I was really happy to see this ”at the moment” struggles you had with your revision. Not because I was glad that you struggled but that you showed that. Because it makes me feel not so alone with my writer struggles. I hope you get what I mean. Happy revision!

So um... I have that Coronavirus and maybe it's because I'm 22 but it's really not that bad so far. So please everyone, try not to worry about Covid-19 too much. Honestly, so far it's been like the flu, not fun but totally manageable 😊
I am still drafting my book (got 1k in 2 hours today which for me is pretty darn good).
Keep writing and don't worry. Everything will be ok. News Media is turning this into way more than it needs to be. Breathe. Loveya all! 😊

Thank you for all your hard work in putting the Author Mentor Match together. It really gave me a kick in the butt to get that first revision pass done and put the package together.

All the thrillers you've been reading are tempting me to finally give thrillers another try.

I was just wondering what you've been up to reading. I'm glad February and the beginning of March were better months for reading.
My husband is home for at least 2 weeks because of Corona Virus. They ushered them out of school so quick on Thursday that he didn't have time to grab his jacket with his apartment keys in it. It's going to be nice having him home for the next couple of weeks because it gives me time to do some much-needed cleaning.
I'm not worried about coronavirus. I thought I would be, but I think because I don't leave my house much unless the boys or I have appointments that I've very low risk and I live in NYC okay I live in the Bronx but it's a borough.
Well, enjoy your couple weeks of working from home. I know a lot of people who are excited about it.
If you are worried, a lab in Texas and another lab in Canada have isolated the virus and are ready to test vaccines on animals so we are that much closer to a vaccine and anti-virals for this in about a year. I know it's still a lot of months but this is a major breakthrough.

You don't have to apologize to us for not filming things! We won't know the difference if you just launch into updates -- jump cuts to "after the fact" might just be your style. :)
I'm glad you're finally jelling with your work! I'm caught up around the halfway point of my current draft, so I feel you. Best of luck with your revisions!

That was not too dark, and your recommendation for keeping your “anxiety brain” clear was a good one. Here’s too dark for you: for months now, my teenager has been in rehearsals for a Monty Python show. Some of the performances have been cancelled, but not all, so audiences had the dubious pleasure of watching the “bring out your dead” skit in the middle of a pandemic.

Okay this video was great but so difficult to hear you talk about the books you have arcs of and not being able to go read them myself. Cruel! (But the hardest one to hear about and not be able to read is The Ivies, of course)

I loved The Good Girl's Guide to Murder, I picked it up for a holiday read expecting to leave the book behind when we flew back but I can't part with it. The second one's out soon, end of April I think- Good Girl, Bad Blood x

I have a question. After you published your book did u have to do interviews to promote your books?

    • @AlexaDonne
      @AlexaDonne  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Sometimes. Usually they're over the Internet though, so not in person interviews, and rarely anything on camera.

How was Emma? I'm on the fence about watching it.

    • @AlexaDonne

I really enjoyed it! It's super different from the other adaptations so definitely go in with an open mind. It really digs into Emma as a teenage girl, for better or for worse. I both loved that and bits of it also didn't sit with me quite right in the beginning. (At first Anya Taylor Joy plays it like a Mean Girl, but her arc over the whole film is super super satisfying and very well done.) But the casting is superb, and the comedy/tone really works. The costumes were also sumptuous. I think my favorite bit was just... the emotional connection I felt to Emma as a lonely, spoiled teen girl? It really worked. (I know Emma is 20, but it plays off the idea that b/c she is isolated by her weird family that she has emotional arrested development, which she does, and it works as part of her arc for her to REALLY grow.)

@@AlexaDonne Thanks for the review! I love Clueless, so I've always been super obsessed with Emma! Loved the Gwyneth Paltrow version because they capture the humour in Emma so well, which has been difficult for other adaptations to do. Will deffo watch it now :-)
