The Yasakani Magatama is an accessory that many consider to be the best in the game. Wearing it allows you to wear one less armor set piece and still get the full bonuses you would normally get if you were wearing the entire armor set.
There are two missions you can use to farm for the Yasakani Magatama the fastest. The first is in the first region, the Kyushu region, and it's the sub mission A Request from Ginchiyo. The second is in the fourth region, the Tokai Region, and it's the sub mission "The Trail of the Master".

Doing the farm incorrectly, you have to pick up the hotoko mask the second time in order to reset the loot table, if you don't pick it up you will gat the same drop on the third try

Thx man, spent hours with the "Request from Ginchiyo" method, no luck. Found your video and switched to "The Trail of the Master" and got it within 15 minutes. Works great. Btw, I didn't pick up the mask at all, I have always received a new, random item. Only after the third try it didn't change anymore.

good thing you can farm the himogori branches in the Tokai region, sub mission "The Three Souls" by searching the corpse/dead body when you first spawn into the map straight ahead and to the right. (also a shinobi box and a sacred brush in the two large chests around the map)
Still works! Got it on The Trial of the Master (mission level 225) in about 30 min (patch 1.24.01). I didn't had the Swallotail set to help with the luck up, got it just using Daiba-Washi (1st) and Itokuri (2nd) guardians. If you only get the Hyottoko Mask, you can reset 1 more time. Cheers!

niba niba not sure, tbh I wouldn’t do this method till WotD. I farmed for like 2 hours on NG+ and kinda regret it. They drop like candy later on. Focus on a set, then in WotD you can mix sets with it for better damage

I've been farming for 2 hours on the WotSam version, I'm not sure if it works with the NG version of the mission.

And for those who are still farming and wanna farm this, you can still get it drop in WotSamurai ( after you finished the game once for Divine gear to appear ) but the level will be lower ( mine was lvl 80 when i got this bad boy )
I like this method of farming in any game. Run past everything, open the chest for rewards, all enemies immediately die. Pure profit! 👍

Update 06.02.2019 Got it with the first Method on Way of the Samurai (First Playthrough). But i have finished the Queens Eyes Mission before. Havent touched any level in Way of the Strong yet. When the second try doenst work, you have to pick up the Mask and go to the Shrine again to gain a thrid try. Otherwise you have to End the Mission by using that Item that ports you back to the overworld. Got it at first try with 99 Luck with the Spider Guardian Spirit that gives u 50 Luck as stat. I Play on Patch 1.21 Ps4 Season Pass included. Have Fun Farming if you still play this awesome game!

Okay so I'm a little bit confused cuz I just got this game The way of the samurai is the very first playthrough ?
You do realize that you never have to fight the wall demon things, right? Pay attention to the color of the wall's eyes, then use any gesture that is *not* the same color as his eyes. So if his eyes are red, try to bow or some other blue gesture, and if that doesn't work, use a yellow gesture instead. You get two tries provided you don't fuck up and use a red gesture on a red eyed wall, etc.

Same applies to the yokai chest that takes your image, just do the exact same gesture it poses and you miss out on the small 1-3k amrita but have a higher chance to spawn rare, one of a kind and in ng+ divine items and equipment.

I got a question. How exactly do you tell the colors of the Nurikabe's eye's? They always seem yellow to me. I know it's randomized every time. So how do you know if the eyes are blue or red?
@@jamiemer1109 if your first gesture is wrong his eye color changes to the color you aren’t supposed to use. So just use the other color gesture

Confirmed still working in 1.16. Got one last night (6 September) after about 20 runs through Trail of the Master. I've probably done 20 runs previously as well, so maybe 35 - 40 runs in total. Thanks for the tips, nice to hear an Aussie on a Nioh video. One thing though: you have to pick up the Hyottoko Mask the second time to reset the drop, as others have mentioned.
This may help some folks. I had only done the first mission on NG+/Way Of The Strong , and defeated Otakemaru in Way Of The Samurai/NG. I decided to do the first DLC on Way Of the Samurai/NG for practice.
On the mission Eternal Rivals past the Fourth Kodama Shrine there is a open clearing in the bamboo forest. You will climb a tree and there is a bridge. Before the bridge there is a path to the right that forks. There is a Kappa standing near a chest. The Kappa dropped a Yasakani Magatama, and then right after the large black chest dropped a Yasakani Magatama. I'm not sure if this is blind luck considering it happened on New Game, but it's definitely worth checking out.
PS - To anyone farming this accessory I truly feel your pain. I spent many a days farming Yasakani on the first Nioh to get one with Affixes that complimented my gear/build.

just got one at trial of the master. my luck is 140+ and used luckbringer spell. used Itokuri guardian at level30 for +75 luck bonus. request for ginchi, 50+ tries never worked. took 20 tries until I used your tip of resetting the loot. thank you. cheers

Was after the 1.06 Patch too. Such a good accessory as i can have heavy armor 4 pieces and get the 5 bonus as well as each weapon gives me a 2 piece bonus set and so can my light helm when im not using kodama helm and run around in B agility ;)
Yep, best accessory in the game. I'm still waiting for a good roll on it though...
Just a head's up this still works with patch 1.09.
The first mission is also really good for Gold farming. You get like 100k gold in whatever times it takes you to finish a mission
The first mission only gives 42K gold. You might be thinking of the sub mission in the first region called A Request from Ginchiyo? That one gives 111K gold.

I would like to tell you that the yasa magatama drops pretty well in level 310 A meeting on the other shore. I kill them faster then it takes to load and I have gotten 4 in 2 hours farming them.
You've been very lucky because I can tell you that hasn't been the case for me. I farmed A Meeting on the Other Shore no less than 300 times yesterday and not one dropped there for me, nor has one ever dropped on that mission for me. I feel I may be cursed :P

That's the best way. A guaranteed Yasakani didn't exist when I made this video, but now it's guaranteed in Return of the Gourd.

A Request from Ginchiyo dose not work for me been on it for 4days now farming hell and back only thing i get be good is ok gear my help me or not but it not on it no more and sub misson for way of the strong the conspirators ninjas frog up on me as one just set back shots did not have hard time with this on the 1st run but on way of the strong rip my guts out befor i can get clear lol

No, it won't. On your first try you'll pray. On your second try you'll pray. On both of those times it will save the game, preventing you from trying 3 times against once you come back. So I'm afraid not.
has this been adjusted becouse ive been grinding and droped a green Magatama but it was not Yasakani?
It's just god-awful RNG. Can take 1 run or 1000.

I've beet the game but haven't finished two kings or way of strong do you have to start by+ completely to be able to get it I'm getting divine weapons just wanna know if it's possible to get a divine charm as well
Well, divine items can drop in Way of the Samurai, but if you're hunting divine stuff, you're better off in NG+. It sounds like you're not sure about NG+. Just do it man. You can switch between Way of the Strong and Way of the Samurai easily if you want to.

The yasakatania magatama drop is random luck. It could take minutes, it could takes hours. You have to do the 3 checks per mission run to simply have a low chance at getting it. Remember to pick up the Hyottoko Mask only on your second try though, which I didn't do properly in the video.

I have way of the strong unlocked, but don't have 4th region unlocked yet. Can I do the same in 4th region by doing it on NG?
You need to do it in NG+ I'm afraid.

It's still installed, but I haven't played it for a few months. I keep it installed because it's one of my favourite games ever and you never know when you're going to get the itch to have a play. But, I don't think any new content will be coming for Nioh, so I doubt I'll fire it up again. I guess I'm waiting for Nioh 2 now :)
Do you have to use Ochoko cups for the Yasakani since it is a divine item drop? Or can you still get it from the mission rewards without offering Ochoko cups at the mission start?
You don't need to use Ochoko cups to have a chance at getting it.
Just throwing this out there to people looking to do this method: I have burned through 40 hirogomi branches. No results. Take it as you will. I have over 200 luck when doing this.
Yeah, the RNG sucks. The best way if you're at Way of the Demon is to run Tea-Time Enlightenment over and over. Or, if you're doing this method, do it when you have zero Amrita and use a Himorogi Fragment instead so you don't burn through anything.

As soon as you get to the mission, but don't bother farming it. This was early Nioh days. After they added extra content they made it so that some missions guarantee a Yasakani, so just play on and you'll get one normally.

Yeah, don't waste your time with this in NG.

Question...since the accessory for "A Request for Ginchiyo" is a quest reward rather than a drop, that means there's no way to manipulate or increase your chances at having that Magatama drop, correct?
Yes, it's a quest reward now, but it is also still a drop. You can try increasing your item drop rate and luck. I've got a few now, and I never really bother increasing item drop rate or luck. But I tend to a play a bit so there's that. I think Trail of the Master is still probably your best bet, though it's still a grind unless RNG is shining on you.

Way of the Samurai?
Fuzzy Bearbarian i’m in way of samurai dlc and way of strong now. Been doing this in way of the strong. I’m at the point where farming in old missions is taking so many runs to level up and new mission are a bit over my hand now. I’m lvl 167
I would recommend playing through Way of the Strong and then going back to do the DLC missions later. They were added after NG+ so they weren't really meant to be played as you played through originally, and can be a bit hard. Your level is easily high enough to beat Way of the Strong (you'll always be underleveled. When you get to Way of the Nioh you can be as low as 700 levels lower than the enemies - I was 450 or so when I did the last 1080 mission in WOTN). So yeah, the trick is to not worry about leveling up as much as it is to have the right gear with as high a + level as you can put on it via soul matching. Gear level matters way more than your actual level, by a long long shot. Work on your gear more than anything if you're having trouble.
Can you have multiple yasakani magatamas?
Yes, but they're -1 armor perk doesn't stack.
can u get the the amulet in normal game? or is it specific to ng+?
Good question. I don't know the answer as I never got this in normal game. However, I think you could get it. It's just a rare amulet, and the same armor sets are available in NG as NG+ to apply it to, so I don't see why not. Still, I wouldn't bother farming for it. It would be a case of if it is available, hope for it on a lucky drop, otherwise wait until NG+ to bother farming for it.

Yeah, and it's very rare, so even if you can get it there, that's potentially a lot of farming to get what ultimately you'll replace when you get to NG+ anyway.
yeah I see I'm going to wait because I literally just farmed wot-west 90 minutes and only got the sword text which I didn't even know I picked up..... point is I see even with luck n drop rate on max it's still really really Difficult and more time then I can allow dieing he work week lol thanks for your help fuzzy.

Yes it does.However, you can just wait until Return of the Gourd and get it guaranteed, or farm Tea-Time Entertainment - both are sub-missions later in the game that were added with DLC's after this video was made.

Yes. You were just unlucky I think. Be sure to keep your eye on other accessories. Back when this video was made the Yasakani was the only accessory that gave a -1 equipment perk. Now it can drop on other accessories too. Keep your eye out!

Haven't heard anything to the contrary. Also, check the blacksmith after every mission. I've already gotten more Yasakani's from her than I ever have from playing the game. They are occasionally in her special items, which change after every mission.
yea I heard about the BS having this for sale, but I have yet to come across it. I def have been checking every hour when I m playing the game, but with no luck so far.

Some people have reported getting 4 in like their first hour of farming. Others haven't had it for days. RNG is a pain, that's for sure.

Works on any level. Was tested only yesterday and still works. Just remember you don't get a Yasakani every run, it takes many. However, this was made 3 years ago. I don't recommend bothering any more. You get a guaranteed Yasakani when you do the Return of the Gourd mission now, which was introduced later in a DLC. Just work your way to that mission and get it instantly.

Early on, yep. At this point though it's not so much the stats as the armor set +1 perk you get. Still, this is an old video. It's not really worth farming it here any more imo as you get one gifted to you later anyway, whereas when this video was made you couldn't get one from doing any one mission.

Still works, but no longer worth the grind. You get a Yasakani gifted to you later on. Since this video all the DLC's have been released and now if you just get yourself far enough you'll save yourself the hours of farming (which it can be very long if you don't have RNG on your side). Best off progressing as far as you can without needing to put hours into a build at the early stage of the game now.
Not sure if the trail of the master 3 tries trick still work with patch 1.21.04? I literally ran 40 - 50 times on NG+, taking Hyotoko mask on second drop. I also have about 300+ luck on my status panel and using luckbringer talisman. But the yasakani magatama remains elusive :(
I haven't heard of it being patched out and don't think it has been. You might be having very very bad luck. Make sure you Make sure you don't loot either item first time, loot only the mask the 2nd time, and on the 3rd loot whatever's there, then restart the mission. Otherwise, have you got access to Return of the Gourd yet? If you do that it's a guaranteed reward. Might be easier to make your way forward to it than to run this over and over. Also, Tea Time Entertainment reward is also an accessory with as good a chance at getting a Yasakani as any other. If those missions are a struggle, summon some help. Good luck, I know the randomness of it all can be a serious pain.

No problem at all and good luck. But if I were you I'd go straight to WotS and summon help to blitz Return of the Gourd, get the Yasakani, then move on. All the farming and grinding will be worthless to you once you move on to Way of the Wise, so in my opinion you're better off getting your Yasakani as fast as you can, equipping a build that will help you move to Way of the Wise, and then start the real end-game where you can begin creating your ethereal build. Just a suggestion though, play however is fun for you!
Fuzzy Bearbarian i've taken upon myself to get to wotn without any help from visitors :D anyway i've reached the giant frog mission that gives like 15mil amrita in 1-2 minutes, just farming out the amorita and gears since i'll probably need it to beat queen's eyes mission in wotd. im sure i will get yasakani soon using one of the methods you described. Nioh is such a challenging game and im enjoying it so much !
Well I'm bloody impressed with you mate, to get that far without a Yasakani means you are certainly very good at the game. I think when you do get a Yasakani and can mix and match your armor set you're going to feel like a god!
i've been farming the request from Ginchou and im fucking tired of it.... yesterday for 8 hours with luck scrolls and magatamas.... still no drop. I know for sure that it drops because on PS4 when I farmed money and amrita ( no luck build ) i got 2 Yasakani in less than 2 hours ! Sick RNG....
I feel your pain. The absurd RNG in this game is why I eventually quit playing.
I'm not luck build even don't using luck boost and today I got one more (+10) in WotD Falling Snow,first big RED Yokai. I think it's TOTALLY random now and farming is just a waste of time.

Yeah, still works, but is a waste of time. You get a Yasakani gifted to you later on when you do the Return of the Gourd mission. So just hold out and save yourself the grind vs RNG battle.

It works but personally I find more success just rerunning Tea-Time Entertainment now. Also, Yasakani's tend to drop alot in WotW (and the perk is also on normal Magatami's too there). So yeah, personally I wouldn't bother with this run anymore. If you're earlier game and haven't got one you're guaranteed one in Return of the Gourd now (I think that's right, but I haven't played Nioh in a while so yeah, my memory might be off. Either way, you're guaranteed one at some point in one of the side missions).

A total waste of time doing this in Way of the Demon. You get a Yasakani gifted to you when you do the Return of the Gourd mission. Just do that. Tea Time Entertainment can also drop Yasakani's while being a more valuable process when they don't drop as well.

I know it's 2020, and I'm part of the PS Plus free games club but I got this before I completed the game while doing a PVP battle mode and it literally happened the night after I watched a video saying you couldn't get this little game changer before NG+ but I did. Yesterday I finally decided to try to complete the game and did the Hundred Eyes mission and I don't know why I was so timid, I tore that ass up literally, I just stayed behind the boss and used that three hit skill with the sword that's fast as lightning on top of sloth and devigorate and tore its ass up, then only had three areas that were opened for me to restart all the quests and I have a bunch of green gear but no matching sets and it's hard to let go of my obsidian/demonking set even if it is all purple and blue gear, but my questions is, can you get 2 of these accessories? Because that would just be insane
You can get two and wear them but the +1 armor set bonus won't stack.

@@GenX-Rising The type of your second doesn't matter. What matters is the roll you get and how its perks suit your build. I primarily look for both accessories to have reduced elemental damage and reduced firearms damage. Then I go for Yokai Close Combat damage. Get two accessories with all 3 and you're golden. But again, depends on your build what rolls you want.
