I viewed your 12-27 review regarding items people needed to overcome to live in Indianapolis a couple hours ago and was pretty critical of the content. So, I viewed this one with a much greater sense of appreciation. I have lived in Carmel, Meridian Kessler, Zionsville and on Mass Ave., finding all lovely, based on lifestyles and time of life. The common element (like all cities) are the expanded definitions of "downtown" and the adjacency of all neighborhoods to each other. There are no real lines of demarcation, unless provided by rivers or other natural barriers. Like the old Kevin Bacon trope, Williams Creek is just a few steps from Herron Morton.

Hi Jason, I found your channel very interesting. My partner and I live in Los Angeles. I have been doing a lot of research for investing rental properties in Indianapolis. Your videos are very helpful. By any chance you have a video talking about up and coming neighborhoods? For some reason, I am quite drawn to the east of downtown. I like historic homes and properties in that area are more affordable. Planning our first trip to Indy in early December. Who knows? We might consider moving to Indianapolis. Appreciate your videos.

Hey Samuel! There are some up and coming neighborhoods in Indy. They certainly have varying degrees of how far they've come. Let me know if you're interested in getting into some details. Happy to discuss

Maybe if Indianapolis had a decent Mass Transit system people could take the bus or light rail to events. Wait there is no Light Rail there.

Are there any good schools IN Indy? It seems like only the suburbs but their are beautiful neighborhoods and houses within the city. Just wondering why all the public schools are rated so low?

I am seeing this video really late, but parking in downtown is easy. Just $3 for 2 hours (as of July 1, 2022), if you use one of the Circle Center Mall parking lots, (as long as there are no special events like Colts football games or big Conventions like GenCon). ( Sun, Moon, Stars lots). Parking at the Library on St.Clair street is $3 for 4 hours. Parking on the street is free on Federal holidays and Sundays.

Not only is downtown Indy actually very small its probably the only major city with such a small downtown. I know Louisville and Cinci (both closer to 500,000) have bigger downtowns than Indy (with 850,000 people). One could easily walk downtown in an afternoon.

I'm not impressed, they got a dome and pro football and a pro basketball team. Indiana is flat and boring and cold as hell. I'm originally from Louisville, I was stationed at Grissom AFB for three years. I've lived in Texas on an off for the past 40 years. Louisville is smaller, but is more historical. Indy Is over
2 million, Louisville is 1 and quater million but way more charming with all the historical architecture, whiskey roll , the largest collection of victorian houses in the USA, the city is a large setting of victorian houses and iron front buildings in downtown setting next to modern highrise buildings. Louisville is like a small New York. My degree is in
Fine Arts with 2 and a half years in Architect school at UTSA, University of Texas at San Antonio.
