      Hi,
      Being you assembled them, if the Rear Sight Block is leaning to one side when the rifle was assembled, do the front ears of the optic rail need to be installed into the side grooves at that same angle/lean of the sight block?
      If so, does it still lock onto the rear tab properly?
      Or would you put it on level to where the sight angle will not be aligned with the rail, for it to lock onto the rear tab more level?
      The RSB (Rear Sight Block) angle "appears" to dictate the angle of the optic rail, and upper handguard rail also and being an AK basically, I doubt having a slightly crooked RSB is unheard of for these, but just wondering (for a friend) what you guys did when Installing the rails if that block was leaning when putting these on.
      Hope to hear back!

    Im a polish soldier. Lately we had old used ak's so we were glad and actually looking forward toget beryl as soon as possible. Unfortunately now when we are fully equipped with those opinion is solid. This rifle is a piece of crap. It has many disadvantages but mostly the lenght of it is the main issue. Also it has many sharp elements that hurts your back when you carry it.
    It is very easy to make it dirty in the field. And much more difficult to disamble into pieces. Wish to have ak back

Before that it was part of the bigger company named: Zakłady Metalowe "Łucznik" (Metal Works "Archer") which was famous in Polad for production not only weapons but also home sewing machines.

    It's "AK-PLATFORM-BASED" assault rifle, but - honestly - it has very few things still in common with the "true" (..."original"...) Ak. This is one of the reasons people were discouraged by its price! I mean! - A 1000 BUCKS FOR AN "Ak"?? That "platform" cannot simply be improved anymore. The only solution was to produce something NEW - so we came forward with the MSBS.
    ...and something tells that OVERTIME the new MSBS WILL become a TRUE MARKET-HIT! Greeting fellas! Have a nice day! :)

    An steel rifle like ak is expensive at 900$ but a steel pistol like Sig p226 at 1200$ or 1911 at 1500-3000 $ are not ? I mean why the heck are pistols so expensive its less steel, less reliable, weaker etc pistols should be like 150-300$ ...

    • @TheSFRGaming
      @TheSFRGaming 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      From a consumer standpoint, most gun owners don't like that AK's aren't $250-300 anymore. Inflation and economic trends makes the $250-300 cheap AK's back then worth approx. $500 nowadays, and with WASR's / Yugo's costing around $600, the prices haven't risen all that much. People just think they have because it physically looks like it costs more. In my opinion, I tell people to suck it up.
      You usually find the same people complaining about a $800-1000 AK are also the same people that will build a $3000 AR on top of having other AR's in the $1000-2000 range.
      As far as pistols go, they cost a lot more on a manufacturing level because of the usage of very small, highly detailed parts made in CNC/ Milling machines. If you look at most expensive pistols on the market, they are VERY complicated. Rifles in general are pretty simple and use much larger, less detailed parts. If you look at the barebones surplus Russian pistols which used fewer parts compared to something like a Sig, you'll see why they are $250-300 and not $1200.

    • @TheSFRGaming

    Considering that the Valmet M76 type rifle (stamped receiver version of the Valmet M62) is no longer in production (Sako bought Valmet's firearms division completely in 1992 after gaining controlling stake-holding in 1987, with Sako now being a division of Beretta), the Radom Beryl is the only really huge high quality stamped AKM based rifle in production outside of the custom sporter conversions (Veprs and Saigas for example).
    But there's good new/bad news on that. Bad news: as Tim mentioned in video, IO isn't importing the Archer/Beryl rifles anymore, and haven't for at least a year or two. Good news: FB Radom with the support of Ted Marshall as advisor has been trying to set up a factory in Texas to make Beryls in 5.56 NATO and 7.62 Russian for the US market.
    Mixed news: Longer term, Radom USA hopes to make all the rifles and all their parts in the US to get around 922r/the '89 Bush Assault Weapons Ban. Shorter term, though, Radom has had tons of issues with getting fully licensed to sell such rifles with the ATF being a pain in their rears with 922r (early rifles were intended to use Polish made parts to launch sales/production). Ironically, IWI never had those issues that I know of (aside from the third pinhole on the Galil Ace pistols), and the US Ace rifles have a mix of US and Israeli parts made by IWI.
    Also, I don't know of any news of Radom's US division starting up soon, either.

      It never happened, but in 2021 AOA and Atlantic finally were able to start getting them and they've been hugely popular ever since...
      They have the Type C furniture/accessories also, but a lot of the parts go out of stock quickly.
      Apparently FB has moved onto producing the "GROT" for mil use, so now the Beryl is strictly a commercial offering, which many feel will be phased out of production altogether before long.
      They have 3 versions...

    I didn't see this in the first page of comments, so forgive me if it has already been posted.
    All Archers seem to be 2012 or 2013 manufacture, with I.O. bringing them in through at least 2014.
    They were still selling them as recently as this year, but from what they've said those were older imports that they just now got round to modifying for high-cap & 922(r).
    Ones with a serial over say 500 (give or take) came with the Gen 4 rail system and collapsible stock. The final 150 or so also had the fire selector on the left side, but it was purely cosmetic.
    In all, 700 Archers were imported by I.O.
    Radom-USA has hit a couple major snags, and they are not sure when (if?) they will finally be up and running. So for now, the Archer is the only semi Beryl in the USA.On a personal note, the Archer is one amazing gun and a lot of fun! I am very glad you chose to revisit it here.
    As to the ProMag, we had one come in the store that broke the first time we tried inserting it into a VEPR 1V's magwell. The front tab neatly snapped off in a perfect square shape, taking the entire front of the body with it.For anyone thinking about an Archer, get one if you can and love smooth shooting AKs, cheers.

    Mac, I love my Vepr .223 rifle from Copper Customs. I added a bullet guide and the Bulgarian Circle 10 mags work great. I am working on a replacement follower for 5.45 AK mags, to have 5.56 ammo feed without issue. I will post video on my channel as soon as I've tested the mags. I wish one could ad the Polish Beryl rail onto another AK, like a Vepr. I don't mind modding my rear sight block. There needs to be a screw that has the post attached I some fashion, to lock the rear of the Bery rail to a standard AK, like a Vepr.

    Fold the rear sight forward, put the front part of the rail in the notches and push it up/forward, put in dust cover, and finally drop and lock the rail. Wont damage any part of the rail or firearm from squeezing it on and off

    Considering all the AK variants you've tested/shot so far, what would be your thoughts on a currently available 'best buy' in a low-cost, durable, accurate AK in the under $600 range(IF there is such a critter?)? One requirement would be a side mount for sights either on the wpn or available as an option. Not all of us can afford the $1K rifles or even the $800 ones..

    • @Militaryarmschannel
      @Militaryarmschannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Under $600 makes it impossible to get a good rifle. You can get a working rifle, but if you shoot it a lot you'll likely find it won't hold up.

    • @ShastaPacificRoad
      @ShastaPacificRoad 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OK, $600 was a working number... so maybe $800 would be a better cost? I'm looking for a truck-gun but will shoot it a lot for proficiency. Would I be better off building up a rifle? NOT looking for bells & whistles galore. Or, would one of the Chinese Type 56 SKS's coming in be more in line with what I want?

    People who say that people in Poland can't own guns are WRONG! Getting a license takes a while but once you have you can get yourself a Beryl, an AR-15 and pretty much any gun. There are a few restrictions like the amount of guns you can buy with a certain type of license however that can be increased pretty easily, you also can't have full-autos and .50 cals unless you spend some more time and money to get a license that we like to call "pełna kolekcjonerka" which translates to "a full collector's license", then you have almost no limits(there's still your budget). If you don't want a firearm that requires a license you can always buy a black powder muzzle loader or a revolver without any license or just an air gun. The gun related laws are pretty good here, there is just way too many people that have no idea about the law and just heard that guns in Poland are illegal and without doing any fact-checking they go around spreading this bullshit causing other people to do they same and then they even complain the very few people are armed in the country. If instead of spreading this bullshit they would just get a license, show how easy it is and encourage other people to do the same the country could be with the most guns/100 people since here we have much better laws than in many other parts of the Europe.

    Hey Tim I think you are using the Podavach mag loader upside down. In the video you're using it with the magazine to the right and the channel thing to your left, so you end up having to use your left hand to slide the rounds to the channel. In your case since you apparently are right handed, the magazine should be to your left, and you use your right hand to slide the rounds to the loading channel, then use your right hand again to use the block to push them.
    Also, kudos to M13 , you just showed accidentaly that the product is also left-handed friendly.
