Fx Panthera one year later shooting 500 yards, yes with an airgun!

- Fx Pathera 700 mm barrel in 25 cal shooting balloons at 500 yards, some people say no way.
This video shows my range and the distances.
You can verify the size of the of the targets by looking at the yardage markers
The markers are 18 inches wide by 7 inches tall. You can use them as a reference to the size of the targets at each distance.
The scope is a first focal plane Vortex Venom in mill .
One mill equals 3.6 inches at 100 yards. You can multiply 3.6 inches times how many hundred yards to verify distance if you know the size of the target. For. Example at five hundred yards one mill is 18 inches.
In the video you can see the sign at 500 yards is one mill wide verifying the distance.
You can verify the distance also by the time it takes the slug to reach the target.
Notice the slug takes 1.95 seconds to reach the ballon’s at 500 yards.

As owner of a .25cal Panthera and a .30cal maverick. Absolutely you can shoot 500 yards with an air rifle. Know your ballistics and have the right wind, anything is possible

Awesome video as usual. You could stay at five 00 yards at Panther always shooting 1 foot group. 300 maybe an 8 inch. I put a barrel on my wildcat three years ago. I got a Walther polygon no choke . At 500 yards you’ll be shooting 4 inches group. Those FX slug liners do not work well with a choke on them and if you take the choke off, it’ll shoot a 12 inch grouper 20 feet.
And don’t forget to do with Matt said . Take the barrel shroud off the reservoir and loosen the barrel bolts on the clamp that holds the barrel tight it seems it was a bad design because if the gun is out in the sun and it heats up your point of inch patch ships about an inch at 100 yards for me, it would be time to put that heat right in the garbage can.
I have quite a few airguns now, but nothing has the power as the Panthera at 175 bar its push 46 grain boat tails slugs at 1047 fps. My vulcan 3 which I love at 175 bar shoots 46 grain boat tails at 970. In my P3 at 175 bar is only 920 ft./s with same slugs.
My real powerhouse is my Airforce Texan that’s pushing 85 grain boat tail slugs at 200 bar 1010 ft./s. I used to watch all your videos. Haven’t made any in a while.
@@myairgunrange build you have the huben . If you can get the boat tails you can shoot the at close to 1200 fps . I am going to be doing a video how to get that power out of the huben.you have to change a couple of springs so your valve stays open longer. So a little longer dwell time .I have a k1 22 Cal shoots a 40 grain slug over 1200 fps .At 100 yards I get under a half inch group a 1150 fps.
Just came home from " my " range, nothing big though, too GD cold, but did get new scope dialed in.

Locked to the .177 caliber, but still game for some range with those, will open up from 92 to 142 Yards, longer and i will have to visit a M8 that have past 200 Yards.
Mind you i am not happy shooting big targets no matter the range, so a 3" target is about as big as i would like to shoot.
Not able to shoot heavy though, not been able to get 16 or 20 grain slugs to fly well, so i mainly shoot 13 grain so far.
Getting Epic two later this year, with LW poly barrel, but not sure it is better, same TR as FX barrels in .177

Cz are the best you can get .Fx is not in the running
The Vulcan is awesome. The only problem is it won’t cycle heavy, slugs.

I put the Houma extra high pressure regulator in it, and a 8 mm hammer.

Hey Norm love your channel you are one of the channels that got me into airguns. I didn’t switch. I actually ran out of 50 grain. I bought a whole bunch of 46 Grain to try with my Vulvan 3 and my Rti p3 . The 50 grain shoot better. The blue balloons at the beginning of the video are the 50 grain. 👍

What scope are you using for such distances?
I was using the Vortex venom on 25 power.
