    I had a Romanian friend in school, and he used to talk about vacationing with his family there every year. Now I can see what he tried to describe to me from the middle of California. A local radio station would regularly joke negatively about Romania because few people here knew anything about it, but Bucharest is clearly nicer looking than our downtown areas. Thanks for the walking tour.

      To be fair they pretty much walked down arguably the nicest street in the city, but the city's charms goes far beyond just looking pretty. It's a wonderful place and a country of great contrast, highly recommend visiting!

      There is enough money .. the city has great economic output the problem was the endemic corruption in all the past administrations and the real estate mafia. Now there's a new mayor that seems like a decent man. let's hope the city will develop more coherently in the next 4 years and further ahead.

    Starting at around 8 minute Mark there is a building that looks like a theater. I can tell it was built by communists because where I am from Ukraine there is also a theater building that is almost identical architectural style.

    • @StopFear
      @StopFear 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@bogdanescu86 yep, in my former city of residence in Ukraine that is the time when it was built. Surprisingly it’s all good and well designed inside. I think it was the period of architecture associated with Stalin when a bunch of apartment buildings and utility buildings were built in German architectural style, and also involving German prisoners. At least that’s what they said it was the case in my city in Ukraine.
