third type of person who watches these videos: those who don't have enough friends who obsess over LEGO, and who feel less lonely listening to a stranger on the internet obsess over it with them.
I was very disappointed with the fountain set. I live in Spain and love that architecture style. I was so hoping that it would be the same level of detail as the tranquil garden.
I love how this set looks. I might get 2 of them, combine them, and find a way to incorporate them somehow within the lion Knights castle - this looks like it would fit right in, for a royal family garden.
The Fountain Garden should've been the same size and scale as the Tranquil Garden set. Being a smaller in both scale and size immediately makes it an inferior set compared to the Tranquil Garden. I don't think I'll be getting the Fountain Garden even though I absolutely love all Botanical and adjacent sets. It's just too underwhelming.
I really, really appreciate these long-form reviews/video essays. For example, your intro to this video (where you described the two types of people who watch these videos) was spot-on and very thoughtful. 😊
When I first saw the Fountain Garden I said it wasn't for me. You have definitely changed my mind! I already have the Tranquil Garden and it was a must when I first saw it. In my mind this looks so much better with the pillars displayed as you've shown in the latter part of your video and it's definitely the way I would display it. I think I'd have to add a couple of brown coloured benches just to finish it off. Great review 😊
Size difference; 26x40 for the Tranquil Garden if you also count the border. And 22x34 for the Fountain Garden, including te border. So 4x6 studs difference. That to me really shows the difference the colors and build make for the "size experience" so to say.
I like this warm and fuzzy teddybear Matt, and the different angle from the usual face-on to the camera setup. Nice review, I just wish the new set had a black border like the Tranquil garden instead of the dark tan that it currently have.
I understand that you’re trying to be fair and balanced in your assessment. But I’m glad I bought and built this set before watching your review. It was so much fun and I’m delighted to have it on my shelf. This review would have dissuaded me from purchasing it.
I hadn't bought the tranquil garden yet, but when Lego announced this new set and that there might be more gardens of the world, I rushed to buy the tranquility garden. (Got a black Friday deal at a local store). Later next year I'll buy this one. Are there any rumors on which garden/zone will be next? I wish Lego makes a British Garden...
I love how you can move so many parts around so you can give it a personal touch. The comparison shows also what a small difference in size. But even more so in color can do. In my country it is allready available for 80 bucks, which feels like a better baseprice. I ordered Tranquil Garden today after selling it earlier, just so i can have both. I want these gardens of the world to surround the new and big botanical garden when i buy it someday😅
@@brickademy yes I think the black base makes a big difference. Anyway I’ll probably eventually end up with them both… just might have to modify it a bit
I’d buy if it were built on a single player plate minus the cost of the pieces not used. I bet half of the price comes from the pieces used for the base.
good video homie. before you got to the negatives, i was thinking maybe i could deal with it. but man im anchored to tranquil garden standard. im a clown builder and on a really good day i could make something of this quality.
Great vid. Like the set. Love the new yellow bird.🐤 P.S. I’m the forth type of watcher. Lego Bird watcher and animals and insects. Lately baby dragons and birds.🐤
I think it's beautiful, but it seems that it should be part of a larger scene. I'd like to see some minifigs in it, as I think it would fit well into a City display if the base were modded into a more standard built up city plate. I love the interchangeable sections. I think that's super clever design. The Frog needs no explanation. He just IS. I think I may need that teeny Mothra though.
I'm annoyed that they don't take up the same footprint of space. If they were the same size I would want to collect them all but as they are not, it is enough of a reason for me to pass. If I only had one, it'd be the tranquil garden, easily.
Good review but you need to stop insisting that "you are not saying the set is bad, dont misunderstand, and you enjoyed building it". I heard the same pattern more than 4 times (including your disclaimer) in this vid. Just present your points objectively and the audience can decide on their own, regardless if they already purchased or not. It felt like you are working hard not to offend your Lego sponsors. I personally think this set looks inferior compared to Tranquil Garden if placed side by side. Also the base looks more plain and no elements (e.g. flowers like in the first set). This set should be cheaper than TG.

I'll be your friend!
@@brick_fanatics eh, you're way over in England though....🤣

Exactly! Insane they didn't make them the same scale. It ruins the whole garden collection for me.
Agreed. I would have preferred consistency across all of the “Garden” sets. The Tranquil garden is in my top 3 LEGO sets of all time

I really like the look of this set but I like the tranquil garden more.
I really like this set more so for a Scene for mini figs you might have collected a since it feels better for scale

Reminds me of the Alhambra gardens. Would have been a nice design direction.

Just a comment :)
