@@Hannes123456789123 I'm sure many people have different opinions but I'd say yes and no. I've been told on our off days we don't need as many calories since we're not using as many. “You’re diet sucks…all the d!cks” 😂 I come here for the straight talk advice that is gold, and the delivery is just the perfect way it needs to be said.
I always followed the eat big to get big, lift big or go home ethos. In the last 2 years without a gym because of lockdowns, I bought some basic equipment and made a home gym. I eat once a day and do lots of sets, lots of reps (the Greg Valentino way). I’m 53 and have gained more muscle in the last 2 years than in 30+ years of trying to lift heavy every workout. Who’d have thought it. After stopping listening to what others said I should be doing and going by what my mind/body actually wants, I’ve finally found out what works for me. Pity it’s 30 years too late.
Been consistent with 4to 5 gym sessions per week for 12 months .. the gains are minute so I understand what you're saying . The diet is the most difficult thing by a mile leading to frustration .. especially those of us who would never go near steroids like many quick fixers do who will eventually regret it..

this guy is a BEAST. straight up defies all the bs i was tought in high school/ college i literally would not be a fat slob with 10 injuries, had i known what he preaches 15 years ago. my diet SUCKS. YES
I'm not a hard gainer but finding dietary discipline has been difficult. Ryan's advice is helping. I do take pleasure in finding the bottom of the weight stack and putting the pin in and doing reps at that level, but that's only something I do SOME of the time. Most of my workouts are in the middle 4 to 6 range as he suggests. My goals are more about increasing functional strength than increasing muscle size. I'd rather be the densely muscled type who's way stronger than he looks....but I look pretty strong to begin with. Simply inflating my muscles holds no interest for me.
Just subscribed, and I’m just finally at the point after recovering from an injury back in 2004…I can finally start using weights like I’ve wanted to. You make me laugh. That’s why I subscribed. …but I stayed because of the blunt honesty. Getting the garage workout next!!
Im not gonna lie. I used to be the guy trying to measure D size on how much weight i pushed and for a whole year i looked like shit. It wasnt until i started leaving my ego at the door and Trained with high volume (less weight and more reps) until i started seeing some real results on my physique. Once in a while I still throw one set of heavy weight on my compound but for the most part I keep my reps between 8-30 (yes 30) and pyramiding the weight
As an ex GNC manager I fully appreciate the truth! One of the regional managers that had part in hiring me was easily 350 lb.s and I remember thinking "Seriously what the fuck" to myself. They wanted me to push the dumbest shit too, no thanks man. I'd like to see people get healthy not ripped off.
My issue was always connection. I've recently adopted the lightweight approach for metabolic stress and emphasis on single-muscle connection. High school football strength training made me strong, but it's not the right training philosophy for hypertrophy.
-Quality food (Protein)
-Focus on feeling the muscle mind connection (High volume and progressive overload)

this guy is a BEAST. straight up defies all the bs i was tought in high school/ college i literally would not be a fat slob with 10 injuries, had i known what he preaches 15 years ago. my diet SUCKS. YES
I laughed my ass off.
“Get to the bottom pin on every machine, because that unlocks Starworld”
randomly stumbled your page- your dry humour is fantastic!
Excellent video! I definitely spent way too much time trying to lift all the weight without making the muscle connection. Wish I learned that earlier.
The life testing portion is huge, thanks for bringing that up with examples we don’t expect
Learn to make chinese brown sauce. It's super easy. Then chicken are broccoli all day. Love it
Ome of your best videos for someone getting back into gym mode. Thanks, Ryan.
This guy is good. Definitely has that "sell me this pen" attitude
I love how real you are! Awesome content!
"Life is gonna test ya" love that one!
"Seggs is killing your gains."
Just subscribed, and I’m just finally at the point after recovering from an injury back in 2004…I can finally start using weights like I’ve wanted to.
You make me laugh. That’s why I subscribed.
…but I stayed because of the blunt honesty.
Getting the garage workout next!!
I fucking love this guy! He's spot on with everything I've seen so far.
I like this guy, seems quite genuine and doesnt have much insecurities, good advice too.
Damn Ryan, I'm liking those edits 🔥🔥
That part about the 4 vs 6 was a great and quick explanation.
But Ryan, Megamind didn't have a beard...
Love the V shred commercial before this video!! Such good info!
“Good job you put 30 lbs of muscle” 😂
Bye far the best bodybuilding channel for ordinary people keep it up 👍🏼
Im not gonna lie.
Do you start heavier or lighter and go up?
Wow I agree. I been pushing up to 20 on my legs curls and extensions. Possibly going to do the same on leg press. John Meadows advocates this
You put it out there as simpel and clean as it can be said.. Big motivator for me it starts to sink in.. Thank you..
You're a talented writer Ryan.
I love that lower volume is not even mentioned. I love this
That picture of "hardgainer" Ryan in the thumbnail still got like 20 inch arms wtf
Because he used to be on gear and hasn't addressed that anywhere
No way anyone's getting traps like him without some juice lmao
Man of Clear Words. I should Follow your channel.
Get ripped, not ripped off.
My issue was always connection. I've recently adopted the lightweight approach for metabolic stress and emphasis on single-muscle connection. High school football strength training made me strong, but it's not the right training philosophy for hypertrophy.
You're head is like a sugar cube, smooth, white, and highly refined.
Lol "Dumpster Fire to Fit"; that's the video for me right there. Man, I dig your delivery. New subscriber, Thanks for the content.
Fav vid so far “ put the p in the v”
“ it’s a daily grind with very few results “
I saw this video title and through “they are sitting on TH-cam instead of working out/eating” and holy fucking shit, he said just that. Great video
No joke I was eating a plate of apples w/ peanut butter when I watched this. Okay I get the message!
A mouthful of Copenhagen just flew all over my dining room table.
Thanks bro (SMH)
Bro I love your vids! Not only is it informational but funny as hell!!!

I love your no bullshit approach to training and nutrition.
