Loving this series. I really missed the megacity builds and my alltime favorite setting for fantasy is in desert areas, so this is scratching a lot of itches. Keep up the amazing work. For behind the temple, I love the other ideas for a sacred grove/pool. Maybe also a cool (underground?) place for ritual embalming. Speaking of which, in a city with this type of burial ritual, you may want to consider shops or even a district dedicated to the supplies necessary for embalming and death rituals! Embalming fluid, canopic jars, linen wraps, colorful powdered dyes, etc. P.S., I also love your little back alleys and small streets. You do such a good job making them feel poor and informal while also feeling cozy and lived in. Really excellent attention to detail.
I noticed that you have a house dedicated for preparing the dead bodies of commoners, but no where to put them? I think that area behind the temple should be a small graveyard. That would fit perfectly given the areas theme
3:00 That spot perfectly captures the megastructure in the back. That looks so cool. 12:49 Their afterlife is no joke lol. Seriously though, that would great to see every time you went down those stairs! Honestly, there's so much to say about everything in this video. Beautiful stuff!
Would love to see some Alexandrian level of library / hanging gardens of babylon stuffs. Feel inspired by ancient mesopotamian and egypt but also perhaps from Dorne and the Slaver Cities from Asoiaf (westeroscraft has lovely dorne stuff)
hey viggo, great builds as usual! Maybe you could have a ritual/sacrifice area for crowds to gather behind the temple, it could be for all kinds of things like criminals, animals or non-believers
I love the look of the district, all the greenery is such a vibe. One suggestion about vegetation would be to add smaller connifer type trees to add some diversity. Keep up the amazing work!
I am in morocco right now and if you look through google maps for riads you will find some amazing buildings. They were generally for the more affluent but still differed greatly from each other.
@@Viggoman Eh, not really. An atrium is supposed to be partially covered, with a hole at the center of the roof. You can call courtyards like these ones patios.
You should try to build there sth like a graveyard for nobility with several smaller temples"tombs/graves/mausoleums. It might add the vibe to the temple
Very cool! Would it be a bad idea to have the streets be a bit more narrow? I feel like that would fit this style very much! All the streets seem pretty wide now. Big fan keep it up
Im just imagining them moving massive statues, blocks and stuff around, and they would have some big roads all over city for that. Some og the smaller streets are quite narrow, arent they?
Awesome video viggo! Totally loving the vibe and the statues look incredible! For behind the temple maybe you might put a few houses and a shrine? Or an alternative Maybe you could do a sacrifice area, its kept behind the temple because sacrificing animals would likely have a rather dirty smell. Perhaps they sacrifice sheep or goats to the God of Death to gain a few more years or keep away from sickness? I think it might be a cool area where they can have a place to keep goats used for sacifices, and its a big enough place kept out from public view to give a more intimate and private meaning
Maybe put a grove of palm trees and a sacred pool behind the temple.
Good idea!

They will be kept in catacombs underground as well, i think
Maybe you can build a pool behind the temple, where the priests can cleanse themselves. (Some sort of ritual bathing house)
Cool idea
Man this is why viggo is the goat
a goat*
Man you are an amazing builder. You should do some tutorials.

13:45 its called riad I belive, in Morocco
Btw see some pictures of riads, they may be good inspirator for richer/higher class buildings I think
Cool! I’ll look it up

The medina of Marrakech is a great place to look for this
13:32 as far as I know, it's called an "Atrium" - at least that's the name from the Romans.
Yes! Thats it

Looks amazing as always.
Thank you
Looking fantastic as always
Thanks alot
This series is so cool. It reminds me a lot of Harran from Dying Light
Thei person inn charge of the Temple would propably be called a Priest
Makes sense lol
