Hi Adriana, hope to find you in the best of health. I have subscribed to your channel and got much clarity on the things that was bit confusing to me. I have a kid of age 8 years and in my country people are shy speaking english because they were not taught the way they should be. So recently I decided to enroll him in an english language course for kids, even he has taken around 2 or 3 classes, I didnt find it more interactive for the kid. as I saw a relation between child and teacher was missing, due to remote classes teacher wasnt showing up on camera and only voice communication was there which removed the aspect of expressions. secondly as different kids have different learning capability, they were all treated the same way and teacher coming up providing comprehension images for quiz to kids which sometimes my kid was unable to comprehend. And children parents Feedback is also missing, Im thinking it much of the same strategy that is taught here in schools without elevating confidence and helping students to connect the dots
Hi, thank you for your comments! May I ask where you live? I'm sorry your son isn't getting the experience in his English classes that will help him learn best. I am not a big fan of online for kids, as you will see in my videos. I hope things change- it's very important that a child's first experience in a language be a positive one! All the best!
@@adrianacantisani thanks. I'm from Pakistan. My goal was always to automate things as you know well a lot of great educational and technical content is in English (take example of yours) . I wanted my children to do exploration on their own like if they want to excel in tech etc they need to understand what the content creator is explaining. So instead of fully relying on parents the should have the ability to explors on their own..
Yes, I get it. Teaching children a second language is not the same as teaching adults and sometimes you can find a great teacher but that teacher is not equipped with the proper method...
@@Nahrin_Assyrian that's wonderful! I think it's so important to honor and respect our heritage and culture. You are really enriching your children's lives. My teacher training course is undergoing a little "makeover" and the new and improved version will be out very soon. Although created for teaching ENG as a foreign language, it actually works to teach ANY language. If you're interested in staying informed as to when it is launched, sign up to my email list and meanwhile you can download some first-lesson activities that are great ice-breakers. @@adrianacantisani Actually he is my nephew, and he is living abroad and I want to teach it, I haven't started with him yet cuz I don't have a knowledge about teaching online+I think he will be less- focused cuz I'm teaching him online so I want materials to catch him up and to follow me with that.. He is 7yo and so energetic and gets board really quickly as well... Thank for helping us to overcome our teaching journey problem, You sister from Syria.
Does this resonate with your experience teaching English to children?
