- The North-East Zone has a divine beauty in all over India. It is a zone of eight states namely:-
Arunachal Pradesh
Assam
Manipur
Meghalaya
Mizoram
Nagaland
Sikkim and
Tripura
Among all the states, Arunachal Pradesh has the largest area and Assam is the richest. The chief ministers of the respective states are:-
Arunachal Pradesh :- Pema Khandu
Assam :- Sarbananda Sonowal
Manipur :- N. Biren Singh
Meghalaya :- Conrad Sangma
Mizoram :- Zoramthanga
Nagaland :- Neiphiu Rio
Sikkim :- Prem Singh Tamang
Tripura :- Biplab Kumar Deb
The state of Sikkim has recently become a part of North-East India. In the earlier 1970's, the whole states of North-East except Sikkim were all united into one province known as Assam and Naga Hills (Nagaland), Lushai Hills (Mizoram), Khasi Jaintia Hills (Meghalaya) and NEFA (North-East Frontier Agency) (Arunachal Pradesh) etc. were some districts of Assam and Shillong (recently capital of Meghalaya) was the capital of the province at that time. But in the course of time, the whole province divided into different states such as Naga Hills divided in 1963 and became Nagaland and Khasi Jaintia Hills divided in 1972 and became the state of Meghalaya. Then the capital of Shillong was shifted Dispur as the New Capital of Assam. Now the Richest States in North-East India are :-
1. Assam
2. Tripura
3. Meghalaya
4. Arunachal Pradesh
5. Manipur
6. Sikkim
7. Nagaland
8. Sikkim

I'm From Indonesia... in 2017 i Visited Meghalaya especially Shillong, Shallang, Rongjeng, Rongram and Tura. also visited Garo Hills north of Tura City and Balpakram National Park south of Shallang, near the border of India-Bangladesh. Those Places are beautifuI, i felt like i was in heaven of the world when i visited them. I tried my poor Hindi to the locals but their language didn't sounds like Hindi that I had Learnt before. Some of The locals also looked like Mix India-Chinese and what makes them different from other Indians commonly is their religion... I was surprised when I was there as long as 2 weeks and I didn't see any Hindu or Buddhis temple, I only saw churches everywhere throughout the journey, I asked our tour guide "When did these Hindus/Buddhists convert to Christians? " He just laughed.

I'm from Manipur Churachandpur, second largest city/town. It's often misunderstood only as a district. But that's not the case, it's pretty much a city. You can come and visit to see for yourself.

Maybe they were to write Meghalaya.... because it became a full fledged state on January 21,1972.

Actually Sikkim is one of the richest we are least populated yet we beat Nagaland and mizoram in GDP and our lands are also not sufficient still our state is best in organic vegetables and orchids and Gangtok is one of the cleanest cities in India
