I was on the 3rd row for the 1st show of the Psycho Derelict tour (Great Woods in Massachusetts). The multi-media electronics for Derelict wouldn't work so Pete proceeded to play four hours of Who and solo music. Hands down the greatest rock-n-roll show I have ever seen.

Holy crap, gotta be the best show ever! He seems to struggle with some of the singing in this vid. First concert I went to was Journey with the Tubes and Santana opening. Santana had some technical issues, wasn't the 1st time with them. Saw Santana again and they had the same issues the end time. Journey was off the chart good. But I've never seen the Who live and I wish I would've done that.

This album was one of my college anthems. Pete was a good part of the soundtrack of my life back in the early 80's. Now I listen to this and I become nostalgic for life past even though I am content with where I am now. Music has that amazing affect on the soul, to send us spiraling back in time, but then suddenly crashing us right back down into the moment. Magic.

I was just thirty-four years old and I was still wandering in a haze
I was wondering why everyone I met seemed like they were
    Lost in a maze
I don't know why I thought I should have some kind of
    Divine right to the blues
It's sympathy not tears people need when they're the
    Front page sad news.
The incense burned away and the stench began to rise
And lovers now estranged avoided catching each others' eyes
And girls who lost their children cursed the men who fit the coil
And men not fit for marriage took their refuge in the oil
No one respects the flame quite like the fool who's badly burned
From all this you'd imagine that there must be something learned
Slit skirts, Jeanie never wears those slit skirts
I don't ever wear no ripped shirts
Can't pretend that growing older never hurts.
Knee pants, Jeanie never wears no knee pants
Have to be so drunk to try a new dance
So afraid of every new romance
    Slit skirts, slit skirt
Jeanie isn't wearing those slit skirts, slit skirt
She wouldn't dare in those slit skirts, slit skirt
Wouldn't be seen dead in no slit skirt
    Slit skirts, slit skirt
Jeanie isn't wearing those slit skirts, slit skirt
She wouldn't dare in those slit skirts, slit skirt
Wouldn't be seen dead in no slit skirt
Romance, romance, why aren't we thinking up romance?
Why can't we drink it up true heart romance
Just need a brief new romance
Let me tell you some more about myself, you know I'm sitting at home just now.
The big events of the day are passed and the late TV shows have come around.
I'm number one in the home team, but I still feel unfulfilled.
A silent voice in her broken heart complaining that I'm unskilled.
And I know that when she thinks of me, she thinks of me as him,
But, unlike me, she don't work off her frustration in the gym.
Recriminations fester and the past can never change
A woman's expectations run from both ends of the range
Once she walked with untamed lovers' face between her legs
Now he's cooled and stifled and it's she who has to beg
Slit skirts, Jeanie never wears those slit skirts
And I don't ever wear no ripped shirts
Can't pretend that growing older never hurts
Knee pants, Jeanie never wears no knee pants
We have to be so drunk to try a new dance
So afraid of every new romance
    Slit skirts, slit skirt
Jeanie isn't wearing those slit skirts, slit skirt
She wouldn't dare in those slit skirts, slit skirt

Just heard this on the radio, and it was worth looking up...
    Mr.Shneebly on lead guitar.
and the two back-up singers are hot mamas for sure...
    Pete never disappoints.

During this time when The Floyd was deciding on what to do after Waters departed, Gilmour was rent-a-guitar for awhile - he also played on a Supertramp album and with McCartney - he did eventually reunite the Floyd

@jackskillet, I couldn't agree more. That's the amazing thing about music. Isn't it? We're taken to a lonely place that we overcame, but still drawn to, if only by pride to have triumphed over.

Pete goes out and gets the best session players and singers in the business. Throw in Gilmour and Phillips, and this happens. Pure fucking magic!

Very cool to see the "Deep End" band do this. Initially, I was surprised because I have the video and the full length concert and hadn't seen or heard this on either. Too bad this band didn't do more.

I hope everyone here is a Pete & Dave fan and I hope you all hear the version of "Save it for Later" by another Dave from The English Beat. Pete talks about guitar tuning and the story of those two calling Dave Wakeling to find out the guitar tuning for that song. Anyone who is a fan of this should look it up. It is also the inspiration of "Letterman" by Pearl Jam who almost always end the song with the lyrics "Don't let me Down......." A great under rated song. I loveThe Who and all that follows!

You know you're big time as a rock star when you can get David Gilmour for your backing band.
