As one of the devs, it's really annoying. You get the weirdest bug reports, and then notice it's on forge... for which you never released the mod for cause screw that. To anyone reading this: PLEASE don't report any issues you are having, when using Connector. It's just wasting everyone's time.
For anyone actually trying to use this: Please don't report bugs to the mod devs. There is a reason the mod is not released for Forge, and some *magic* mod that remaps the files to load on Forge won't fix this. The main issue is that Fabric is a really light wrapper around Minecraft, while Forge changes huge parts of the logic for their API, breaking all Mixins that assume normal Minecraft code. It's the same reason Fabric mixins wouldn't work on Paper without changes(assuming you have a Paper fork with a mixin loader).

So we may have another way of running server plugins on fabric. There is "Cardboard" and mantioned in video FeltMC. I hope they will join forces, because there is probably no reason to do the same work twice
From what I understand as a Full-Stack-Developer it is just a module that calls an API and that one direction is less work to implement than the other. By The Way: Java is already a cross-platform language, because it can run on any OS.
I may be 5 months late but I've been sticking with 1.20.1, and I have found 1 mod that does not want to work correctly with Sinytra and the Forgified Fabric API and that was CIT Resewn, just something about the API or the connector was causing CIT Resewn to get an error involving the first line of code for resource packs (it worked just fine in Fabric itself with the normal Fabric API), so I had to find a forge port of CIT Resewn and that worked perfectly, it's kinda weird that it was not working correctly while gameplay mods such as Crossbow Expansion were able to work right off the bat thanks to Sinytra and Forgified Fabric.

I quit doing my own modpacks on both fabric and forge after running into millions of issues that I was not able to solve, so from now on I only play someone else's
I mean, Fabric's new network code is literally the vanilla Minecraft 1.20.5 protocol but ported to other versions and standardized, so I think that the most compatible and grounded loader you can call "universal" is Fabric. Quick question- As you probably know, I use NeoForge 1.20.1, the version thats basically just plain forge under a new name (hence the forge mod compatibility). I installed Connecter + Forgified Fabric API, which works fine on its own, but when I put in a few of the supported mods, like BetterEnd, it kept crashing. I got dynamic surroundings refabricated to work but it was pretty sensitive. I wonder if maybe im on the wrong version, or because I normally use 200+ mods lmfao- I absolutely adore betterend but unfortunately the forge port is stuck on 1.16.5, and I use a lot of 1.20.1+ mods (alexs caves for example), and that when I used forge on that version (Neo is only for 1.20.x) it plays at 20 fps (while neo + embeddium + oculus goes 60+) so im tryna figure out what to do now haha. I adore BetterEnd because most end+ forge mods are pretty mild and boring while BetterEnd is absolutely stunning to explore. I also miss dynamic surroundings due to features like the taiga biome northern lights, howling wolves and owls, all that cool stuff. The only option I have for Neo/Lex forge 1.20.1 is Ambient Sounds 6, which requires CreativeCore, and basically spits out an Error Code 1. Plus, the sounds are a bit more annoying and less immersive. Im hoping either the BetterEnd forge port and dynamic surroundings gets updated for 1.20.1, or maybe as time goes on, this project gets more compatibility updates. For now, I’ll probably clear out some mods I dont need when I get home lol

this is awesome and all, but im still waiting for a mod that lets me play mods from 1.12.2 (and other old versions) on 1.20.1 so I can show those parasites the wrath of ignis (granted for extremely old versions like 1.12.2 it would be a nightmare, so stuff like 1.19+ seems more possible, granted I don't know how to code so I could be dead wrong)

I wish I could make the switch to Fabric 100%, but a majority of mods I enjoy haven't made the switch yet.
2:26 : there’s no variable written X in this QFT lagrangian ?
I suppose there’s like, the implicit stuff relating to the position it is acting on, and there’s the mu and nu for the different spacetime direction indices,
But there’s neither a symbol “x” written there, nor is there an “x” to solve for,
as, this is the Lagrangian density, which is to be integrated over spacetime to get the Lagrangian, in order to get the action.
Dude, i can subtractions and thats it
@@Cygnus_MC ok, just saying there are other things you could have shown that both would seem complicated to non math-people, and would be easy (and well-defined tasks) for many math people, rather than, showing a formula from physics that is (I think?) pretty difficult to handle even for the people who regularly do quantum field theory, and then posing an inapplicable task about it..
@@drdca8263 well it was supposed to be a joke about how difficult math is. Its not meant to be serious

I'm so sorry for typing this out
So we may have another way of running server plugins on fabric. There is "Cardboard" and mantioned in video FeltMC. I hope they will join forces, because there is probably no reason to do the same work twice
There is, cuz they might do it completely different. Tho that beeing said i dont have much confidence in those projects
2 developer did something that a entire mod loader can't do in half in decade
Its not the modloaders fault tbh
From what I understand as a Full-Stack-Developer it is just a module that calls an API and that one direction is less work to implement than the other.
By The Way: Java is already a cross-platform language, because it can run on any OS.
what makes me mad is that every cool mod is forge only and all the good fps boosters are fabric only
as a potato pc user i can only suffer
Not strictly true, u got embeddium and rubidium for forge. Sodium ports

Great!
Only problem is that it's currently locked onto a version of forge where most 1.20.1 forge mods don't work.
very cool, i hope they make it for older versions or common versions like 1.12.1 or 1.18.2
fabric didn't exist in 1.12.1
I can’t wait to use one of my favorite mod editors fyi I’m not referring to world edit I’m referring to the axiom mod
Wish that we'd get a project to provide Forge APIs to Fabric. I'd honestly love to use OpenComputers under QuestCraft. Personally am not a fan of ComputerCraft.
Like i said, its very very difficult to do if not impossible to without hacking around it
@@Cygnus_MC oh no, I understand that completely. I'm wholly impressed by the fact that this is even a thing. API bridges are never easy, hence why WINE will likely never be 100% compatible with Windows applications on Linux. Just a pipe dream lol.
The real solution to my problem would be to get forge running under QuestCraft in lieu of Fabric, but it doesn't seem to like that.
@@ShadowEO that would be the dream
And all of this would be pointless if mojang would simply make a moding api themselves.
Datapacks ring a bell? Not to mention Mojmaps and MCP
@@Cygnus_MC They are slowly getting better, but there is a reason people still use forge and the other alternatives.
@@Cygnus_MCI don’t think datapacks are currently powerful enough to be considered a full modding API. But with some more functionality it could be, and a great one!
@@OctagonalSquare exactly!
@@MegaLokopo well forge and others still use MCP or MojMaps to hook into the game
It's great and all, but honestly I personally can do without Fabric Mods on Forge. Because I have played 400 strong modpack on Fabric and there isn't anything special about fabric mods other than 400 strong modpacks on fabric run the same as 180-200 strong ones do on forge. I mean, the mods are cool and all, but I personally am fine without them, especially after having played fabric modpack with all the popular mods.
Also I hate modded community in a sense that they pick one loader and stick with it and csuse chaos, agression and holywars. Bad tactics. I played mainly on forge, before I checked out prominence. Now I play both fabric and forge, or whatever loader the modpack I am intetested in is on. I quit doing my own modpacks on both fabric and forge after running into millions of issues that I was not able to solve, so from now on I only play someone else's
you forget one point of the issue, playing with friends cause of barelly a way to mod w plugins and a way to play together without vpn or such :(
SpongeForge?
Oh boy cant wait for people using fabric mods to not get support from them
I mean, Fabric's new network code is literally the vanilla Minecraft 1.20.5 protocol but ported to other versions and standardized, so I think that the most compatible and grounded loader you can call "universal" is Fabric.
If you ever tried porting a serverside mod to Paper you'll realize what I mean.
Yeah fabric is doing a great job in that! I just meant that fabric pulled out of Neoforged's 2.0 protocol
@@Cygnus_MC ohh you meant that, I actually forgot it was a thing!
I usually limit myself to the NMS API in most of my work, I actually rarely import FAPI and when I do it's for the commands hook (not even the networking hooks lol) so I just forgot
Great videos by the way, keep it up!
@@Camper_Samu nms is fun to work with ngl! But yeah thanks!

I wonder if maybe im on the wrong version, or because I normally use 200+ mods lmfao-
I absolutely adore betterend but unfortunately the forge port is stuck on 1.16.5, and I use a lot of 1.20.1+ mods (alexs caves for example), and that when I used forge on that version (Neo is only for 1.20.x) it plays at 20 fps (while neo + embeddium + oculus goes 60+) so im tryna figure out what to do now haha.

I just want a simplified *no 3d gui rendering* fabric mod of the aether
My biggest complaint is why is there a bunch of mods named after elements on the periodic table that only replace certain aspects of Optifine and are not compatible with each other.
I wonder if something like this is gonna let me use Distant Horizons with The Aether first, or if The Aether is gonna drop a fabric port. before this mod gets that robust. Either way, I’m excited to have both options.
I tried using Vulkan mod and mine cells in my forge mod pack, and they both will crash the game on loading bootstrap resources I know that all mods don’t work, but I’d like a list or some help also, I know I have connecter installed and forgeified api installed

is there a mod like synitra connector that turns forge into fabric
Like the video said, it would be technically impossible
When it comes to Fabric, I can't decide who to be more mad at:
The morons who made it, who thought that making a second mod loader wasn't an incredibly stupid idea that would just give everyone headaches because Forge is no longer universal
Or the idiots that make mods exclusively for it, especially if they drop Forge in the process (Looking at you, developer of Better End)
Or maybe the one of the creator of forge being greedy which leads the other developers to create fabric in the first place.

I hate it when mc just refusus to load your world when there is a slight issue. But then it doesnt give you the oppertunity to force load or tell you what to do or what the issue is. I want to try more mods but it has to be as few as possible because when version increases it gets much more likly you cant enjoiy the new content the more mods you have due to the above issues. Back then you could just do whatever you want and when stuff doesnt add up, mc will just paste its own stuff ontop of it. Maximum issue gohst blocks or brocked world gen and not a version lock in forever
Thats not really mc's issue. Mods work ontop of MC not the other way around
