/7. I will buy your book because I need help raising my children. I don’t want to make the mistakes my parents did with me.
Thanks for buying my book! I don't know how your finances are but I only charge $249 to do a brain map with everyone in your family and discuss how to relate to each. I also do 1 on 1 sessions virtually for only $99. Do you know your Enneagram type? It can also be a very helpful tool for understanding how you formed your personality through the way you used your temperament to adapt to your environment. Here is a free test: www.truity.com/test/enneagram-personality-test Let me know which type you are
Infj too, please watch the "empath in recovery" videos, at Vital Mind Psychology (on TH-cam) They're short but helped me so much. He's one of the few professionals I've found who understands the many levels, and facets of certain, rare types. Good luck
@@wendygossett5319 I don’t know my enneagram but I will take the test. My finances are not great right now. But I will have this in mind for when I can, for sure. Thanks for replying.
Great interview, thanks. As an infj male, I resonate with this guy, to the same high degree that I have with only a few others on TH-cam. Like a doppelganger, but energetically, not just appearance wise. Just wish you would have covered when/how he discovered Meyers Briggs, that's often a significant "a-ha" moment within the lifetime of an infj. Thanks again
I am so happy you found this insightful and a mirror of sorts! He found out he was INFJ from yours truly. I worked with his family because they have two sensory perceiving kids. He was wanting to know how he could find a way to connect with them since they are so concrete and action-oriented. Do you know your Enneagram number?
@@wendygossett5319 @Wendy Gossett I see, thanks. Ive only done a free online enneagram assessment, and it showed very strongly 4 w5. I can't remember if your interviewee said his enneagram, or can you share? Unless it's confidential, no prob. Just curious, due to the familiar "hum." Im still learning these systems, (discovered Meyer Briggs, on my own, by chance, 10 months ago, age 52) but it's been revelatory and profoundly affirming, so, better late than never! Ill check out your channel for more interviews, thanks!
The real frustration was seeing all of the other carpenters refusing to care about what they were doing in the normal homes. They were selfish because they didn't see each home as going to a family. You obsorbed their ISFP frustration. It's okay. ISFPs are great workers, but lack of individual input on the task kills them. They need to get out of construction. INFJs and ENFPs belong in construction.

ENFJ, you're great, but you do not understand individuals well enough to be a therapist. Not your wheel house.
