What I love about the lyrics is that they make King Hark to be a badass, which probably was the intention the CD-I team had when writing his script for the cutscene
0:34 somehow I can hear the desperation in his voice. He's making one last attempt to call out to the young warrior who he cares for like a son, hoping he can reclaim his boy without bringing him harm. Alas Link is under Morshu's control like a puppet on a string.
I think I know the story that glitchy guy from Deltarune who like kromer has learned how to place a virus in the form of a chest in their world morshu takes the chest and is infected which is the first two songs. Then in the 3rd song hark the king the king is traveling to morshus cabin to save link but we see there world tearing apart and aspects of Deltarune are leaking into their game. So Kromer guys virus has taken over them.
This is by far the most advanced form of fan fiction I've ever witnessed and I'm all for it! Blown away at the effort and story telling given the constrictions.
I like how the killer blow is due to Splinkshu's arm cannon falling into the stash of bombs as it fires. The animation is really great, I also like how when he says "Lamp oil, rope, bombs, it's yours my friend" the correct items are launched at the King. And that line is so full of malice in this context! Creating something this genuinely heartfelt is no easy task. I would love to see how it continues in the future if you're ever up to it, since Ganon's also at play here, but this is a pretty grand finale.
he added fucking INTONATION. when splinkshu says "come back when you're richer, then" and "lamp oil, rope, bombs, it's yours my friend", you can HEAR the sarcasm and malice dripping from his voice
he added fucking INTONATION. when splinkshu says "come back when you're richer, then" and "lamp oil, rope, bombs, it's yours my friend", you can HEAR the sarcasm and malice dripping from his voice
I know this is 100% unintentional, but it tickles the history buff in me that historically, nobility and rich business owners were frequently at odds and fighting for power, so Spamton and the King make for strangely appropriate enemies.
it just makes the artists who do it much more respectable, anyone can punch words into a machine, but it takes someone with soul to pitch, splice, and manipulate it manually and have it sound GOOD too
@@diamond_tango It’s already being done! An example is That Ray Cartoon Pony blending sentence mixing and ai voice to make things feel a bit more seamless
I'm not ashamed to admit I couldn't hold back a few tears. "Nothing's free. Don't forget the fee, it's not cheap." I could easily see Jeff using these lines more than a few times over the last year to motivate himself to finish this beautiful labor of love. This is now my favorite YTP of all time. Simply splendid, this should be the benchmark all true YTPers strive for.
and he got a character with two voicelines to, not only sing while sounding natural, but fucking DUET with link while sounding more natural than most ai voices
Having Spamton-Morshu's Rupee be replaced with the Birdley ice crystal was a very nice touch that's very difficult to notice. You put an astounding amount of work into this.
When all hope was lost, the king came with a cost. Can't get richer, it's time for dinner. If the king goes down, he'll fall with the clown. Only 1 obstacle is in the way, can Link wake up and save the day. RIP king, your sacrifice won't be in vain
just want want to say that the delivery of "spare me your boring pitch, friend" is amazing. The entire thing is peak, but there's some lines in specific that genuinely sounds like they were *said that exact way*, and not mixed, and this one is the best one. this video is next level sentence mixing
The king must be thinking "Who is this random guy who possessed my boy?"..like he definitely has never met Morshu before. Link barely even knows him that well.
Jesus that ending. I've been keeping tabs on the YTP community since near the beginning and with the lowkey character development last video ("Dinner can wait"), it almost feels like I've lost an old friend lol.
I'm loving this track as a whole, but what I'm *really* loving is the Link/Morshu Entity's lyrics, and how they're heavily themed around shopkeeping. Sort of like how Spamton is a glitchy shopkeeper, the Entity gives off this feeling of being somehow *wrong,* beyond just being a hostile entity that's taken over Link and Morshu. The heavy use of shopkeeping language, how the Link/Morshu Entity only attacks when King Harkinian makes it *absolutely* clear that he won't trade the Triforce for Link, the obsession with "trading," it all combines to give me the impression that the Entity is some sort of reality-infecting shop-AI, nearly every thought it has being couched in terms of it's primary purpose (shopkeeping/trading) while still trying to accomplish a goal that it was never made to accomplish, let alone attempt. Great stuff. I really like this. (A shame that Harkinian will never get his dinner now, though...)
I've got to say, I've heard people criticize this game by saying "why did they HAD to make Link talk??" and i am so glad that Link talking could make this video possible and so soooo good. Thank you ! I just love the corrupting effect that Link exude in this.
God, I remember when these kinds of videos were looked down upon by the community, I am glad they prevailed and thrived to reach quality of this degree, this is great
1:57 The King's death is truly a sadder loss than anything in any piece of writing Toby's ever made Totally get why its been about a year since Harkinia Palace now, the sentence mixing is impressive as usual, but execution wise, you've made a really solid lyrical cover of Attack of the Killer Queen! The animation is also a really cool touch, I just hope you don't burn yourself out
This Story is truly Heartbreaking. The Fact That He Waited For Dinner, Then Bet That Dinner On The Fight And Lost Is One Of The Saddest Things I Have Ever Heard
The sentence-mixing and visuals are one thing, but I'm *aghast* so few are really focusing on how incredibly witty the rhymes and lyrical storytelling are. Really - it's hard enough to make a song fit a pre-existing melody; harder still to make it rhyme appropriately with as few leaps of lyrical logic as possible; but just *how* hard must it have been to then *portray accurately* the stoic determination of a king that knows his peaceful days are over, resigned to his duty and knowing full well he may not be home for dinner again? I know this is all funny hahas and silly youtube poops, but the writing is *phenomenal.* All the more I'm reminded why a certain someone said of ytp's that "It's not a genre - it's an *artform.*" Wonderful job. This won't be leaving my head for months to come.
By far the most impressive part of this is just how good it is lyrically. There are such good back-and-forth line trades in this that I want like a high-level metal cover of this or something. Shit like "King, you can't negotiate-" into "Then I'll TAKE." is why I get excited every time I see you upload, dude.
SILENCE KNAVE I WILL NOT CAVE I'M THE KING TRUE PEACE IS ALL I CRAVE The opening stanza shows the nobility of his character (besides the whole delving into an extra-dimensional shopping hellscape to save his companion / paramount knight). He gives the vibe that he craves true peace not because of the person he happens to be, but because he believes that's what those who bear the lofty title of "king" should strive for. A king who wants nothing but true peace for his people is one who truly deserves to rule. I'VE PAID ENOUGH TO BE SHAMED FOR PEACE I WON'T BARGAIN ... THIS TRANSACTION I SHALL END Is he referring to having lost Link, his most favored champion, to the wiles of this demonic shopkeep who operated right under his nose all this time? Or perhaps is the shame referring to a prior dealing he had with Morshu (or whatever has possessed him) that he managed to extricate himself from? Either way, he has seen now the price of showing mercy to this corrupting element and, as if lamenting that past transaction, refuses to bargain again with the demon to restore peace to his land and relinquish Link. He chooses to save his land and his lad by his own blade, and through sheer force of will, he triumphs over darkness at the cost of his own life, a cost that he knew he had to pay upon entering that portal. With his body crushed, his heart and his belief in Link, his honored champion, is so great that he stays death's hand for a few moments longer to drag his broken body towards Link to cleanse him of the corruption with the triforce of courage. So dies King Harkinian, first of his name, last of his line! May his deeds never be forgotten!
Day 4: 2:21 I can't get over how funny is Gwoman just smashing the window, , taking link, doesn't even flinch at seeing the king dead, and leaves with link, truly a Chad.
Honestly im breathless. Youve put so much personality into these characters the ending felt like a loss of a friend. Take notes Rhoam, this is what a REAL king of Hyrule looks like
at 1:21, both morshu and link start "dancing", but the way link moves gives the impression that the kings words actually DID wake him a bit, causing him to try to fight out of morshu's control this is absolutely amazing! theres a compelling story, wonderful sentence mixing, and the animation?! its criminal how few subscribers you have!
Worth the wait, this was great. Hits a perfect sweet spot between humorous zelda cdi ytp and an unironically good musical adventure. Really loving this series.
1:48 I absolutely LOVE how much this line oozes sarcasm and mockery. Never thought I'd be gushing about the inflection of a character's voice in a freakin' YTP, but I guess I should've expected that level of quality from you. Fantastic job!
Current theory of mine is that Spamton was transferred to the CDi disc of the Faces of Evil, corrupting the entire world until the only source of power (The Triforce reseambled) is his--. It's amazing that you can do so much with so little lines, and with this I can picture a whole ass fighting animation with those visuals, incredible job!
Okay, I went back and rewatched the previous two videos because the fact you’ve made a story out of this is just simply amazing. Your visuals are on point, and I am very excited for the next part! This was definitely worth the year wait between videos! Edit: It just dawned on me that you’ve been working on CDi Zelda videos for 15 years now, which means I have been watching your videos for fifteen years. Wild.
Did not expect to get absolutely blasted by the quality of this tuning and lyric crafting holy shit. Something about the imagery of Morshu and Link with Spamton color palettes looming over the king is so powerful and I don't know how I feel about it
I couldn't even imagine making something like this, I get impatient after splicing together a single sentence lol, incredible job, can't wait for more (ok, well, figure of speech, take your time as you need it, lol).
Key is being OK with slow progress. Keep the goals small, a sentence a night or even every couple days. Refine your process as you go to make it faster, set shortcuts that help you along etc.

It wasn't enough to make a banger. You've also - Made a compelling story. It's a duet! The ending is satisfying and leaves me to speculate what will happen next. - Stitched together sentences that I can understand WITHOUT reading lyrics. That's damn impressive. Mixing quality through the roof with this one. - I can very easily discern Link and Morshu's voice from each other. That's incredible. the King's full voice makes his side as full as Linkshu's duet. - Essentially a lyrical cover for the piece. those lyrics are competent and catchy, even! - You ANIMATED IT?!?!!? the beginning sequence and ending cutscene was very pleasing to see. - The subtle details! Both the morshu-ified background on Linkshu's side and the Harken-ified castle on his side. The dumpster's filled with bombs! You've made a masterpiece. This was 100% worth it to wait for. The others were quality as well, but I cannot give this enough praise. Edit: Noticed Link building in Linkshu's background as I was listening again. Beautiful.
This is the type of YTPMV you watch for the audio, the the visuals, and then the visuals AGAIN because so much is going on! This is beyond incredible so much custom sprite work as well!
I noticed that instead of a *or* sound morshu makes a heavy *Bor* sound which surprisingly just makes the ‘entity’ more… odd to be specific it’s easiest to hear with the word “your” so what probably spawned from a limitation actually makes it sound cooler
2:22 It's nice to see Gwonam saving Link after what happened. I feel bad for Link and the king. At least Gwonam had enough Squada-love to pull this off.

only just found this and... holy shit, smirking link with this coat of paint looks like a proper villain? this is honestly incredible, i would never in a million years expect link and morshu to sound this wonderful in a duet AND the verses are incredible
holy moly this one's really good, i can see what took so long really creative and made visuals and the sentence mixing's godly; didn't know link was *that* good at singing
I clicked on this thumbnail by accident. I watched this, and I quickly realized it wasn’t an accident at all. It was a wonderful stroke of fate. Amazing work!
I have waited long for this thrilling instalment, within this YTP epic and already I can tell that it was time well spent. This is one of the best YTPMVs around; it's slick as oil in both sound and visuals, but without a hint of crudeness to it's name. It goes beyond a fun take on a fantastic song, and is truely its own thing with a mirror polish. Keep up the immaculate work, and have a lovely day.

His name is Spamton.

It's Spamshu.
Atleast that's what the creator Cass him.

He's going for a jojo feeling here, that was just a small-fry enemy, we ain't even got to the major threats yet.
he added fucking INTONATION.
when splinkshu says "come back when you're richer, then" and "lamp oil, rope, bombs, it's yours my friend", you can HEAR the sarcasm and malice dripping from his voice

I know this is 100% unintentional, but it tickles the history buff in me that historically, nobility and rich business owners were frequently at odds and fighting for power, so Spamton and the King make for strangely appropriate enemies.
I'm amazed that the word play and puns didn't get in the way of authoring genuinely excellent story-driven lyrics.
Morshu possessing Link and teaming up against the King is a great concept with a great follow-through.
And that ending, damn...
I cannot express how much I love the line "give up haggling with fate, friend"
Man AI voices are going to turn sentence mixing into more of a lost art than it already is.
it just makes the artists who do it much more respectable, anyone can punch words into a machine, but it takes someone with soul to pitch, splice, and manipulate it manually and have it sound GOOD too
Imagine what will happen when Ai and sentence splicing will be used in tandem!
@@diamond_tango It’s already being done! An example is That Ray Cartoon Pony blending sentence mixing and ai voice to make things feel a bit more seamless
@@diamond_tango I remember it being done in some tf2 sfms, and damn did it sound good

Same. Best YTP I ever watched.
This ain't even a YTP at this point, IT'S A MASTERPIECE!

So many of these lyrics are inspirational It's actually insane, even better there's emotional stakes there too so they do hit all the more
and he got a character with two voicelines to, not only sing while sounding natural, but fucking DUET with link while sounding more natural than most ai voices
How the hell do you make this absolute joke of a character seem like such a genuinely noble and badass monarch
Having Spamton-Morshu's Rupee be replaced with the Birdley ice crystal was a very nice touch that's very difficult to notice. You put an astounding amount of work into this.
This is absolutely incredible, I especially love Link and Morshu dancing to the music at 1:20.

Can't get richer, it's time for dinner.
If the king goes down, he'll fall with the clown.
Only 1 obstacle is in the way, can Link wake up and save the day.
RIP king, your sacrifice won't be in vain
i cannot get over how much i love the dance link and morshu do around 1:30, literal perfection
it looks like morshu is puppeting link to punch himself in the face
just want want to say that the delivery of "spare me your boring pitch, friend" is amazing.
Link barely even knows him that well.
i don't care if AI can replicate their voice perfectly.
this is a kind of art that shall never be lost.
God, I remember when these kinds of videos were looked down upon by the community, I am glad they prevailed and thrived to reach quality of this degree, this is great
1:57 The King's death is truly a sadder loss than anything in any piece of writing Toby's ever made
Totally get why its been about a year since Harkinia Palace now, the sentence mixing is impressive as usual, but execution wise, you've made a really solid lyrical cover of Attack of the Killer Queen!

I know this is all funny hahas and silly youtube poops, but the writing is *phenomenal.* All the more I'm reminded why a certain someone said of ytp's that "It's not a genre - it's an *artform.*"
Wonderful job. This won't be leaving my head for months to come.
1:18 "i'll bet dinner on this fight" is this a powerful line or WHAT?!
Morshu is such a great singer wherever he appears.
Legit can't listen to the original without hearing this in my head. Thank you for this curse, can't wait for the next part!
you somehow made hairkinian the most noble and wise king hyrule has ever had
Always has been
I dont know much about link games
I thought he was a joke and so stupid
...but i was so wrong
He even put dinner on the fight
Tbh, he did try to take on Ganon himself before sending Link
By far the most impressive part of this is just how good it is lyrically. There are such good back-and-forth line trades in this that I want like a high-level metal cover of this or something.
Shit like "King, you can't negotiate-" into "Then I'll TAKE." is why I get excited every time I see you upload, dude.
SILENCE KNAVE
I WILL NOT CAVE
I'M THE KING
TRUE PEACE IS ALL I CRAVE
The opening stanza shows the nobility of his character (besides the whole delving into an extra-dimensional shopping hellscape to save his companion / paramount knight). He gives the vibe that he craves true peace not because of the person he happens to be, but because he believes that's what those who bear the lofty title of "king" should strive for. A king who wants nothing but true peace for his people is one who truly deserves to rule.
I'VE PAID ENOUGH TO BE SHAMED
FOR PEACE I WON'T BARGAIN
...
THIS TRANSACTION I SHALL END
Is he referring to having lost Link, his most favored champion, to the wiles of this demonic shopkeep who operated right under his nose all this time?
Last of his line? You forget the princess!
Day 4: 2:21 I can't get over how funny is Gwoman just smashing the window, , taking link, doesn't even flinch at seeing the king dead, and leaves with link, truly a Chad.
After spending the past year hearing of the kings grand plan to save link. Seeing him fall at the end hits alot harder than i ever thought it would.
In the end, he succeeded.. but at the cost of his own life. A truly inspiring king, saving those he can until his last breath
Honestly im breathless. Youve put so much personality into these characters the ending felt like a loss of a friend.
Take notes Rhoam, this is what a REAL king of Hyrule looks like
I cant believe how this just started as a small joke and has now turned into a fully serious story, this is absolutely awesome!
at 1:21, both morshu and link start "dancing", but the way link moves gives the impression that the kings words actually DID wake him a bit, causing him to try to fight out of morshu's control
this is absolutely amazing! theres a compelling story, wonderful sentence mixing, and the animation?! its criminal how few subscribers you have!
So I wasn’t the only one who noticed!
I kind of noticed that

Worth the wait, this was great. Hits a perfect sweet spot between humorous zelda cdi ytp and an unironically good musical adventure. Really loving this series.
1:48 I absolutely LOVE how much this line oozes sarcasm and mockery. Never thought I'd be gushing about the inflection of a character's voice in a freakin' YTP, but I guess I should've expected that level of quality from you. Fantastic job!
Excellent sentence mixing as usual!
Also RIP Killer King.
The small details make this so much better, like at 1:47 when they say "lamp oil, rope, bombs" while shooting those out their mouth in that order
And of course he chose Morshu as his vessel
He IS a shopkeeper.
It’s not just Spamton, the Queen also appears to have “infected” Faces of Evil. Who else could be in it too? Perhaps chaos King Ganon?
@@camoking3609the cyber world is a thing very similar to a metaphor for the internet

Something about the imagery of Morshu and Link with Spamton color palettes looming over the king is so powerful and I don't know how I feel about it
You should work for Broadway. The musical genius of these is astonishing, the lyrics and the story. It's literally a musical. Well done.
No AI will ever come close to the sheer skill of sentence mixing with this few lines
“Give up haggling with fate, friend” goes hard
I couldn't even imagine making something like this, I get impatient after splicing together a single sentence lol, incredible job, can't wait for more (ok, well, figure of speech, take your time as you need it, lol).
Key is being OK with slow progress. Keep the goals small, a sentence a night or even every couple days. Refine your process as you go to make it faster, set shortcuts that help you along etc.
@@JeffLindblom oh, no no, I just do that kind of content *very* occasionally, I'm primarily a musician, (well, *becoming one*) but thanks for the very good advice none the less, and it holds up well for musicians too (with some changed phrasing, ofc).
The effort you're putting into building the lore, the level of detail in the visuals, alongside the captivating lyricism, is honestly mind-blowing.
“Give up haggling with fate” is a strong fucking line.
It wasn't enough to make a banger. You've also
- Made a compelling story.
Beautiful.
The potion in the middle has a face on it.
When Linkshu says "Lamp oil, rope, bombs", he attacks the King with lamp oil, rope and a bomb.
“Give up haggling with fate friend” man this line
This is the type of YTPMV you watch for the audio, the the visuals, and then the visuals AGAIN because so much is going on! This is beyond incredible so much custom sprite work as well!
Where has this been for the past six months of my life?
The lyrics actually go so hard. I would unironically watch a whole movie of this.
LITERALLY, best media I've consumed maybe ever
I noticed that instead of a *or* sound morshu makes a heavy *Bor* sound which surprisingly just makes the ‘entity’ more… odd to be specific it’s easiest to hear with the word “your” so what probably spawned from a limitation actually makes it sound cooler
really sad that king harkian died, this series is so good.
also "no negotiating" "then ill take" is such a raw line
1:21 king: "I'LL PROTECT THIS LAND AND YOU LINK!"
Link and morshu: "rave party time"
2:22
It's nice to see Gwonam saving Link after what happened. I feel bad for Link and the king.
At least Gwonam had enough Squada-love to pull this off.
